Worth a look for ten minutes' entertainment, but So You Think You Know Harry Potter isn't going to have many surprises for someone who really knows their HP. It's been a few years since I last read the books and I still remembered a good 90% of the answers. Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed having a flick through, but this is not a book you're going to treasure or come to time and time again. It's no compendium of interesting facts, like The Magical Worlds of Harry Potter: A Treasury of Myths, Legends, and Fascinating Facts*. It's just a list of questions (from the first five books) and, to be honest, you could look up doubtless thousands of free HP quizzes on the internet. I wouldn't really recommend buying the book. Spend your pennies on a chocolate frog instead.
It was cool at first, but it definitely got boring after a while :/ Not very enjoyable, nor memorable. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has read every book at least once.
I checked this book out of the library for work related reasons and I found it a bit of a let down. There were lots of questions from the first four books, but the structure of the quiz book itself was a little sloppy. Names were spelled wrong. Questions were asked on one side of the page such as "What is the name of Dumbledore's pet bird?" then, on the facing page is a quest that starts "Dumbledore's pet bird Fawkes...This is a made up example, but a lot of the book was like that. It didn't seem as if it was edited very well.
Fun trivia book. Covers the first four Harry Potter books. Trivia questions are broken into categories of different difficulty levels. Recently, I gave an extra copy of this book to a friend who was hosting a Harry Potter-themed birthday party. The elementary school-aged guests loved playing the games the adults created around these questions.
I remember buying this in WH Smith many years ago and being able to answer pretty much any question I read or got asked from it. As a kid that made me pretty proud, not sure how many questions I would answer correctly today however I have read the HP books enough times to feel confident in saying I would get a fair few right!
When I saw the Harry Potter quiz book I just had to grab it. At some point I plan to go back and do the questions again but it was fun first time round. I don't retain information that well these days so I did get a few wrong and a few I stared blankly at! Fun for the Harry Potter fan.
Bargain book I'm glad I bought. I love quiz books so much and this one is about Harry Potter so i love it even more. I'm a bit sad the questions is only about the first four books. It has easy, medium, and hard type of questions for each book.
