All Chloe Grant has ever wanted was to be a pillar of truth in a world of lies. Her hunt for answers led her to a career in investigative journalism, and that led to a relationship with Luke, the sexy Air Force pilot with a quiet wit and captivating smile. Everything was going great, then one breaking story opened a chasm so wide, neither had been able to build a bridge. Not that he’d been able to stay out of her bed, though. Which only made things worse.

Luke Miller has only ever dreamed of flying. He escaped in the sky. Countless flight hours earned him a spot flying in the Air Force’s Special Operations Command, until one op-gone-wrong grounded him permanently. But he was quickly recruited into Anderson Security, and back into the cockpit. He got to fly, he got the girl. Everything was going great, then Chloe sunk her teeth into a case that jeopardized everything Luke had worked so hard to regain. But it wasn’t enough to for him to leave her permanently. And that was a problem.

As Alpha Team rushes to capture their next best lead taking down a ruthless arms dealer, Chloe and Luke discover that only honesty can ensure a safe landing.

It’s up to Luke and Alpha Team to decipher the secrets written in the sky.

A good story lives somewhere between believability and fantastic imagination.

Leigh has been writing for about as long as she’s been able to hold a pen. What started as gibberish lines only interpretable into wild tales by a child’s eyes evolved into sensorial short stories and finally landed in the realm of mystery and intrigue.

An avid reader, Leigh discovered a passion for the genre when her mother purchased her the entire collection of Nancy Drew books. As her enthusiasm for reading and writing expanded, Leigh ventured into new topics and categories, but always came home to a good whodunit with a happily ever after.

Leigh loves a good mystery and characters you can fall in love with. Her stories tie together situational suspense, intense emotion, and a pinch of humor. Oh, and a splash of spice, too. They always have a happy ending, even while they still keep readers guessing about what will happen next.

Another amazing read, J.M Leigh never misses. This was a second chance romance which is not my favorite trope which definitely made me less invested into the romance (which was still really good just not for me) in addition it does have the miscommunication trope. However the mystery/case the team are working on really picks up in the second book which got me super hooked, plus Madi and Chloe get kitten which need I say more. I loved getting to see Madi and Teddy again in this book and can’t wait for the third book to be out to follow that romance and for the mystery to continue.

Alpha team book 2.
.
This book was so good! Luke an ex Air Force pilot turned “private security” and Chloe a journalist hell bent on getting the story are madly in love but just can’t seem to work through the obstacles placed in front of them .
.
This book has a little of everything- love at first sight, lovers turned enemies, miscommunication🤮, danger , kitten rescues 😍, secrets and lies , go to the ends of the earth to find you . And you got to still keep up with the main characters from the first book ! Yes it can be a little cheesy at times and all to coincidental but that’s what romance books are for …..
.
I cannot wait for the third book to come out I’m dying for
Max’s story !!!!!
.
Yes read this for sure !

Misinformation is the second installment in the Anderson Security Alpha Team series. The story line is a continuation of the first book in the series. You definitely need to read Misdirection before reading Misinformation. This is a dual POV format, however the chapters do not tell you whose POV you are reading, you need to know that odd numbered chapters are in Chloe's POV and even numbered chapters are in Luke's POV.

The story line for Misinformation begins exactly where the cliffhanger in book one leaves off. Leigh does a good job at weaving in the important facts from Book 1 that are needed to understand what is going on in Misinformation, which meant I could recall the details from reading the previous book without having to go back and reread the last couple of chapters. Book 1 in the series lays out the Suspense and Mystery of the story line with a Sweet Romance story more on the sidelines. This book focuses more on Luke and Chloe's relationship story with the Mystery and Suspense as the additional element. This does not mean that Misinformation was lacking in suspenseful moments, the Alpha team is still full on action and suspense while working the Op. The twists and turns in Misinformation's plot were a little easier to predict than in book 1, this is most likely due to the familiarity of the story line. Like book 1, this one ends on a huge cliffhanger. There are very few mildly spicy scenes, a small amount of violence and a lot of feels.

