This is one more of Spike Milligans’s informal recollections of his time during WWII. Starting from his call up and training to his dispatchment to the North African campaign. I know we are reviewing books but will say I listened to an audio version. This is a further book in the series and is narrated by Spike. If you enjoyed Spike’s humour then it’s a very enjoyable experience. You can hear him struggling at times not to laugh at the various incidents in his enforced army career. And at the same time it has pathos and tragedy that he witnessed directly.
