I once more came here after finishing the drama When I Fly Towards You as it was one of the best portrayals of coming-of-age, love both romantically and within friendship, and finding your own self peace. This book did not disappoint me either! Similar to the book Hidden Love was based on, this book is slightly less ‘rose-colored glasses’ than the drama itself, but when you already know and love the characters, it’s easy to love them when you read about them. I love especially the portrayal of Zhang Lurang in this book, as I felt it actually added quite a lot of depth into his character and showed a lot more of his perspective than the drama did. Overall, I love the stories Zhu Yi tells and this one was so very beautiful!

They are so in love <3 If you've watched the c-drama you'll know already how cute Zhang Lurang and Su Zaizai are together. However, don't expect to find the secondary couple in the book because it doesn't appear ㅠㅠ, only Jiajia as Zaizai's bestie. That means the story of ZLR and SZZ is really developed, so you'll get to understand better ZLR's inner thoughts as a bonus.

If you haven't watched the c-drama though, rest assured, this is a really sweet romance novel which I highly recommend reading. Black cat boy x golden retriever girl. Fluffy with a tiny bit of angst ^^
