“Don’t you know better than to dance with demons?”

I was a fractured soul, trapped in a numb existence—until I dared to play with monsters. I took the fire of a dragon and rose from the ashes.

Now, I face the storm of a fallen angel. And his darker side—a demon who cannot be tamed. A demon who wants me dead. And new enemies lurk in the shadows.

Perhaps I’d rather live on the dark side.

If this is the only way I can feel, then I’ll feel the storm. I’ll keep the monsters, take them however they choose. They are gods. I am a girl.

I am their dark dream fulfilled…

But can I possibly win the demon inside of an angel and break his curse when I am just as fallen as him?

Will I surrender my deepest darkness so I may find the light?

The Surrender is book two in Her Monstrous Boys series. A dark fantasy romance inspired by the myth of Cupid and Psyche. If you love fast-burn dark romance, morally gray monsters, and the sassy sweetheart they’ll burn worlds for, you will fall hard for touch-starved Quintessa and her beastly boys.

With curses and creatures, wingspans that grow, and boys fighting over the girl, The Surrender is perfect for fans of the Vicious Lost Boys Series.

Reviewing as an ARC reader, this is my honest review 😀

No Spoilers!

I couldn't WAIT to get my hands on the second book in this series! I've already ordered the Kindle version of all 3, and the physical copy of book 1, The Sacrifice. (Read that one first, trust me!)

The adventure continues, with just as many surprises- if not more. We get a closer look at some of the other Fallen Gods as the plot thickens... with all the SPICE you've come to expect from this brilliant author. This installment does NOT disappoint.

🖤 Plot
🖤 Spice
🖤 Angst
🖤 Suspense

This book has it all! I couldn't put it down and I read it in 2 days 🥰 January seems so far away... but I'll be picking up the 3rd book as soon as it's available!

This was insane but delicious. The Surrender is book two in the Her Monstrous Boys series, and follows Quintessa as she continues her journey with Drago, Mayce, Kyan, and Merikh, who she met in book one (The Sacrifice). I highly recommend reading book one before this one so that things will make more sense!

Kyan has whisked Quinny to his Court of Storms, the others follow, and we are treated to Quinn and Kyan getting to know one another, as well as Kyan’s demon, Shadow, the sad story of Kyan’s doomed mate Erya, the villagers, more of Drago’s obsession with Q, some of Merikh’s story and a very intimate look at his bond with Kyan, a little taste and peek at Daddy Mayce, and a sweet little surprise growing in a certain Gray Girl’s belly.

This book is much darker and so much spicier than book one. You just need to read it.

"Darkness will always worship the light as the light will always flirt with darkness. You may tempt the darkness. You may hate it. But it is the only safe place for you to hide."

Thank you, seriously THANK YOU Emily Shore for The Surrender! If you loved The Sacrifice, you will devour The Surrender and all our Fallen Angel's glory.

Kyan and Quintessa gave us all of the spicy romantasy with a splash of darkness thrown in, from both Kyan and Merikh, making it all the better. Although The Surrender is mainly focused on Kyan and the growing bond between him and Quintessa, we see more of Kyan and Merikh's relationship and how much give and take Merikh truly provides.

The Surrender provides us more background about Kyan and the "demons" that plague not only the Monster Gods, but Quintessa herself. Within The Sacrifice we are able to get glimpses of the trauma, but The Surrender is where we can further relate to and acknowledge some of what has happened to Quintessa. Though I feel it hasn't even broken the surface of what we will find within the future books. Quintessa still remains as the strong FMC, but we can see the brokenness that she hides within her darkness and shelters to keep others at bay and protect her heart. As she said in The Sacrifice, "The only one who gets to break me, is me" and she lives by that still.

Thank you again for this ARC, I truly appreciate it and cannot wait for The Submission!

ARC REVIEW

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️

Emily has done it again with book 2 of Her Monstrous Boys. We were already obviously in love with Drago, now prepare to be swept off your feet (or thrown off a tower) by Kyan.

You can’t help but love ALL sides of this fallen angel…including his special friend (it’s a vibrating 🍆 btw).
And damn do I love to hate Merikh, like why do I want him to do me against a wall while also wanting to punch him in the face at the same time?! I still can’t wait to know more about him!
Quinn is badass…I mean you have to be to take that much from these monsters 🤤. She’s grown so much in the last 2 books and I feel like her journey is just beginning!

I received the ARC to the second book and this is my honest review of it.
Spice level: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
It did not disappoint! The vulnerable side of Miss Shore really came out in this one. There was so much love and hurt and anguish.
The plot was fantastic!
Kyan has such a kind heart and you fall in love with him over and over even his dark side is lovable.
And Merikh 🥵 that vampire hes my favorite and I'm excited for his whole story!!
I'm so excited to see how Qoras story plays out
And of course our dear Quinny she has such strong feelings towards these 4 kings.
I'm ready for my next adventure with book 3!
Please remember to check Trigger warnings as this series is not for anyone under the age of 18.

wow

After the first book captured my interest with such intensity I didn’t think the next book could reach the same high—BUT it did, and I love Kyan so much! I can’t wait to see how the next book is going to destroy me.

