...except it would not be easy to get anything out of her; she was too used to the world of politics, of secrecy and deals to be caught in an indiscretion.~but the reader can't help wishing this second book in the series featured a cast of characters less... drippy.
This country is run on one set of principles while pretending to another.- and as Vidal revealed much more adroitly (and seriously) in his play / film 'The Best Man'.
