Wolves mate for life. For better or worse. I’ve lived it all--the good, the bad, and the ugly. Still, I don’t back down on my commitments. Living with Annie isn’t always easy and some things need to change. I need to change. But the damage runs deep. Will we be able to overcome our past and start again?
Julie Trettel is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Paranormal Romance. She comes from a long line of story tellers. Writing has always been a stress reliever and escape for her to manage the crazy demands of juggling time and schedules between work and an active family of six. In her “free time,” she enjoys traveling, reading, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.
This was a little different than some of Trettel’s other books, but I really enjoyed it. There was a little less action as far as the teams saving others goes, but I think it was necessary so as not to over shadow Tucker’s story. Even though it was heartbreaking, I was glad to finally get a glimpse into Tucker & Annie’s relationship; it was worse than I imagined. Most of us don’t think about abuse coming from the female in a relationship, so I applaud Trettel for bringing awareness to that. Tucker is such a good guy and knowing that he could have physically stopped Annie (but didn’t) was frustrating but is probably something that happens in similar situations. Seeing the after effects from the abuse Tucker suffered was eye opening, too. The effects of abuse are long lasting but we may not always realize that. I was so happy Tucker and Abby found each other, though! Some very good things happened and it is a great book!
A New Prospect was simply amazing, Julie Trettel. From a reader's perspective, I just loved it on so many levels! Tucker was over-due for happiness and loved how the Westin shifter community bonded together from Birdie, to Annie, to Abby, to Annie (yet again) & her family. I loved the internal growth of Tucker and all the progress he made.
As an aspiring writer, I am in awe of your writing. I feel as if this is your best piece-- ever! I am amazed how you took so many plot strands throughout the years, and wove them together into a seamless plot like a complex tapestry pattern on your loom. Your shifter origin tale hit its full bloom here and was so apropos.
When I closed my Kindle last night, as a reader I was 100% satisfied. This morning I read the bonus chapter and loved the direction in which the next book is going. Honestly I doubt I can start a new book tonight. I feel as if I need to bask in all that is A New Prospect and let it deeply percolate... like a good pot of coffee.
This book has become my favorite one. I have wished Tucker to fine his true mate but he had a compatible mate. Annie is not the best person since the moment she came into Delta’s series . But Julie always told us to give Annie a chance to get to know her. But sometime we just have to wish really hard for Tucker to find his really true mate lol. Hope Tucker can fine his one true mate.
This book is amazing and will keep you on your toes. It covers so many aspects and point of views that it could be a movie in the making. The details and struggles will have you in love and torn all at the same time. The individuals in this story go through so much to get to where they are meant to be. Sometimes we choose one thing and then FATE has a way of telling whether it is right or wrong. I love the imagery that Julie puts in this story and the challenges that make this HEA worth it. There is chemistry, heat, love, understanding, and acceptance all in one story. Cant wait to see what is in store for Team Delta and all of their family members. It is so worth the read!
I love all her books so far. Some just touch the heart a little more than others. I couldn't wait for Tucker to have his second chance without Annie. This book gives a little more insight into how much worse it was than you could see in the previous books. I'm so glad he gets that fresh start. Abigail is a new wolf and has to adjust to this new reality. She's very sweet and kind. You like her immediately. The story itself was great, and I'll most likely read it again, like all her books. There were some points that probably could have been more fully developed. But overall, it's a great book.
I absolutely loved this book. Tucker's story was highly anticipated and did not disappoint. Julie Trettel created the villianess we all love to hate, and we read along as she reaped what she sewed. My heart broke for Tucker, and I shead more than one tear, but it was ever so more rewarding for this HEA ending. There were a lot of raw emotions in this one, and it was all the better for it. By the end of this book, the FMC became one of my all-time favorites from Julie's world. I highly recommend it.
We’ve all been waiting to learn more about Tucker and understand Annie, maybe to a point where we have bugged the author to insanity. But Julie took all the rants in stride and gave us a beautifully written story of love, loss and correcting mistakes. I absolutely loved it. Thanks for giving us Abby and thanks for writing such a moving story about Tucker, Julie! If you love shifter stories about one true mates and kinda wonder how it all works, this book need to be your next read.