After reading Misdirection, I was looking forward to seeing more of Luke and whom he was hiding his love for. I already liked Luke, we got a glimpse of his protective demeanor in book 1. I grew to love and feel for him more and more with each chapter I read. I was not expecting to dislike Chloe throughout most of the book. I spent more chapters yelling at Chloe and her choices than I have at any other Female Main Character in a long time. Eventually, towards the very end of the book, she was able to win me over. Once I finished the entire book, I understood why she had to be the way she was, but I still did not like it!

I recommend this book readers that enjoy Over Protective Male Main Characters, Second Chance Romance, Suspense and Mystery and books with an on going story line in a series.

Misinformation
By: JM Leigh
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Tropes:
🛩️: Miscommunication
🛩️: Second Chance Romance
🛩️: Found Family
🛩️: “Mine”
🛩️: Mystery

First off I want to thank you JM Leigh for the arc opportunity in exchange for an honest review!

This is the sequel to Misdirection and omg I really enjoyed reading Luke and Chloe’s story. I loved how well that JM was able to interconnect these two books without a major gap. You were able to get a good sense of everything going on even if you didn't read the first book! One major thing I cann appreciate is the fact that she put the start of the relationship between Luke and Chloe and how cutsie it was. I loved being able to meet and see them get to know one another.

Miscommunication trope is one trope I dont like in books, but I think it was done well here. I wanted to jump through the pages and bang their heads together because they were making themselves unhappy. They both had things they needed to work on before they were able to rekindle their spark and when they did, they were able to get their second chance.

Chloe is a strong, level headed female character. She was confident in her career, which is journalism and she was going to get that story no matter what. Luke is a strong, alpha male that will stop at nothing to protect Chloe, even if it means hurting her. He has demons that he needed to work through (dont we all) but the chemistry and passion I felt from these two was amazing. At the gala when he said “You. Are. Mine” oh lordy did it get hot in the room. Overall I will def be continuing this series and cannot wait for Max’s book since he was one of my favs!!!

💫5/5 |🌶️ 3/5 | Mystery / Suspense | Second Chance Romance | Dual POV| Found Family| Special Ops Teams | Team Dynamics | TWs: Torture, PTSD

What an amazing sequel to Misdirection! I am absolutely obsessed with Alpha Team! EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. THEM. Misinformation tells the story of Luke & Chloe but has an interconnected plot with the first book, Misdirection. @authorjmleigh wove everything in so seamlessly, it’s as if I just read the first one yesterday. Can I just say how much I LOVED having so much of Madi & Theo here that I am still wrapped around their little bubble. We are lucky enough to get to see the continuation of their relationship with Leigh still managing to keep the focus on Luke & Chloe. Fantastic! May I quote “Theo’s jealousy is “Legendary” when it comes to Madi”. I died.

There is a lot more action and suspense in Misinformation that kept me at the edge of my seat. But also, our MCs romantic story is more emotionally driven in comparison to the MCs of book 1. This is a second chance romance trope and I appreciate that we get a background of how their instalove came to be and turned into what the relationship was presently. I wasn’t sure how I would respond to the miscommunication aspect of Luke & Chloe’s relationship, but I ate it up! BEWARE of Chapter 9, because it absolutely broke me. I heard every word and felt every emotion between our MCs – the longing, the restraint, the pain & anguish – all of it!

Chloe is another strong, level-headed FMC. She was fearless and confident in her abilities as a journalist. Luke is our fiercely protective, charming, and subtlety confident pilot. The passion and chemistry between them both will draw you in. We get the pining and the angst that will make you want to scream as they navigate the weird situation of having been broken up for a year, but they can’t seem to stay away from each other. The description of Luke’s scent as sea salt & sage (OMG – one of my faves from Jo Malone – ughhhh sexy!) and during the gala where Luke said “You. Are. Mine” – died AGAIN. LOL

If you’ve read book 1, you already know that there are a lot of secondary characters and Leigh continues to find the perfect balance in showcasing each of them without taking away from our MCs. There is this perfect flow of each of their stories that carried on from book 1 and gives you a glimpse of what to expect. Amazing! I can’t wait for Max’s book!!!

Like a moth to the flame Chloe and Luke can not stay away from one another. Their careers keep them in limbo of being able to be together. Both stubborn to a fault, both feel that eternal pull to one another. This is their second chance.

With an interconnected plot from book 1, misdirection. Chloe is a journalist and Luke a pilot on the alpha team, but Chloe can’t know that or anything really to do with what Luke actually does for work. Every turn she takes she’s getting unknowingly more involved in Luke’s special ops.

