I've been waiting patiently for this to release as soon as I first learned about this multi-author series! This one is a Hansel & Greta fairytale retelling, and it packs quite a punch! I'm so sad to say I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. :(
This is a new fairytale to me, because I don't think I've ever read any Hansel & Gretel books! While I love dark romances, it literally disappointed me so much to see there was a sex club there at the H's house in the woods. And that the H is a voyeur to the extreme, he pays to have people have sex right in front of him. That k*lled every little part of me that kept saying "it'll get easier soon!" because, no, it did not get easier.
I understand the angle Sadie King was going for. Pretty disappointed that I didn't enjoy it.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Lorenzo and Greta met when she stumbles into his home. Greta went on a camping trip with Chad, a guy she met at the lodge she works at. When Chad and his friends kept drinking and started forcing themselves onto Greta she ran. Greta runs throw the woods, she tries to call her brother Hans A Runaway Bride For Christmas but he doesn't answer. Greta stumbles and falls but gets back up and keeps running. Greta hides but she hears Chad and his friends getting closer. Finally when she no longer hears them yelling for her she tries to huddle up, but then it starts to rain. Greta has no choice but to keep moving before she freezes to death. Greta sees a light and wonders towards it only to stumble upon a home in the woods. Greta goes to knock on the door but then just opens it and walks inside. Greta wonders down the halls to find she can hear people moaning, she wants to know where the moaning is coming from. Greta finds a door and when she opens it she finds two men and a woman pleasuring each other. Greta stand in shock watching, when she turns she sees a man sitting in the corner watching her instead on the people on display. Greta and Lorenzo stare at one another for a long moment. Then Greta tells herself she needs to get out of here, this isn't the place for her. Lorenzo sees Greta leave, he stand and tells her to wait, but she starts running down the hall towards the door she entered. When Lorenzo catches up to Greta he tells her to wait, he tells her to come inside and dry off he can get her a meal and he'll help her get home. Greta finds out this is a sex club by invite only, but Lorenzo will have everything shut down. Lorenzo offers Greta a room to shower and get dry. When Greta is in a room, Lorenzo watches her on his monitors, he hasn't been this turned on in ten years. After Lorenzo leaves Greta wakes to the dresses and discovers these are expense, they cost more money then she makes in a month. Greta wants to know more about Lorenzo so she gets ready for their dinner together. As they are eating Lorenzo tells Greta she can asks him anything she wants to know, so she begins with all of her questions. Greta wants to know when she can leave and Lorenzo tells her anytime she wants to. Lorenzo wants to know about Greta but she's not ready to tell him why she was in the woods. Lorenzo tells Greta he's been watching her and she's woken something inside of him that's been buried for a long time. Greta then tells Lorenzo about Chad and his friends chasing her in the woods, and the camping trip. Lorenzo tells Greta it's time for bed, but when they get to her room he tells her she needs to decide if she'll stay with him in the cage or go back home to her brother, Hans. Greta walks to the bed, and climbs into the cage. Lorenzo tells Greta they're going to explore all of her fantasists, but gives her a safe word if things get to be to much. Greta asks Lorenzo what he wants her to do, then he tells her and she explores her body. When Greta steps inside, but she hesitates, Lorenzo tells her he's not going to lock her up. Then Lorenzo goes first, then switches on a light, Greta hears muffled voices moaning. Then Greta sees Chad and his friends, but she hardly recognizes them. They are beaten up with bruises and blood. Greta asks Lorenzo if they're dead, and he tells her not yet. Lorenzo tells Greta he wanted her to see them first, he wanted them to know their actions led to their deaths. Greta leaves and tells Lorenzo he can't kill them. Greta friends out that Lorenzo is part of the mafia family, and he does work for them. Greta tells Lorenzo to let Chad and his friends go, he tells her she has a soft heart. Lorenzo tells Greta that if anyone hurts her again he will hunt them down. When they get back into the house and into Greta's room she tells him to tell her about his family. Greta asks Lorenzo if he can stop and he tells her for her he will try. Then Greta asks him if his sex club will he still watch, Lorenzo tells her no, when she walked into his home he shut the doors and the rooms have been dismantled. Deliciously written erotic romance with a happily ever after ending, outstanding character which is easy to read as well as a page turner are within this story.
A story about a waitress who goes on a camping trip with the wrong guy only to find her dark prince whose family was the mafia.
The waitress worked at the Lodge, her brother also worked there as well and they lived there also. The waitress met a guy and his friends there. They talked more and he wanted to show her what we would do to protect her, he took her to the vault and showed her the guys that tried to attack her but she couldn’t handle it especially after he said that they were to die for what they did to her. They talk once they were out of the vault, she wanted to run but something in her couldn’t. The dark prince told her about his mafia family and they went back to the room and he had her sit as they talked more. When she wanted to know why he wouldn’t touch her or let her touch him he wouldn’t tell her so she started changing back into the clothes she wore when she got there even though she couldn’t find the jeans that she wore. She was about to leave when she started to talk of his suit coat, then his shirt, he started to tell her the beating his father would give him and about a woman who ran when she saw him, he thought of himself as a monster that wasn’t allowed to have anyone touch him until they met.

