"Splash!" says Joshua, "Splash!" Joshua and his granny romp through a wonderful day out enjoying lots of watery delights in this charming picture book with boldly colored illustrations by Ken Wilson-Max. Joshua loves to shout "Splash!" as he stomps through puddles on a walk, rides the gigantic slide at the swimming pool, and listens to the rain pouring down on the bus ride home. Through it all, Granny is by his side, happily joining in the fun.

I'm not sure why this book has low ratings. It's well-crafted, with nice use of repetition and onomatopoeic words. It's written so a toddler can predict what's going to happen next and help read along. I like the relationship between the grandmother and her grandson. And my toddler just loved this book--so that's a 5 stars for me.
Joshua and his granny go to the pool. They go down the slides and splash in various ways. The text has an interesting but maybe tricky cadence to it. It could maybe be made interactive with the splashing? Hm, I'm kind of undecided on this one.