The spice is spicing. The chemistry and connection undeniable. Their attitudes and communication frustrating, but rightfully so. Action. Mystery. Bullets, bombs & banging.

Really giving this a 4.5!

And the only reason it lost .5 was because I wanted Chloe to take some responsibility too, but with how we got to see a bit more of Theo & Madi in this book, I'm thinking we're gonna get more Chloe & Luke as they continue their journey when Misconception comes out....can't wait!

I really love Alpha Team and this series so far, the characters have so much depth and it's awesome how we see personalities of all the team shine through.

Chloe & Luke went through alot as we continue on the bigger op to work out who's on The List, and bring down the big bad guy. Lots of suspense, push & pull, low > med spice.

Misinformation by J.M. Leigh

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️

✅ Action/ Suspense

✅ Strangers to lovers to enemies to lovers
✅ Found Family
✅ Ex-Military/ Current Black Ops H
✅ Reporter h
✅ Dual POV

TW: Kidnapping, Torture and PTSD.

Misinformation is the second book in the Anderson Security series. This book follows the teams pilot, Luke and his on again-off again reporter girlfriend, Chloe!

When they met their jobs weren’t so intertwined. Luke was a pilot in the Air Force and Chloe was covering mostly puff pieces. When life happens and he changes to “private VIP security” and she starts covering more dangerous stories their relationship becomes complicated. He’s afraid of her losing him and of losing her if she gets too involved and gets hurt. They simply cannot work it out. But they also can’t stay out of each others beds. When Chloe reports on a story that intersects with Luke’s teams current Op, everyone is put in danger.

Will Luke and his team be able to keep her safe? Will Chloe be able to get her story? Will they be able to put their differences aside to be able to be together without ripping each others heads off?

I loved this book! It was the second book in the series (Misdirection is first) and I definitely recommend starting at the beginning (I loved Theo and Madi’s story as well!). I love that the plot is continuous and that the story keeps progressing!

Thank you to J.M. Leigh for an ARC of this book! My review is mine and freely given!

After reading Misdirection, I ran to find the next book in the series and it didn't disappoint. Great to see the whole team again and the characters from the previous book. The background suspense story continues in this book so best to read them in order. Lots of angst in this book as the two characters, Luke and Chloe, battle to sort out their feelings for one another. They are both in love but she is a journalist and he doesn't trust her to choose him over her job. Well worth a read and I cannot for the next in the series. Bring it on!

Misinformation is Book 2 in the Anderson Security Series.
It is an exciting second chance romantic suspense that keeps you enthralled and not wanting to put it down.
Luke is an ex Air Force Pilot who now works for Anderson Security. And Chloe is a journalist.
These two are in love, and have been through a lot and just can't seem to make things work.
J.M. Leigh writes some amazing characters and I cannot wait for more!

4.5/5 stars!

I am going to work my hardest to keep this review succinct and spoiler free.. I think the latter will be a challenge but the former will be the real difficulty. I received an ARC for review, all opinions are my own and given freely! And trust, this is a *fraction* of said opinions but I did say I would keep it spoiler-free ;)

WHEN I TELL YOU THIS COUPLE HAD ME SHOUTING, I mean it - literally saying “oh, come ON, dude - are you serious??” Or “Sis.. you sure about that??”

Chloe and Luke’s is a tale as old as time - the physical chemistry is there (and boy is she THERE-there, you know what I’m saying?) but the other stuff? Like, the emotional and mental and trust stuff? That’s where it gets dicey for our angst-ridden lovebirds. They have history riddled with passion but most recently that passion has ended in blow-out fights as they each question the motives of the other.

JM Leigh has done an OUTSTANDING job of layering in the right amount of emotional complexity, trauma-related trust issues, character growth and thriller-suspense while keeping this vibing like a real honest-to-god relationship.