Finally! This has been a much anticipated book in the Westin delta force World. We meet Tucker in earlier books and you can't help but love him. He is honestly a fav. Julie does it again. Somehow having you on the edge of your seat while laughing and crying and excited and sad and just all the emotions whilst reading. Yet the story is new and gives a different look into her world. With appearances from old favs again. Okay tldr read this now! Can be read as standalone by def more impact reading the other books first.
When I started this book, I instantly wanted to close it again 😂 the first six chapters had my blood pressure through the roof, but I kept chanting trust the process! Julie Trettel did not disappoint me; this book is definitely in my top three books from her catalog. I plan to do a reread, but I’ll probably start at chapter 7🤔
I think this may be Julie Trettel’s best book so far. She unflinchingly approached a very difficult subject with grace and compassion, leading us through a minefield of emotions. I was alternately crying, yelling and laughing to the extent that I probably looked certifiable. From the first page to the last I was engrossed in this book. I’m sorry it had to end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was another amazing addition to the Westin Force Delta Series. These books just keep on getting better and it’’s definitely one of my favourites that Julie has written, and that’s saying something as all her books are fantastic. This was definitely my most anticipated book release to date and it was well worth the wait. I was hooked from page one and couldn’t put it down so I ended up staying up until I finished the book at about 2.00am, it was that good. Man, I knew Tucker had been through some sh*t but when the true extent was revealed my heart absolutely broke for him. This book was definitely an emotional roller coaster and just like her pervious books Julie does an amazing job dealing with the hard topics mentioned.
I’m so glad that Tucker finally got the happily ever after he deserves. I usually put more spoilers in my reviews as it’s so hard not too but I don’t want to spoil anything. I loved seeing team Delta and their mates show the true meaning of family during this book. I’ve already pre-order Out of Peril, Walker’s book which I’m looking forward to reading when it’s released in April. At least there’s two other releases All the Shiny Things (Ravenden Series) and His Wild Mate (Six Pack Shifters Series) that I’ve also pre-ordered that are out before the next Delta book so I can get more shifters. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
This is like Wyatt's book in the Six-Pack Series... much different than a normal Julie book. This book broke my heart. Watching what Tucker had to put up with when it came to Annie even though we'd kind of gotten glimpses of it in other books was heartbreaking. Beware that we do see sexual abuse and basically every other kind of abuse of Tucker on the page in this book and it's just as bad as you'd think.
The most heartbreaking part to me was that even though he did get better after Annie was gone, we watch him have a total panic attack due to the trauma only a few chapters from the end of the book. Honestly, I feel like this book should have had trigger warnings at the beginning because it's an incredibly hard read. Even after her death, I had to stop sometimes because he's so traumatized from years of abuse and even though Abby did a lot of good to try to heal him we never saw it fully happen. Every time you thought we were finally over learning about something Annie did to him, something else would pop up and it's sickening.
Manipulative, abusive Annie tricked Tucker into their nightmare mating and it got worse when they moved to San Marco. Finding out Tucker was helping Abby, the pretty, young human who inherited her great-great grandmother Birdie’s estate when she died, Annie left town in a snit, confident Tucker would follow her but he’d had enough and refused to give in to her demand to quit his job move to their original pack and work for her father.
It was late afternoon when Tucker and Abby were sorting through Birdie’s belongings and their eyes clashed. That was all it took for their wolves to declare themselves mates. How was this going to work? Tucker had a mate! Abby, now alone in the world, is human! Meanwhile, mission it is when the team discover a collector nearby but they’re divided when a volunteer suggests a strategy for breaking up the collector’s collections. Rating: 4.25stars
Woah!!! Just woah!!! She has done it again! This is Tuckers story, she did go into it with an open mind. And after reading the first chapter yes you heared it right I wanted to throw my iPhone this is no joke into the wall and shit it and don’t comming back. This is how good Julie is with creating all this emotions in us, her characters isn’t fictional they are our pac they litterly feel so alive to us.
I’ve enjoyed this story digging into Tucker has been emotional rollecoaster but this really is a story with such much emotions and a page turner. You can’t miss out on this one. It may sound horrible in the beginning sense Annie is some piece of work but o promise you it couldn’t have ended any better then it did. The only regret I have is it ended ❤️😂
Wow I’ve never hoped for the death of a character so much as in the story. Tucker gets on with his life not knowing that everything is about to change, his life with Annie has been something he’s tried to keep to himself but is that still possible. Abby doesn’t know that she has a living relative until Liam Weston knocks on her door, this will change her life forever. Amazing story, plot and I adore the characters and relationships built in this story. Lots of angst, and some extremely triggering scenes for some. I love the characters who come together as friends and family, and this is a HEA story regardless of some very distressing scenes. Some hot scenes, and some cute banter. Overall a fabulous read.