This is my second Emily Shore book as an ARC reader. I can’t say enough about this series. It’s a deep dark fairy tale with all the gorgeous monsters. Love the plot development of the story and how it touches on each individual characters point of view. The intimacy between Quinny and her monsters are mind blowing 🥵. So far I’m obsessed with this series and can not wait for book 3. Double P, Steel Crosses and Vibrations 🥵🥵🍆🍆👌 someone take the wheel before I pass out 😘😜

Super spicy smutty read. Not for the faint of heart. While it did take me a bit longer to get through this book, I couldn't put it down for the second half. This was a great second act to this story.

This was an ARC read and honest review.

WOW! I started the book and devoured it.
The character development and growth throughout was so good!
You feel like your right there during the read, the highs the lows, the excitement, the sorrow. Page turner with what’s going to unfold. The spice just amped up and still has my mind reeling. May have a little envy on what Quintessa gets to enjoy 🤤 I’m even more so excited for book 3! I need more!

I received an ARC from Emily Shore for Free; but all thoughts & opinions and Review are my own.
Let me start off by saying: Please be sure to read the Trigger Warnings because there is content here not suited for children or anyone under the age of eighteen and be sure this is still the type of book you’re looking for because This is definitely DARK!
I find I really enjoy all this darkness that Emily Shore has us shrouded in because I am wading through the darkness to discover each of the Monster Gods and to dance with their demons in the darkness.

🖤Fast burn #whychoose
🖤Dubcon/kinky
🖤Four sexy monster gods
🖤Noncon
🖤Body modification
🖤BDSM
🖤Belt Spanking
🖤Mild blood play
🖤Violence ofc
🖤Darker Themes
🖤Pain, pleasure, punishment
🖤Magic, masks, and mayhem

Welcome to The Surrender: A Dark Fallen Angel Fantasy RomanceBook 2, following The Sacrifice: A Dark Dragon Fantasy RomanceThe Sacrifice(A Dark Dragon Romantasy), that took place in the Court of Ash.
You’re now in the Court of Storms and Breath; Kyan’s realm where flight, feathers and an inner demon that Kyan struggles with(literally & figuratively speaking) have free reign.
I’m astounded that book two is just as good if not better than book one! It delivers again in Spice, plot, character development, world building and overall enthralling storytelling!!!
I absolutely loved all the characters in book one, but seeing each of them and their relationships continue to grow is a thing of beauty.
Emily really knows what she’s doing with these books and has my heart in the palm of her hand with these characters!!
Quintessa really shined again with her determination to love all of Kyan, just as she loved all of Drago; she’s resilient and I love how she finds strength in her weaknesses, she revels in Pain and manages to find beauty in the desolate world that her Monster Gods are stuck in.

One of my favorite quotes from the book:
I am not their happily ever after. I am their dark and deadly once upon a time… ~Quintessa

Expect a big Vibrating Cock, Wings, ethereal beauty, an unhinged Shadow, big developments, surprises and a cliffhanger, because each book builds off of each other leaving you begging for more!
Take flight with us and discover the dark & beautiful world that Emily Shore continues to build upon with her Monster Gods, Quintessa and the breath taking world around them that’s always expanding.

I'd heard you had to get through the first two books for the quartet to get great, but I have serious doubts. It's just the same recycled convos and self doubts over and over again, interspersed with punishments and smut scenes.

Also, the author has an addiction with using the same words over and over. I think she's uses "deadpan" and "simper" at least once during every character interaction, to the point of being obnoxious.

This book seemed a lot darker than the first. Kyan’s court is just as macabre as Drago’s court. In the first book Kyan & Mayce were my fav characters but this second book I think Drago & Mayce are my favs. Shadow was definitely not very likable till the end. I also usually don’t like reading about pregnancy/babies but it works for this storyline & I wonder what her baby will be like. I thought I had the mystery of the cave of babies figured out so to find out someone else was responsible was a surprise.

Some random bits/lines I liked:
“Merikh is the dark one. Mayce is the smart one. Drago is the leader. Kyan is the loyal one.”

“She'll see your mad side and never stay. She'll hate your bad side and run away!”

“Let the winds of change kiss your face.” I’ll never let you fall when we reach that place.”

“Darkness will always worship the light as the light will always flirt with darkness.”

“Tread lightly, pretty darling soul,
When breath is brief, and sun is low...
We thought the scars would make us strong.
But it was love, my angel...all along.”

