I think that this book is good because it represents Abraham Lincoln in a good way. This book is telling the story of Abraham Lincoln and all that he has gone through it talks about death and tragedy and all sort of other things that has happened to him I would recommend this book to any one that likes history.
In this book I have learned a lot about Abe Lincoln from his childhood to his assassanation and from the start of the civil war to the end of the civil war. Abe Lincoln was a good man and a strong president and leader. I would recommend this book to people who seek knowledge of back then.
A nice summary of 10 Key days in Lincoln’s life to better understand who he was. A great resource for younger writers or for elementary school teachers to have in their library.
This book is about Abraham Lincoln's most important events told in 10 days. Something I found interesting was that the person who killed him was an actor. I will use this in the classroom by putting each other in lit circles and answering questions and sharing it with the class weekly.

Abraham Lincoln (10 Days) is an adolescent book written in a novel format because of its lengthier prose text. Additionally, it is written in sequential order. The author, David Colbert writes about 10 important days of historical people, such as Martin Luther King and Anne Frank. This story highlights 10 important days of Abraham Lincoln's life and explains how these days shaped the person. I would use this book for older students.
10 Days Abraham Lincoln David Colbert Nonfiction 147 pages Finished: 4/17/13
Summary:
This story is about ten important days that shaped Abraham Lincoln’s life, and even ours today. A few of the most important days are Lincoln’s debates with Douglas, the beginning of the Civil War, and Lincoln’s assassination. Lincoln’s assassination happened by John Wilkes Booth. Lincoln was at a play with his friends and wife. Booth was very fond of this play, and knew a lot about it like, when certain lines were coming and his way around the theater. Because of this, he had an advantage, and knew where Lincoln was watching the play from. When there was no guards at the door to Lincoln’s room, Booth snuck in. A few minutes later he shot Lincoln in the head. Just like that, he was dead.
Review:
I gave this book a two star because it was not good at all. It was super hard to follow, and I had no clue what was going on. The reason I chose this book was because I wanted to know more about Lincoln and his assassination. This was not the book for that. Even though it was an easy read, I would not recommend it to someone else. One thing I do like about it though was the idea of picking ten important days to write about. I think that is a very cool and different thing that most authors don't do.
Abraham Lincoln By David Colbert Biography 154 pages
This book is about Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln lived for 20,517 days. Out of those days, 10 of them were shocking to him and to our world. One of the days was the day when his mom passed away. What he did that day is what made him the person he grew up to be. Another day was when he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from his district in Illinois. Another was when he became presdent. Another day that goes with that was when Lincoln freed the slaves/got rid of slavery.
This book was not my favorite. Like a lot of people, I don't like nonfiction, but there are some that I do like and this book is just not one of the nonfiction books that I like. When i saw that Lincoln lived for 20,517 days, I thought that was a long time, but as I thought about I was like, "He didn't live that long at all". He was only in his 50's when he passed away. If you are someone who likes history then I recommed this book to you, but if you don't, then I wouldn't read it if I wre you. I thought this book was a waste of my time, because there are so many good books out there and I got reading this bad book.
a. non-fiction b. 146 pages c. This book by David Colbert is about 10 important days of Abraham Lincoln's life. When Abraham Lincoln was nine years old and his older sister was 11, their mother died. Lincoln was very close with his mother and it was a very sad day for him. He was not close with his father at all. Although, his father got remarried and he became close with his step-mom, too. On January 12, 1848, Illinois had elected Lincoln to the U.S. House of Representatives. He had some unsuccessful attempts of getting in but he finally did. Most people stay seen but not heard when they are new in the government, but not Lincoln. He launched a political attack on the congress and the president at the time. He voted for banning slavery and had his voice her. On April 14, 1865, actor John Wilkes Booth had shot Lincoln in the Ford theater. d. I liked this book because it gave ten days of Lincoln's life and explained them. It gave wonderful details about those days and I could imagine them very clearly. It also took you threw Abraham Lincoln's journey and summarized all the important things he has done for our country.
“10 Days: Abraham Lincoln” by David Colbert is a great book about Abraham Lincoln. It tells about the ten days that were most important to him. Days like the day he became president, the day he was assassinated, the day he became a senator, and more.
This book takes place in the United States during the 1800's. Most of the book is during the Civil War, but there are a few days that happen before the war. This book is not that long as it only has ten chapters in the entire book.
I would recommend this book to people that like history. Even if you are not into history it is a great book and worth reading for sure. This is not the only book in this series. David Colbert has made other 10 Days books including “10 Days: Thomas Edison” and “10 Days: Ben Franklin.”
I think the book was sappy, very sappy. It's sappy because it is sad how David Colbert tells you how Abraham Lincoln died. It's also happy because David tells you how Abraham frees the negros from slavery and gives his life for them. It's acctually pretty interesting, like I feel like I'm there seeing with my very own eyes...but I still know it happened years ago.I recamend this book to people who love to read biographies that are manly just facts mixed together to make good biographies. If you want to read this book, you just have to look for 10 days Abraham Lincoln by David Colbert, and find out on your own to see what happens to Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln was one of the best presidents we've ever had. Without him, slavery would be stuck with our country forever. All because either people would think slavery would die out on its own, or people supported slavery. I recommend this book if you are a fan of Lincoln. Every book is different, even the one's about the same topic. This biography gives information not found in other books like this, just like those Lincoln books have information not found in this 150 paged book.
This was a great book. In learned a lot of stuff about Abraham Lincoln. I liked how this book told about diffrent days about Abraham Lincoln. It didnt focoes on just one event but ten events from his life.David Colbert did good job of telling this true story. The main event was the civil war in the story. I reccomened this book to any one who really likes history. This book was really great.
I read A LOT of things about Lincoln so I will say that most of this was not new information to me. That said, it was well presented and I liked the format. I appreciated the "10 days" as it focuses on those moments that make a person - like Lincoln - who he was.