This story is a retelling of the Hansel and Gretel fairytale but with a whole different kind of candy house temptation. I really enjoyed this slightly twisted, dark and very smoking hot sexy story. The story finds Greta on the being pursued through the forest and coming upon a house that is not really a house in the middle of the forest. Cold, wet, hungry and tired Greta decides to enter and finds something she never expected, but something that she still finds tempting and which ignites desires she never thought possible. Lorenzo Berone is the middle son of a mafia family that his older brother runs. He is bored and seems to like to annoy his brother. So he built a very private and secret sex club, by invite only for the rich who visit the local resort. Nothing has tempted him for several years now...that is until he spots a door opening and a sweet young woman looking in. Will he cage her and eat her alive? Will the temptations for both of them prove to be something they cannot resist, no matter how bare they will need to put themselves?
I thought the way the author used the details of the original fairytale and integrated them into this story was well done. It is not until later that you start to realize just how many moments are in this story. I was not really into the whole "Mafia" family addition but it did not detract from the story and the characters.

This was a fabulously dark twist on the fairy tale Hansel & Grettal. Greta was a naive, trusting, young woman who was tired of her overbearing older brother. This is something so many can relate to. Doing something risky, just to defy or get out from under the scrutiny of "their" gaze seems almost logical. Well, that logical step got Greta a whole lot more than she ever bargained for!!

This was a great short read. I love Sadie’s Wild Heart MC series. This is in the same mountain area but we are not with the MC this time. I love this spin off from the Wild Heart series. Lorenzo loves to watch from the sidelines he never allows himself touch. When innocent Greta finds herself being chased in the woods she stumbles upon Lorenzo. She is cold, wet, tired and hungry and he promises to care to her needs. She never realized she ran from one wolf to another one. Lorenzo has secrets he is hiding. Is Greta enough for him? Lorenzo is seductive, mysterious, dangerous, controlling and protective. Greta is innocent, sweet, and trusting.

This was a short and fun read. Innocent Gretel is protected by her big brother Hans and when she gets the opportunity for some freedom she takes it, she doesn't expect things to go bad, she doesn't expect Lorenzo and she doesn't expect to wake up in a cage.

Sadie does a wonderful job of telling this story! It drew me in right away. Gretel is a 21 year old woman that is naive mostly because of her overprotective brother. After some hoopla, she winds up lost in the woods where she encounters a house. This is Lorenzo’s house of fantasies so to speak. Once he catches sight of Gretel, he decides that she belongs to him. Lorenzo has some trauma and secrets that, at first, he is unwilling to share with Gretel.
I loved this book and was impressed with Sadie King’s development of the characters. I am new to dark romance but if there are others like Sadie’s sign me up!.