If you like:
- James Bond in the Daniel Craig era (think haute-couture gala, charming the bad guy, secrets-on-secrets-on-secrets)
- Second chance romance where he has to grovel (on his knees - IYKYK ;))
- Dual POV so you can get inside the brain of both characters, thus allowing you to question BOTH of them and their inability to compromise (we stan an equal opportunity chance to share emotional growth)
Then you’ll want to add this to your TBR - and while you don’t HAVE to read the first book in the Anderson Security series, Misdirection, I would strongly encourage it. You’ll meet Madi and Teddy there first, along with the rest of Alpha Team. And you’re gonna want to get to know them because Misconception is on deck next and after reading the teaser at the end of this one? PHEW, Y’ALL.

The adventure continues in Misinformation, where the Alpha Team is still trying to hunt down the bad guy by building clues to help solve the case! This part of the adventure centers around Luke and Chloe.

Luke, a former military pilot, immediately fell for Chloe three years ago when they met at a bar. She was just starting her journalism career and needed help with a case, and he volunteered. They spent the next several days together, trying to solve the case, and when they finally did, he knew he couldn’t let her go.

Fast forward three years, their relationship is anything but easy. Chloe has made a name for herself in the journalism world, and Luke has been with Anderson Security since he got out of the military. They are on opposite pages when it comes to information: he needs to keep things secret for his job, and she needs to blow stories wide open for hers. Luke can’t seem to trust her because, unbeknown to her, she blew one of their cases after Luke told her to stop digging. It's been push and pull for years. Their physical intimacy isn’t the problem. It’s what comes after: the fights and blowups.

Chloe finds herself in the middle of the biggest story of her life. After she publishes it, she can’t help but feel like someone is watching her. The Alpha Team has been keeping tabs on her and now she is in danger, so they all go to a safehouse. She is reluctant to spend that much time with Luke, but she has no other choice.

Neither side will budge on information. Chloe wants to keep her source safe and the Alpha Team can’t just tell anyone information in the name of National Security. Chloe doesn’t understand how deep the case goes. She wants to keep working on the story so she sneaks out of the safehouse to meet an anonymous source and finds herself in a load of trouble.

More clues come to fruition and now the Alpha Team has to save Chloe and find more pieces of the puzzle.

There is so much angst, longing and love between Chloe and Luke. Throughout this story, they fall apart, deeper than they ever have and they both have to learn how to be who each other needs again before it’s too late.

***ARC Review***

A masterpiece of a sequel in the Alpha Team series! I was worried I wouldn't remember the details from the past book, but they were woven in so that they weren't redundant, but extremely helpful. This author is amazing at describing internal struggle while depicting how those play out. You can't help but feel as though you're there, and I even caught myself mimicking their facial expressions. All of the characters feel so important to the story as well, which lends to the family-feel the characters have with each other. I can't tell you how much I enjoy getting a glimpse into all of the characters, knowing they all will eventually have their own stories. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.

It's been a long time since I read a second chance novel. I do like getting to see both sides as well since the characters both interpret things differently. Luke's protectiveness and Chloe's stubbornness fueled why they broke up, and both of those are constant throughout the book. They agree to work on it, and then something shatters that outlook again. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for them to get their crap together. Through the danger, twists, kittens, and multiple attempts on her life, Luke and Chloe try to navigate a cooperative relationship while their personal one tugs on their heartstrings.

.
.
.
.

Luke and Chloe definitely had a great relationship in the past, but when life changed for both of them, they couldn't work past how that was supposed to be with them together. Luke kept trying to protect Chloe, thinking that leaving her in the dark was going to keep her and the team safe. Chloe didn't heed any of Luke's warnings because she thought that she was able to get all of her information safely. After she uncovers some important, secret information, she has to be taken into a safe house for her own safety.. with Luke.

Leigh is back with the second book from her Anderson Security (Alpha team) series. This time with Chloe & Luke. Luke is an ex-Special AirForce pilot & Chloe a journalist. The secrets these two keep from each other (with questionable reason) drives a huge non-trusting wedge between them, but they cannot stay away from each other physically.

Leighs writing dragged me into this world, this was fast paced and held my attention throughout, giving me clues here and there to keep me guessing on the story/case they were working. The suspense had my heart rate all over the place.
The emotional side. Ahh I was rooting for these two but Leigh toyed with me. The physical attraction between them was so good & includes grovelling.. On the knees 😮‍💨 Character growth was amazing for our MCs both individually and together. Unravelling the case, whilst working on themselves & their relationship. Leigh was a genius tying it all together.

