I didn't want to review this series before but I decided to because it would be crazy if I read 24 books of a series and didn't give it a review at all plus I actually enjoyed it a lot but the writing is very simple and easy to understand and all so there isn't much to unpack in the writing and all.
I have to say that one of my favourite things about this series is how it embraced all the generic themes of the fantasy medium and created a very brilliant story and unique setting. This story embraced all the generic concepts of the fantasy medium that most people would probably consider overused and ubiquitous ranging from the medieval European setting to the whole concept of elves, demons, ogres, dwarves, swashbuckling swordsmen, spell casters heck even dragons and goblins and several other unique creatures too, most of these themes for avid fantasy readers are probably considered overdone already, especially the medieval European setting and the magical system ( They are very good themes when done right but when overdone it starts to get a little predictable) but with this story, I was able to enjoy and embrace some of these themes again, especially with the way they alleged to Japanese pop culture and despite not being the biggest fans of Litrpgs myself I noticed the Litrpgs references all over the story especially with the power ranks when it comes to magic and swordsmanship, it was all perfectly executed in a way that made it fun to read. One of the reasons why I was hooked to the first 7volumes(Books) was because of the simplicity of the writing at times the writing felt too simple like an insult to my intelligence but it was fun regardless because I didn't have to constantly recheck each word to understand contextual use or google words I didn't understand most of the writing was done in a simple manner so it felt very easy to read. The first 7 volumes in my opinion are the peak of the story because it was very thrilling and the adventures were very enjoyable oh and did I mention the world-building? The world-building is fucking god-tier and the descriptions are so easily done that I can imagine how a lot of the key locations in the series look like without even trying hard from the forests of the demon continent to the cities to the ports great Millis, the Fittoa region, other parts of the central continent and all. The 8th to the 11th volumes felt very boring to me because they felt kinda slow and I dropped it numerous times the slice of life part of the story felt kinda forced and as much as I enjoy adults being adults in stories and all most of the slice of life parts felt weird and it seemed like the author was treading in unknown terrain there, like slice of life wasn't their forte at all so most of the slice of life chapters felt awkward the author also had some weird fetishes and fantasies that he projected through the characters that made me feel weird too like the Roxy loli reference and Aisha being sexually attracted to her brother, most of these things felt kinda weird to read and I understand that they were mostly figurative it didn't irk me any less, but I understand that it's an adult story and the writer still has creative right to do whatever he wants with it and it probably feels like I am bitching, or making ado over nothing but it had to be pointed out. The latter volumes (11-24 ) were also very good and this was where most of the main character development occurred because the protagonist grew in these volumes from being a horny teenager with extraordinary abilities to someone who wanted to protect something at all costs the loss of a loved one made him mature too I normally despise the whole trope of killing a character to force another character's development but with this one, it was properly executed that even when the protagonist was in agony over the death of a loved one it was projected unto me (the reader) too, the death of the important character and becoming a family man made the protagonist go from a selfish person who just wanted to see the next day and live comfortably to someone who wanted to protect the people he loved by any cost even going as far as siding with a former enemy to protect his family and being ready to die for them, it was beautiful to see and watching the protagonist change the world while only wanting to protect his family was very nice too and seeing how he changed from his humble, timid state to engaging in suicidal risks to protect the people he loved genuinely made me proud of the development. Most of the other characters are pretty simple because the author perfectly enunciates their characterizations. One of the subtleties I noticed though was the parallels between the protagonist and the main antagonist, at first when the protagonist was someone who just wanted to survive and was pretty selfish he was a minion of the antagonist who was exactly that kind of character too because the antagonist is an utterly selfish character who will manipulate anyone to save himself he also lacked any proper beliefs and ideals too apart from saving himself, The protagonist, on the other hand, grew from being that kind of character to someone who valued others and loved his family so eventually when the protagonist went from being someone who learned to prioritise others it only felt right that he falls out with someone who is a stark contrast of such ideals to ally with someone who shares more similar beliefs.
Overall, the story is a very nice read and pretty enjoyable to read but there's really nothing groundbreaking and it's not your typical good vs bad story either it just embraces all the associated stereotypes of those kinds of stories and embraces them to form something new. The highs were very good but the lows were very disappointing too so it may be generally inconsistent but overall it's a (7.5-8), and as good as it is, it's definitely not something I see myself going back to at least not in text medium, the plot and settings are great and all but its impact after the first read is strong enough . PS: Take note that the author is Japanese and it's supposed to be an animanga series so basically relative to the culture of Japan this story is actually considered groundbreaking.
Oh my, we spread out as if there were no worries in the world. Very brave of this party. But we managed to cover a lot of ground and I feel we have advanced the story quite a lot. There’s so many things happening now. And I’m really close to the end… of this first arc.
Great light novel with a fitting end. No literary marvel, but well written, great pacing and world-building, a well thought through power system and memorable characters. Loved it from start to finish and can't wait for the rest of the anime.
Things are clearly coming to an end with volume 24 doing the final setup before the big confrontation. Volume 24 is a fairly straightforward chapter to the series, focussing mostly on finding and aiding Ruijerd. It was a good read, although with a cliff hanger ending and an oddly gullible Rudeus. For somebody constantly doubting people, he is quick to trust even when noting things are going a lot easier than expected. Still, it was a fun read and with the next volume immediately available, that cliff hanger is not that much of an issue...
BANGER volume, finally! North God and Sword God ambushing Rudy and Abyssal King Vita were all immensely interesting. The dream loop Rudy was stuck in had me thrown off so much. Great fights, really puts back in perspective how actually nigh useless Rudy is at this point. Eris is INFINITELY more useful than him and I'm all for it, she's the greatest. There is way too much left to cover in two volumes so I'm pretty afraid of the conclusion :<

We are so close to the end! I liked this volume; at the beginning I was wondering how everything was going to set up for the final battle, and as the book progressed I was waiting for the evil guys to appear. The ending was super good; I expected something was going on since everything was going too smoothly, but I enjoyed the cliffhanger. I can't wait to finish the story!
Fue un bello reencuentro con viejos amigos, tensiones momentáneas, pero con una resolución fuerte y el desarrollo final, abriendo paso al final de la historia.
A scene so beautiful that I cried, seeing all that you will love, a glimpse into all that could be if you never give up. I loved the end to this story.