Omg I had been so excited and looking forward to Tuckers story for so long ! This book was near and dear to my heart ! I’ve been in Tucker’s place before so I had a complete kinship with his story ! I am so happy he finally got the HEA that he deserved. Physical abuse is so horrible but mental abuse is something so deep. Physical wounds heal but mental takes lots of time and patience sometimes they heal to a certain point but most never heal. I can totally say that from a personal perspective. I’ve taken a little longer to post this review because I just waned the right words to say. Tucker will always have a special place in my heart because I can relate. Thank you so much for this amazing book Julie !
I enjoyed reading this book. I had reservations about this book as I was not a fan of Annie, Tucker’s mate. But this book takes a drastic turn for the better when Abby came into the picture about 12% into the book. Without revealing too many spoilers, situations made it so that Tucker and Abby were able to get to know each other and grow their relationship. No cheating involved. I like the relationship between Abby and Tucker. They are so wonderful for each other and Abby is great for him. I am not a fan of MC‘s who are not strong and confident. Although Tucker has issues from his dealings with Annie and we see the repercussions of it, I still liked him and found him to be a strong guy.
How do I review this book without giving away too much of the story? Wow this author keeps on amazing me with how her mind works. And how she comes up with these stories. I love how deep the issues she incorporates into her books and love the characters. We've seen Tucker alot throughout the series and we got glimpses to how bad his mate was even though the girls always tried to include her. If you have triggers I'ld say beware when diving into this book. But aside from that another great story in this series and in my my top 3 in the Westin series.
As much as I was looking forward to Tucker’s story, I also really disliked Annie and after seeing so many comments on the fb group about their dislike for her in the book, I felt I needed to prepare myself so it took me a few days before I started it… well I needn’t have worried! Another amazing read that I couldn’t put down and read late into the night to finish it in one go! Now to wait till April for the next instalment…
Annie had no inkling what a decent person is. Beautiful story. Have to hand it to Julie. What that man put up with is beyond the call of duty. One thing I could not understand was why would a person put up with her for as long as he did but sad to say there are situations just like this out there. Would have loved him to just haul back one and let her have itinerary time Now I can go and get things done. Wonderful
I looked forward to Tucker finally getting a story, but all I can say is wow. The first part of the story with Annie was hard to read. Guys get abused too, but they rarely admit to it. Seeing that side of things was hard, but realistic for his journey. Thank goodness he gets a HEA with Abby (sorry for the spoiler). But seriously, no one would be cheering for Annie. Great story, definitely worth the read.
Julie has done it AGAIN!!! I have been on the edge of my seat to read this book and it did not disappoint! Seeing Tucker get his HEA was just want I needed for him... I can not wait to see him and his mate continue to live happily in future books! I can definitely say I was not disappointed with Tuckers story!!
Damn this book was So good, the hip for this book was spot on. Every book Julie puts out only gets better. This world she has created is a masterpiece and I would live there in an instant. I've never been good at reviews, and all I can say for this book is well done Julie. I can't wait for Walker's story.
I really enjoyed this book. I've now read all three in this series as well as every other Westin story and Collier Pack story. These people are friends and , if I could I would move in. This author writes books that I can not put down. I would recommend these books to anyone.
This book my friends was what I needed on this time of the year and for what I’m going through in my life . It reminds us of new beginnings and opportunities. Life is just a book away . Merry Christmas to you all
I have always felt bad for Tucker and I never liked Annie from the get go. I even hate her more now. I am so happy that Tucker has found his true mate. I love Abby she is his perfect match in every way. I will miss the parts with Birdi she was a hoot.
I won't give it away because as all of this author's books, it is a must-read. With each new one, it surprises you. This one is a good "karma got ya" book.
Love Tucker’s story I couldn’t put it down but I had to needed sleep. This book sucks you in right at the start and doesn’t let up. In this story we learn more about Annie and their life, also are such things as second chances.
Absolutely amazing and outstanding as always another excellent read loved reading tuckers story at last. You never disappoint. Along with all of julies books this is a must read. Outstanding Author would recommend 100% reading all her books
