This devotional collection contains many relatable and uplifting stories to encourage anyone who is seeking a lifeline during desperate seasons. The testimonies of transformation shared by these authors are a vivid reminder that you are not alone in your hardships: God sees you and puts these hope-filled stories in your hands to reveal the transforming work He can do with our brokenness.

“Jesus never promised a life without difficulties, but He does promise to guide us along the way, showering us with His presence, love and peace.” With those words, Mary Rooney Armand summarizes this compilation, Life Changing Stories. These thirty-four devotionals, written by different Christian women, show the variety of troubles and afflictions in life. Their genuine stories of heartache and pain also show the varied grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. Jesus answers prayer. Jesus turns bad situations into blessings. Jesus helps His people. And Jesus’ people learn valuable lifelong lessons of trust, patience, humility, courage, hope, and love. God’s Word is our main teacher of God’s grace and love. The troubles and trials of life is a secondary teacher of the same. Many weary and worn readers will find comfort and hope in this collection of devotionals.

Life Changing Stories delivers what it promises. These writers have suffered. Some of them have suffered very difficult times in life. In that way, it’s a compilation of devotionals about God’s providence. He sends sunshine and rain, plentiful harvests and famines, joys and sorrows. He is sovereign and good. As one preacher put it, “providence is a doctrine best read backwards.” It is nearly impossible to understand why things are happening to us while they are happening. It is only later that we get any sense of why God sent us a trial. But with His promises in the Bible, we can learn from those difficult circumstances. I have theological differences with several of these authors, but I recognize what theological background they are coming from. I also don’t think this compilation of devotionals would resonate with most men; it’s really a collection for Christian women. I do believe that women reading through these would find hope and joy in the midst of sorrow. As the Bible says, “He who calls you is faithful; He will surely do it.”

I picked this up on Kindle Unlimited after reading the description, and I’m really glad I did. *ButterflyLiving: Life Changing Stories* feels like sitting down with a group of honest, faith-filled friends who are willing to share their real encounters with Christ, not polished sermons, but lived experiences.
What stood out to me most was the variety of voices. With thirty-four different authors, each devotional brings a unique perspective, yet they all circle back to the same powerful truth rooted in Romans 6:4: transformation is possible through Christ. The “butterfly” theme of new life isn’t just symbolic here, it’s felt in the stories of healing, surrender, hope, and renewed faith.

This book came out in the Summer of 2023. I was able to get ‘wind’ of it soon upon being published - the compilation of these ladies stories and how God intervened, walked beside and the encouragement received that changed the course of what could have become even more detrimental to these lives is amazing and more importantly a help to anyone, truths that enable one to see past an unpleasant, heartbreaking and unexpected present. It’s easy to read and I give this compilation two thumbs up. It’s available in Amazon!

This book is a collection of 34 inspiring stories that helped women grow closer in their faith. It is raw, honest, and filled with grace.
Each one of these stories provided insight to a difficult experience or experiences that tested their faith and ultimately led them to share their story of how God changed their life.
I love a book that uplifts and aids in growth and this one certainly does that!

Life Changing Stories is a beautiful book, not only in essence but in spirit. The devotions tell a variety of stories but go deeper to help readers “discover the extraordinary power of a life changed by Christ.” I love that the authors dwell more on what they learned through the transforming power of Jesus than on their temporary circumstances.

Wow. These devotionals are so encouraging and inspiring. It is so neat to read all of these stories and hear how God worked to transform these ladies' lives. This is a book I could read again and again. It's beautifully done, well put together, and easy to read. Highly recommend this book!!!
