Sarah lives in California, in a home that brings her happiness and hay fever. She loves God, loves her family, and loves freshly brewed coffee. She has a husband who cooks, a son who stop animates, a daughter who loves animals, a dog that follows her everywhere, and a turtle who scowls at her condescendingly.
Her mother raised her on Mary Higgins Clark, Diane Mott Davidson, and Remington Steele. Her grandmother shared True Crime stories with her as they plotted how to get away with the perfect murder. It's no surprise that Sarah became an award-winning spinner of suspenseful tales brimming with quirky characters. Mysteries are in her blood. Not that she could survive one of her own stories. She confesses, "I'd be snuffed out by chapter two."

The Raven, an omen of death, marked his victims with his shadow, gave Penny Nicols a few musical clues to start the “game”, and then killed his latest choices within 24 hours of the first Raven mark. The evil creature has followed her since she was a child and gone after anyone she made friends with. Moving to Riley’s Canyon and meeting the Morris sisters had allowed her to defeat the Raven multiple times and she has reunited with her heartthrob, Titus Church. They were not dating but their friendship was beginning to change. She was almost certain the Raven would be back very soon. Hummingbirds were the Raven’s opposition and she will be getting a tattoo of one very soon.
A group of friends head toward Musing Pines to celebrate the Harvest Moon Festival. The Raven targets some attendees and one of Penny’s friends. Now the time is ticking and Penny must follow the musical clues to thwart the Raven before she loses her friend. Will she stop him in time? Or has her luck failed her?
So, Penny and co. are off to a fair where Jade is selling cinnamon buns from Delish Mode. Penny sees a whole group of people marked by ravens, and is a bit wary about the whole thing. Then Scrub is also marked and she's really worried. Anyway, it turns out that the problem is that the coffee has nuts in it, and all the people allergic to nuts have reactions and have to be saved with Epi-Pens and trips to the hospital. What really bothered me was that her sister's full name turns out to be Agatha Christie Nicols. Like really? I mean, I thought Tuppence was a weird name, but Agatha Christie is weirder 🤨

Allow about two hours for this family-friendly paranormal mystery that has Penny Nichols and Spades united with Titus Church and his friend Scrubbs in Riley's Canyon at the Twisted Sisters Tattoo Parlor late in October whence they venture with older sister Jade Morris to nearby Musing Pines for the Harvest Moon Festival.

I LOVED this book. Penny and Titus are finally in the same place, and she's hoping that she won't see the raven. Sadly, she sees a raven and must race against time to stop it. Penny is one of my favourite characters, and I think she is fun and super strong. I look forward to each new book.
