A good book written in 1950 about the daily life of a parish priest. The author is a humble priest, and he changes the name of his parish and the people in the book and gives an hour by hour description of what he does in his prayer and work and what he thinks about as he lives out the day. Very interesting also because it’s written before the Second Vatican Council, and so the author describes the life of a priest living two generations before me.
To all my brother priests who struggle to make the most of their day, I strongly recommend this title. This short, easy to read, first person reflection of on a single day, though clearly situated in 1950's American Catholicism, has clear applicability to the contemporary day-to-day life of any parish priest.
Very humble account of a priest’s routine and daily thoughts. I found it very comforting to see the struggles, distractions, and doubts a priest may have, truly like any layman. It is truly beautiful the honest way Fr Leo talks to God, which serves as encouragement in our own relationships with the Lord.