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

MAY HAVE SPOILERS

Okay, Emily Shore did it again! What can I say about this book that I didn't with the first one? I absolutely love the characters in this story. As always Quintessa proves that she's able to take on the darkness of her Gods by accepting them and dealing with her own. I love that each story is centered on each monster, but has touches of narratives from everyone. I love seeing everyone's growth in the books as well..  and can't wait to read the next one to see how Mayce shows his true self. And while I do feel bad for Merikh, I know that his book will most likely be the best one. I'm invested in these stories and also look forward to seeing how Kronos, Quora play into the others. I absolutely feel bad for Quora, and hope she is able to escape Kronos or get some type of satisfaction or HEA, especially with all the babies that are going to pop out.

And the end! Holy nucking futs! Another cliffhanger, so be prepared!!

I don’t think a fallen angel has ever been so sexy or so complicated. 🥵 None of these monsters are what you think they would be and I absolutely love that. I adored getting to see the growth in both Quintessa and the boys. These books have a chokehold on my heart and I just adore them so much. The dynamic between them all is so different and that’s pretty amazing considering how different everyone is. Every book gives a little more about her and you learn more about her monsters as well. It’s so satisfying learning more about them piece by piece instead of all the information being thrown at you at once. It’s like unwrapping a present. It’s perfectly paced where you’re learning about the boys and watching Quintessa grow and heal. The characters keep you guessing at what is happening next and ,just like the last one, this book ends with you hanging off a cliff ready to dive into and devour the next one in the series. I am eagerly waiting to see what happens in the next book and learning more about the remaining monsters.

What a fantastic continuation! This was a high 4-4.5 star for me! I loved getting to know Kyan/Shadow, even though the switch between them was a lot sometimes. Not in a way like I didn't like it, it was just so frustrating how negative Shadow was about Quinn and when he would try to influence how Khan felt. BUT- I also understood. I also loved getting to know more about Merikh. He seems to be the most damaged and I can't help but love a damaged hero (err… villain? Either way 😅). That being said - Quinn has GOT to share more about herelf so these boys know what their choices could do to her. It's really interesting and also a little frustrating (in a good way) to see the boys vie for their dominance and struggle with their possessiveness with Quinn and try to find how they all fit together. I’m super excited for Merikh’s book but I’m glad that she's going with Mayce first. And POOR QORA.

The writing and world-building continues to be superb and you can't help but to keep reading! Off to start the third!!

So far I love all of Emily Shores books and this book is no exception, the 2nd book in her monstrous boys series.

Follow Quins journey with four fallen monster gods, a dragon, fae, angel and vampire.

This book includes, fast burn, fast paced and soooo SPICY. With an equally enthralling story line. I can't get enough of Quin and her monstrous boys. After living a life starved of touch, of never feeling a anything, she meets her monstrous boys and feels everything. This is the 2nd book in the series, focusing on Kyan and once you start you can't put it down until you've devoured every last word. I can't wait to read the 3rd book and learn more about the other monstrous boys.

Read the surrender and feel EVERYTHING with Quin and her monstrous boys. I promise this series won't disappoint, once you start you can't get enough.

OH MY GOODNESS. Continuing following our wonderful quintet of darkness we continue with the rollercoaster that is our Tessie claiming her men and them claiming her in return. If you haven’t read the Sacrifice , please do! This continuation is remarkable! I’m fell more in love with our boys and even shed a tear. My favorite quote from this book is, “I want to believe some prickle of light can pierce the veil of darkness that was our last encounter. That’s all I need. Just a slit. I’ll stretch it from there like I always do. Turn tears into laughter. Horror into beauty. And if Dawn can’t arrive, I’ll howl at the stars until they shine.” I have never related so much with a FMC. I cannot wait for the next book! I took my time with this one. I plan on rereading.

Reviewing as an ARC reader, this is my honest review.

I want to keep Kyan all for myself.

Book 2 was even better than book 1, in my opinion. The dynamic between Kyan and Merikh was interesting to explore and I loved that they showed that relationship. Even if the FMC is the center of the story and breaking the curse, the other relationships feel just as important. Quinny appreciates that and didn't try to get in the way of anything. I love that Quintessa seems even stronger now than in book 1 as well.

Kyan was so torn and has been so broken. I loved that the theme throughout this book is Surrender. You can't have a real love without it. And when your love story is this spicy, it's bound to get interesting.

FIRST OFF. LET ME SAY I HAVE RE READ THIS TWICE ALREADY.

Please for the live of all things good and pleasurable in the world be prepared and in a place you can read and enjoy this one handed because you will need to, numerous times. I didn’t think it could get better than The Sacrifice… I was entirely wrong. Emily just keeps giving with these characters and their growth and their ✨giving nature✨. I can NOT get enough.

