It's decent. For me, this was too much story and not enough smut.

Rowan (18) is working and studying her butt off so she can move away from her trailer-trash life and abusive mother. Mommy dearest brings home stud muffin, Ryker (38, sheriff) for a drunken romp. Ryker knows he was wearing his drunk goggles for that one and regrets it, until he faces off with Rowan in the kitchen.

Bada bing bada boom - Rowan and Ryker are together. I don't like the fact that he'd previously hooked up with her mom. Yuck. Also, I'm noticing that Landry Hill's FMCs are never virgins. I don't know if that's a plus or minus in your column.

Still - it's decent. OH - PS - it overlaps with "Unruly". Both can be read as standalones if you wanted.

I liked this story a lot. I love the age gap trope and forbidden element to the story. Rowan is an 18 yr old whose mother neglects her and stays drunk a lot. Her mom brings home a man one night and the next morning he meets Rowan and falls head over heels for her. His name is Ryker and he is 20 yrs older than her. He's a sheriff with a reputation to uphold while he tries to bring down dirty cops. He can't help his feelings for Rowan, but she needs a little more convincing. I loved this story and the characters' chemistry. This story is a novella, I only wished it were longer.

Ryker and Rowan are so hot together. I couldn't get enough of their story. I loved how their chemistry jumped off the page, and no matter how much they resisted each other, they couldn't help gravitating towards each other. This short story gave me all the feels, and I loved how protective Ryker instantly was of Rowan. He always encouraged her and supported her needs, which Rowan never had growing up. These two were fire!

What in God’s name did I just read 😭🤚🏼 I know this is supposed to be fast paced but come on. They knew each other 3 days and are saying they’re in love? Also “when you get off work, can I lick your ice cream cone?”

Also if you don’t like the daddy/little girl kink don’t read this. I don’t dislike the “daddy” thing I just didn’t realize this book was going to be all about that. Yes I knew it was age gap. No I did not realize he was going to literally be talking to her like she was 12. “Since you’re mad at mommy, can I be your wife?” LIKE ???????????????

As a cop wife I was hoping for a steamy cop romance, and I’m not saying this was entirely NOT that, but it’s not what I was expecting it to be either 💀 idk the dialogue was just cringe to me. I liked the cop car scene and when he said he was going to ground her. That’s basically it.

All I can say is Daddy Ryker! Phew! This is an age gap with some revenge and hawt, HAWT spice! A sassy 18 year old and a sexy older cop… and the scene on the cruiser… IYKYK 🥵🔥 I loved the dynamic between the two - the struggle at first because she misunderstood, and he thought he was too old for her… but when they finally give in and get together, 💣💥🔥😮‍💨

This short novella is super hot. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I want more. More history and more of these characters.
Their attraction and banter was steamy. Their only issues were the lack of words they used because they were too caught up in the list they were feeling. There are a few triggers so make sure you read them. Things alluded to in the past not experienced in the story.
For a quick, spicy read, it gave all the feels.

Man I'm really feeling ambivalent about this story. I loved how Ryker was instantly obsessed with Rowan. But what really irked me personally was that he had a night with the mother and Rowan heard it(before they saw each other ), but that's just me😉 This was a really hot and steamy Instalove story, age gap, romantic, with revenge and a bit action with a HEA 😍😍😍 personally not my favorite story in this series, but I still found it really really enjoyable 😃

Well Written Novella

This was right up my alley.
The writing is MUCH better than I usually see in novellas. I don’t remember any typos or plot points left hanging, and there was no beating of dead horses or idiotic behavior just for the sake of drama⭐️
The main characters are already strong going into the story, and we get to enjoy a nice bit of their development/self-discovery as their relationship develops and they learn to work together in their fight for their own future and for justice. I really like that they are initially drawn together by mutual attraction, but they fall in love as they each learn about the other’s admirable character ⭐️
The spice is HAWT and plentiful. Daddy kink is prevalent and oh so naughty but not cringey⭐️
The make or break factor for me is always consent, which is present and accounted for⭐️
Finally, REVENGE! There’s no ridiculous, soft-hearted forgiveness and pardons for the bad guys. They all deserved to suffer violently, and that is exactly what they got, though it was mostly implied. I do enjoy a little more violence actually on page⭐️
Now I’m off to read the Caprizio series

First time reading Landry Hill and let me tell you she has got a new follower (aka me).

Hearing yet another one of her evil mothers one nite stands is nothing new for Rowan. Getting an eye full of a man that is drool worthy and knows which buttons to push has Rowan feeling irritated smexually.

Ryker is captivated by the smart mouth girl and knows he has met his match.

This has dirty cops, revenge, age gap, daddy/little kink, its a perfect read if you are looking for a quick read.

Holy hot damn, was this book so good. If you’re not into DDlg, then maybe avoid. But if that’s your thing plus: dirty cops, age gaps and spice, then stop - do not pass go, read this book! I loved the push and pull between Ryker and Rowan. Rowan is super bratty and as someone who is also a brat IRL, it had me kicking my legs! Def. recommend if you want a quick and spicy read!

Resisting: An Age Gap

Talk about fast and steamy!! This book is short and it gets right to the point. This is a Daddy/Dom book with an age gap! Row is firey as her red hair and her strong personality whew. Strong FMC character who gets stronger each chapter. MMC is the same way. He falls first and hard core! I loved this book its was a great book to get out of my book slump!

Rowan and Ryker

Ryker, Is the police officer that hates injustice against innocent people. He investigating crooked cops on the force. Rowan is a student and a hardworking female of eighteen. Her mother was a abusive person especially verbally to her only child and daughter Rowan. This story is hot and spicy. With a great happy ending.

I actually really loved this book. The only bad thing was that Rowan was still in High School. I really like the age gap books, but making it so they are still in school is a bit much- especially when he's the sheriff and almost 40. It doesn't talk much about school though so you can pretend that part isn't really part of the story

The daddy kink was just a big fat no! He is an officer of the law that reads more like a mean frat boy. I get it’s a story but there were so many cringe worthy moments. This was a definite fail all the way around. I’m not sure this author is for me.

I was not a huge fan of the H being with her mom first. Then it became quite annoying how he assumed a lot of stuff instead of asking the h. The misunderstandings/miscommunication trope is probably my least favorite. Some of the scenes were really hot though.

The spice was definitely there. I’m not a huge fan of the daddy stuff but otherwise I really enjoyed the book.

The fact that he had hooked up with MFC’s mom first was just eek to me. I just don’t think I would ever touch that with some gloves and a ten foot pole.