This is book is part of the multi-author Dark and Twisted Tales series featuring a deliciously dark mafia age-gap twist on the classic Hansel and Gretel fairy-tale. Lorenzo and Greta's journey is riveting with all the temptation and wicked things lurking in the woods. We get an OTT obsessed MMC who will do whatever it takes to protect his innocent curvy woman. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this book and experience their journey for yourself to see the amazing job that this author did in the retelling of a classic fairy-tale it's fantastic.

This is the story of Greta and Lorenzo, one day she is on the run and has been running in the forest for quite some time. When she comes across a house and goes inside, she doesn't yet realize that things are wrong. Once inside, she collapses and Lorenzo helps her. She has no idea what kind of person he is except that she has been moved from a bed to a cage and he has no intention of letting her go. A wonderful story that keeps you glued and the characters were great. This is a dark story, if you don't like it then this is not a book for you, and if you like it then I definitely recommend this book.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This story has an innocent/jaded and dark/light theme. Greta and Lorenzo also have an instant attraction between them. She finds herself feeling caged by her brother Hans. Her decisions find her in a bad situation only to stumble upon Lorenzo and his private club. These two look for a way to make their own shadows and gray area when they combine their light and darkness. It took a bit to warm up to Lorenzo but I ended up liking both characters. The storyline was interesting and unique even if it has a little fairytale reference

She falls asleep on a comfortable bed and wakes up in a cage. Lorenzo has caught his little rabbit and he wants to keep her. This is another dark tale, well written with great characters. I wasn’t sure I would like these dark twisted fairy tales but I love them and this one is great. Wonderful steamy hot read.

I had second thoughts about reading this book and wondered if the author had taken another path. The book has a touch of mafia and a bit of a kink but focuses on the growing relationship between the MCs. He was immediately smitten with her, which changed the trajectory of his life. Her, I am not sure. There are some instances where it looks like she left her brain at the lodge, but this was the way to their hea.
I loved the part nearing the end, but I loved the ending more.

Lorenzo has a club that tends to the rich and depraved. But he only watches, never partakes in the scenes. He sees Greta and is instantly obsessed,but thinks he won't be good or enough for her. This was a great fairytale retelling with a very steamy twist. I have to admit that I will never quite see the Hansel and Gretel story in the same way after reading this. But I loved it, it was so steamy and had a great pace. Greta and Lorenzo had a unique meet cute and amazing chemistry. I so enjoyed reading this.

This a great retelling of Hansel and Gretel. My girl Greta doesn't have an easy life and soon gets her life turned around by Lorenzo. He's broken but with her he feels whole.
Their story is sexy and very entertaining. It's more on the darker side. So, if you don't like dark romance, I would suggest to start with something else by Sadie King.

I really, really liked this story. I was surprised because I didn't expect to based off how it started but as it progressed, I really came to like Lorenzo and how he was with Greta. Temptation was completely appropriate for the name of this story as that is what he offered to her. It was never forced but as she because comfortable, she was able to discover herself. Enjoyable read.

This book held my interest for a while, but it was pretty over the top.
One part of the book, Greta gets nauseous and throws up all over her shoes and wipes her mouth with her sweater because of what she witnessed.
Next scene, they go into the house and a kiss is involved. He says she tastes like sweet cherries and candy.
Seriously, she just threw up!
I really couldn’t get into this retelling of Hansel and Gretal.
Not my cup of tea.

Greta felt caged by her brother but a chance date of camping doesn't go as planned when she ends up in lorenzo, but not all is as it seems, will Lorenzo break his own rule of no touching? Well written a twist on hansel and gretal romance.

I thought that this was a good book. Greta and Lorenzo were great together with their chemistry but I thought they were lacking in a true connection besides primal need. I did enjoy this book but it was not one of my favorites from Sadie.

A dark mafia tale along the lines of retelling Hansel and Gretel, with a bit Of Little Red Riding Hood. In this version Greta runs towards Lorenzo seeking shelter, only to find later she has discovered the Big Bad Wolf. Enjoyed this new dynamic, of Greta bringing the light to Lorenzo.