To see how Quintessa has grown from her shell at the very start of book one to where she is now is incredible. There are still some battles to be had, and growth to go through, but she has endured and continues to persevere and push through what she’s been taught her whole life in order to embrace her new life. I’m absolutely enthralled.

Okay wow I….. just WOW. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

I have loved Emily for years but this surpassed all my wants for Kyan and Tessie! I felt as though Q is really learning her boys and how each love her for HER but show it in such different ways. Also, the fact that she is having to Let herself be loved, learn to love herself, she’s discovering how to love the others and show them that she loves them.

With the scene after she has pieced kyan back together and he invites her to watch OMFG I was on the edge of my seat. The new side of Merry that we got to experience (also how you were able to write the two of them going at it facing one another I still can’t wrap my mind around it, especially with her in between). Oh my heart. Idk if I can say anything else bc of feels.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This series is going to "break my brain" LOL. Last book ending left us with this pair in mid air having relations and to her surprise "it" vibrates (yes, you read it right). Then the situations is so intense, she end up passing out. Is that a tease enough for you? I love this book as much as I love the first, the spice is great but not for the faint of heart. Character development and the POV of their feelings/thoughts is amazing. The FMC sometimes gets on my nerves, because this girl never learns. Reverse harem is always a winner in my book and a list of trigger warnings to pair up with it is "chef's kiss". But this author left me hanging at the end again *cries*! Book 3 is coming soon but not soon enough for my dark/paranormal heart!!

Surrender

Surrender to him,

Surrender to them,

Surrender to feelings,

Surrender to the dark,

Surrender to the light and then you shall find your way.
For Quinn it’s hard to surrender to anything but numbness. Quinn has lived a hard, sad and lonely existence. She hasn’t truly lived because in the borderlands she was the grey ghost girl that felt nothing and was treated like nothing except for when she was saving lives.

But now Quinn is in the Court of Air and she must surrender to it all to break Kyanatu’s curse. But that won’t the only problem they will eventually have to face.

I really can’t wait to finally read Merikh’s book but let’s settle for Mayce for now. Great read from start to finish.

Y’all……this second book of the series took me by my throat, told me I was a good girl and made me submit! Kyan was the main focus in this book since he did steal Quinny and bring her to his realm to work on breaking his curse. We learn about another side of Kyan and boy is it a wild one 🥵😮‍💨. I loved the relationship between Kyan and Merikh but watching them work to bring Quintessa into that existing bond was everything. Strap in people because there are some big developments and surprises in this book and they had me all over the place from crying to screaming and jumping up and down! I’m obsessed with this series and salivating for the next book. Great job Emily!

ARC Review

If you loved the first book as much as I did you will be even more in love with this second book. The spice starts with the first page and doesn’t stop. I didn’t want to put it down.
Quintessa has been taken to Kyan’s castle where he is in charge. This Fallen Angel brings her to his castle where she meets the cursed people of his realm. They are suspicious of this mysterious woman he’s brought home after the tragedy the last woman brought with her. Will she be able to win the hearts and minds of his people all while trying to get to know Kyan and his Shadow.
This dark follow up to The Sacrifice will leave you needing more and more of her Monstrous Boys.

I received an ARC of this book (thank you again for letting me read part 2 of this super spicy series!) fast burn, why choose, monster, multiple partners, and wow!

Firstly, this book picks up right where the first left off. And let me tell you, that opening sequence does NOT disappoint!! Initially the romantic love making..then…

Drago was one thing but Kyan took things to a whole other level.

I dare you to watch your inner brat became the submissive good girl while reading this

While The Surrender was darker than the first of this series, it was quite the ride!

Looking forward to book three where we will learn all about Daddy Mayce.

- ARC Review -

After reading and absolutely loving The Sacrifice, this continuation did not disappoint in the slightest.
Another wonderfully written story. More spice, suspense and action!
This book centres around Kyan - the fallen angel god. There is so much character and plot development. We got to see so much vulnerability and growth from these amazing characters. I loved the darkness of Kyan's court. It was incredibly easy to visualise the setting. Quintessa - or more often than not Quinny in this book - was once again burdened with challenges that she must battle through. I absolutely love her resilience.
If dark fantasy is your thing, then this series is a must read. It fulfils on many dark themes and tropes, has many triggers that you should be aware of beforehand.

4 gorgeous monster gods worshiping a strong, beautiful, and flawed woman. A journey of self-discovery for all 5 of them.

Emily Shore has captivated me with her worlds full of wonder and spice plus great story lines and character development, but she has outdone herself this time.

I plunged into the world of The Surrender and surrendered myself while reading. During one of the worst weeks of my life, The Surrender gave me a getaway of ups and downs, surprises, and awe. At the end, I was begging for more.
If you love lots of 🌶 with great story lines, then you must read The Sacrifice and The Surrender!
