Wood’s Justice by Steven Becker is the latest installment in the Mac Travis series. This book is set in the Virgin Islands with a few new characters, the return of Pip, and inclusion of Kurt Hunter from another series by Steven Becker. This book involves the search for historic pirate treasure in the Virgin Islands. Pip travels to the Virgin Islands to assist an old friend. He gets kidnapped and the kidnapper reaches out to Mac regarding Pip’s safety. Mac travels to the Virgin Islands to see if he can rescue Pip. The release of Pip is based on Mac assisting with some treasure hunting. The new characters are the wife and daughter of an old friend of Mac from the Florida Keys.
I really enjoy these stories by Steven Becker that involve the treasure hunts that he has been involved in several of the novels in the Mac Travis series and his pirate adventure Tides of Fortune series set in the 1700’s. These are good quick reads that give you a good idea of the geography where the novel is set.
As has been the story, Mac is trying to figure out where to go with his life. Suddenly things get more exciting when he receives a message that his friend Pip is in trouble. He quickly makes the decision to go to the Virgin Islands to save his friend where he finds out that another person he knew was not dead but had been living there instead under an assumed name. Danger and romance follow him and when he is forced to dive and find treasure, he has to unravel everything to learn the real story. No way to put this one down without reading through to the end!!

Another Woods adventure that held me to the end. I kept reading and could hardly put it down. I wanted to go on to the next chapter on and on to the end. But I didn't want it to be over. Great read!
In any literature class you’re taught there is a protagonist and an antagonist. I could not identify any antagonist in this book. You’re also taught that there is rising action, a climax, and falling action. There was no real action in this book. Just Mac Travis looking for hidden treasure.
3 Stars Probably my least favorite book in the Mac Travis series. Mel leaving and taking a job out of state changed Mac and not for the best. He's in his own head far too much. It was also strange for Tru and Pamela to be thought about but not part of the story. Even Pip wasn't his usual self.
I'm amazed that this author can write so many fantastic novels, I hope that he never stops writing. His books are some of the best Entertainment I have read and worth the time to read them. Thank you for a very fun entertaining read.
