It is one of the better books in the series for the Clinical Psych program. I found the Gladding text, insightful, easy to read, and practical. This is one I'll keep and reference in the future. I think the 8th edition has some solid changes and takes in a lot of new information from previous editions. It appears to be a worthwhile upgrade, but I mean, all these books are pricey, so meh.
