Who says a book needs conflict to be enjoyable? Okay, technically I said it many years ago when I read: Henry and Mudge and the Best Day of All, and then again when I read: The Trolley Car Family, but Sesame Street actually can be entertaining without conflict.
Just look at this:
Oscar finishes his book, Mother Grouch Rhymes. "Little Boy Grouch, come blow your kazoo. Take a mud bath and eat anchovy stew..." He closes his book. Sleep tight, sleepy grouch.
That's way more entertaining than a birthday party were the only conflict was that the kids didn't know what to do when they arrived (which was resolved on the very next page).
I received the book at no cost to me, but the opinion is my own. It was just the right difficulty level for my 2nd grader to read mostly on her own, with exceptions of a few hard words. Well-done!
My daughter loves this book. we read it over and over again. she enjoys three bright colors, and I ask her to point to different things on each page. I think it's one of her favorites.
