A terrific accompaniment to Phillip Terrie's "Contested Terrain" as a popular, people's history of the Adirondacks that works well to highlight what (limited) stories there are of the trailblazing women that defined the region through its inception. Breezy, fun, and insightful.

Being a lifelong resident of the adirondack park area I found some of Weber's stories interesting while some I'd heard before. If your interested in the Lore of the Adirondacks here is a good start.

Not the best writing, and gets off to a slow start, but the stories of the first women to summit the High Peaks are pretty great.
