For sure a must read series! Wuhan was such an enigma in the first book and reading his story was so good. The Persch family doesn’t do anything subtle and I’m so here for it! This was such a wild ride and the development of Wu was amazing! Can’t wait to read the Persch Family Legacy!

I read this authors first book Eve and was captivated by it but the second book Wuhan was addictive. The characters were astounding, well developed and the plot was amazing. I found myself absorbed by it and couldn’t put it down. It was so compelling that I didn’t want it to end. I read the 615 pages in three days and wished there were still 100 pages to go. GREAT READ. Can’t wait for the next book

5/5 Stars

I want to start off and say that I enjoyed this book immensely! I loved Eve. and I thought that book was good, but this book? Mwah chef's kiss. Wuhan, Eve, David, and now Jun were all enjoyable and I loved seeing their relationships and dynamics grow.

Let me start off with Wuhan since it is his book. I liked him in the first book, and when he started to be kinder to David that was when I fell in love with him. This book? I just want to hold him and tell him that he has people in his corner during life. Him and Jun were downright adorable and I loved how Jun respected his boundaries, but was able to open him up. Jun is great for Wu, and he allows him to be himself. Jun was ready to jump into the Persch life and I love that actually. Where David wanted out and have no part with the family, Jun was ready to risk it all for love. And when Wu went through his experience of trying to kill himself, Jun made it known that he wants the relationship to change and to have better communication. Jun would take no shit from Wu and I absolutely respect that. This is really where Wu changed for the better and he was seeing things in a different light. And Jun being a little devious as well and enjoying Wu go ham on some people was a good development. David realizing that they are perfect for each other was funny, since he really is the only one who seems the most sane.

David and Eve. What a power couple. See, it's interesting because I didn't really like their relationship in the first book. David did love Eve after some time, but he still understood that this was not normal. This book? Completely made me laugh with how they interact with each other. You can see they do both love each other dearly and I thought the jokes they made towards each other was great. You can see how much their relationship has grown from the first book and I do appreciate it. And seeing more of Eve's actual Persch family attitude come out when David was taken? No gonna lie, I loved seeing that since we don't see that often. I was worried their dynamic would be like the first book, so I am very glad they were an actual couple. And the wedding? I'll cry.

David and Wuhan were so good in this book! I will always love how they both do care for each other, and while they both make mistakes, they are brothers. How they interacted with each other was funny and I loved when David would make jokes with Jun at Wu's expense. Plus, you can see how much Wu genuinely cares about David now and he will harm anyone who hurts him, just like when they harm his family and Jun. When David and Jun were kidnapped, oh man I was so ready for Wu and Eve to just go ballistic. The violence was graphic, but alas that is what happens when you mess with the Persch siblings loved ones. And seeing Raf was cool! I would love to see more of him, but I know we probably won't in the next book since that is a prequel. If he is in the last book, I will simply combust.

So, overall, I loved this book. It made me stressed like no other book has before, but I ate this book up! I cannot wait to read the other books in the series since I know we have two more coming. And I probably forgot to talk about things, but there is only so much I can type before I just recite everything I like :)

This book is the epitome of “don’t judge a series by its first book”. The first book, Eve, was a great concept but had a lot of problems for me. One being the grammatical errors on nearly every other page. It read like a rough draft. THIS book, however, blew the first out of the water! I really liked Wuhan in the first book & had high hopes for this one, given it’s his story. I was pleasantly proven right.

This book is hefty &, at surface level, it feels like it didn’t need to be over 600 pages. But now that I’ve read it, I couldn’t believe it was over 600 pages - I flew through it & couldn’t get enough. I loved the characters so much so that I was seeing it in my head like a movie - which, by the way, this would make the best new Netflix series. For real. I’d eat that up.

Jun is the absolute best character & addition to this universe. He & Wu are so well written & arced. Their dynamic gave a whole new meaning to the grumpy/sunshine trope.

This one still had grammatical errors here & there - there’s some random capitalization mid sentence, erroneously placed commas, & the font changed for an entire sentence randomly towards the end..? Anyway - it’s a great deal better than the first one. The content in this one makes up for it, though. (And the critical eye is just me, the way my brain works. Not everyone notices this or cares, I’m sure, but I do & it always interrupts me visually).

So again - never judge a series by its first book. I always give a series, at minimum, two books before I decide if I’ll keep going or not. This one proved this theory accurate for sure.

How do I put into words how obsessed I am with this fictional man?!?!

Cassie Alford has become one of my favorite authors. Wuhan is one of the most beautifully complex and contradictory characters I've ever had the pleasure of letting into my brain. He hates people but longs for a companion. He is violent, disconnected, and cruel, while simultaneously being protective and caring of a very select few. I adore the LGBTQIA representation here, and I especially love how this author helps to shed light on the A of that acronym. Wuhan is asexual and that is a big reason why he's never been able to find a companion - they've always wanted more than he is willing to give.

That is until the wonderful, sassy, fierce, confident, totally amazing Hyun-Jun forces himself into the picture. He is everything Wu didn't know he needed and so much more. Jun works his way past Wu's iron walls, pushing Wu out of his comfort zone but never too far. He is the opposite of Wu in every way, and I am as captivated by Jun as Wu had better be!

I really enjoyed the first book of this series Eve, but this author got even better with her sophomore novel. The story was gripping from beginning to end. There is a wonderful amount of drama and angst, and at moments I couldn't even lay down and relax because I was too busy having anxiety over the situation the characters found themselves in (no spoilers!).

Absolutely job well done on this book. This author is one that I will immediately pre-order, I don't even need to know the plot. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Okay okay … so this was far better than the first book imo. Wuhan’s character depth and his struggles were so relatable and heartbreaking that I was crying for him multiple times. Jun is amazing. And the ace rep?? Thank you yes. So why is it only 4.5 stars? Because I still feel as though Cassie needs a good editor. It broke the immersion for me at times. This was far better than Eve as far as grammar and printing issues go as well as story continuity errors, but they still existed.

Otherwise, wow. Wuhan forever. Wu and Jun for freaking ever please. Can I get four more books about them?

I thought book 1 was great, book 2 blew me away. Not only was there growth in the writing style and dialog, there was incredible growth in the characters. Wu is the guy you love to hate, until you love him. The thrills this book gave me…. Amazing.

Which sibling have the parents messed up more that’s for you to find out!

Let me just say in Eve (book 1) was not a huge fan of Wuhan for reasons. In this book and reading his perspective I’m a Wu fan!

I think wuhan is my favorite so far. His story was definitely intriguing. Love the big strong silent type but he has his share of problems. Loved seeing him express himself to his man. So cute.