Misdirection (Book1) id highly recommend reading first BUT it isnt needed because we get subtle reminders throughout. Special shoutout to Me Leigh for another cover well done. You guys make a very talented duo.

If you like second chance, angsty, dual POV, suspense romance then please go read this. I said this would be explosive in my Misdirection review and Leigh gave us just that! I cannot wait for Misconception.

Read if you like:
- second chance
- romantic suspense
- found family
- jealousy, pining and groveling (so good!!)
- special ops team and missions

I really loved this book, and like the first one, it read like an action romance movie! I loved the found family in this book. It was so well done, and the friendships formed just elevated the romance and plot for me. The Madi and Theo moments were also everything. Seeing their relationship play out after book one, as well as the challenges they face and how they deal with it, was so refreshing. It felt so good to be back with these characters.

Chloe was a fiery heroine and the push/pull between her and Luke had me hooked. Luke has his missteps but he always made up for it. The jealousy/pining scenes in the book, in addition to the groveling, had me swooning! Some of the best groveling I've read. I also loved how he calls her honey!!

The end of the book also set up the next book so well, and I can't wait for it. There's one case that's followed in the series, and even though a lot gets resolved in book two, there are questions that leave you wanting to read book three and meet the next couple. Can't wait for that book to come out!

Thank you so much to the author for an advanced copy of the book. I am on J.M. Leigh's ARC team but that did not impact my review or thoughts on the book.

First off I have to say, Fucking. Luke!!!! I wish I could have jumped in that book and shake that man!! What a dummy! But it made the book soo good! I hate men who can't commit but watching his internal struggles kept me hanging on to every word of Misinformation! The battle of wanting to protector but also wanting to not get his heart broken!!!
Do not even get me started on Chloe! I absolutely loved her! Strong and independent and the I don't need a man energy was everything! Her friendship she had and was forming with the rest of the Alpha crew made my heart so happy!
I loved still seeing Madi and Teddy's relationship throughout the book as a side story, watching them go through their own struggles was so refreshing. Continuing to get to know the rest of the Alpha crew was just the cherry on top, diving more into their personalities and little sneaks into their past.
Misinformation was easier for me to follow, then Misdirection. I cannot wait to see what happen in Max's book in the winter!

The second book in the Alpha series is just as phenomenal as the first. Luke and Chloe‘s heartache and hurt and frustration with each other is overwhelming. The walls they have built up from each other are so strong, but the love that they have for each other is unquestionable. The amount of adversity they have to overcome and the amount of growth they each have to put in as substantial. They are both the better for it and for each other. This book has all the suspense, thrills action and laughter that is to be expected. It’s a fabulous addition to the series and I cannot wait to see where the team goes after this.

I received an ARC copy for review. All opinions are my own and given freely.

I was so excited to continue on with the Anderson Security Team's story after just having finished the first book in the series, Misdirection, a few weeks ago. Each book follows a different couple but has overlapping characters and stories in both books. I was not disappointed.

This was full of longing, angst, and spicy just like the first book. It still has all the mystery/ thriller elements as well. These are such unique stories I completely eat up. I couldn't put it down because I needed to know what twist or turn was going to come next.

There will be a third book coming out in winter, and I am so excited to get to experience that as well.

I loved this story! I was eager to find out more about Luke (MMC) and Chloe’s (FMC) love story after reading Misdirection (book 1), and I was not disappointed! This book still has all the action and suspense that book 1 has, but it is more emotionally driven, and I loved it!

Luke and Chloe are both headstrong and love their jobs, which placed a lot of roadblocks in their path. There is a huge lack of communication, but given their careers I understand why, so I was not bothered by this at all. If you strongly dislike the miscommunication trope, just be warned.

Aside from the romance, the plot was very enjoyable! I had a hard time putting this book down and I can’t wait to see where Leigh takes the story from here. Leigh does an incredible job with the found family trope in this book. She enriches the character development of the side characters without taking anything away from the two MCs. I am very excited to read the next book when it comes out!

Just like in book 1, there are no chapter headlines indicating the switch in POV so make sure to read the reader’s note at the beginning.

Luke and Chloe are 🔥 their chemistry is volatile in every way. Witnessing their relationship issues wasn’t the most enjoyable part of the book but the story line and angst really kept it going.
