Love is Useless. Lacey Donahue They say judgment comes in many forms, and I experienced it on a stage most of my life. I was judged on my looks and my ability to perform. Then I finally saw my way out, and I took it. I didn’t care what the cost was. I had hoped leaving pageantry behind would give me the freedom I had always longed for. For the first time, I would have the chance to make my own decisions. Then my parents arranged a marriage between me and a stern cowboy to settle their debt that no amount of money could pay. But looks can be deceiving, and freedom must be won, so I would fight until it was mine, no matter the cost. Colby West I pride myself on my pragmatism and foresight. My goal always has been and always will be to continue my family’s legacy. I chose to launch West Ranch into its next era. Everything was working just as I planned. Then I missed a payment. I had a plan, but then the terms changed. In my haste to figure out how to pay it as quickly as possible, I was presented with an option that would give me the time I needed to catch up —marriage. I had never given it, or love, any thought. I found it useless. Regardless, I would not be marrying for love. I would be marrying to fix the problem. What I didn’t see coming was a formidable woman full of resilience that would not only shake my carefully laid plans. But change them and show me a better way, because the cost was higher than I or my family could pay.

What a wonderful conclusion for a wonderful series. I loved this. All the loose ends tied up in a beautiful bow!
I loved Colby and Lacey’s story. Two people you could never see being together being the best thing that could happen to either one of them. I love a good opposites attract story.
The feeling of pure family love in these books makes my heart warm. They are all so ride or die for eachother and it’s amazing to see.
I’m always ready for more books by Jessica, and I’ll be sitting here patiently waiting for more cowboys.. please 👀🤣
The fourth and final book in the WILD series...Jessica Myel has taken us on another WILD ride in this book and concludes the series in yet another WILD adventure of one of the West siblings.
Lacey and Colby are not only an unlikely match, but one of them does just about everything possible to make sure they don't end up together. She thinks she is cunning and sly, but little does she know, it only drives him crazy in the best way. He falls deeper and deeper for her with her every attempt to push her away. He is loyal and loving. She is destructive and deliberate. But together- they are unending and unstoppable. The way they grow together is beautiful and quickly the "enemies to lovers" become absolute soulmates.
I cannot pick a favorite book out of this series. Jessica Myel is truly incredible and has such a way with not only the words themselves, but the emotion and depth of characters. She writes people that are real. She writes people that you get mad at and frustrated with but cannot help but absolutely fall head over heels in love with. These cowboys...woooofff....they are setting the bar wayyyy too high for the real life men out there. Can't wait to find me one of these cowboys...
This is the fourth book in this incredible series, and this is Colby and Lacey’s story. Lacey is feisty and resilient, and just wants her freedom, while Colby is a stern cowboy. When Colby miss a payment for a debt, Lacey’s parents give him an option, and that is to marry her. This is a well written story which is an enemies / lovers, with family, emotions, challenges, arranged marriage, and love, which leads to an entertaining small-town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I have loved this series and the passion, emotion, and depth of character really drove it for me. Well written with believable characters and genuine feeling.
♡ Tropes: • Enemies-to-lovers • Opposites attract • First love • Arranged marriage • Cowboy romance • Small town • Family dynasty at stakes • Book 4 in the Wild series (must be read in order) • Spicy • Dual POV (1st person)
♡ This is the final book in the Wild series. And honestly, I don't know what to do with myself. I've read all the books, fallen in love with every character, been angry and sad. Everything. I've wanted to read Colby and Lacey's story since book 1, but then the end of book 2 definitely made me CRAVE their story! All the tropes are there. And I absolutely loved getting to see the heart of their relationship. Throughout the series we get glimpses of them from time to time, but to have a whole book telling how they met, how they hated each other, but started to fall in love. Seriously, all these books are so amazing. You get to see and feel what the characters are going through as if you were there. I really like that, I felt so close to the characters. Every single one of them. I'm so happy to know how it all ended, to see that even after a *really* big problem, their family was so strong and loving and caring for each other.
♡I'm definitely going to read this series again. From book 1 to 4, without having to wait between each publication. Because it was KILLING ME!!! I want to experience it from start to finish at once.
⚠ Be sure to check the TW before reading this book. The topics discussed are not for everyone. Respect your boundaries if you think this book might trigger you. ⚠
♡ I would also like to thank Jessica for sending me an ARC of her book!!!! ♡
Hi Y’all! Come in and grab some biscuits and gravy while I tell you about this book I just read.
The title is Wild Fire by Jessica Myel. it is book 4 in Wild series. You do need to read in order.
The cover is very pretty and goes well with the title. Then I read the blurb and it really got my interest because arranged Marriage in this time? Toss in enemies to lovers and opposites attract in a Small Town setting oh and I forgot to mention cowboys… got me!
There is a little trigger warning. There’s off page mention of rape, violent death, and a eating disorder. So if these things bother you skip this or read with caution.
The story is a spicy small town romance romance.
Who’s my favorite main character ? Lacy. She’s one tough cookie. I had to learn to like Colby after the mess he made.
There are significant plot twists and turns? If so, what were they? Yes there are a couple twists and a very angsty outcome
I liked the ending. It was HEA though under a sad cloud. The main couples and story does have a happy ending.
I did still have a few questions though notching that ruined the story for me.
If you like Enemies-to-lovers, Opposites attract, First love, Arranged marriage( don’t frown!, Cowboys, Small town romance, Spice, Dual POV you will love this.
Ok, first of all, THIS BOOK IS SO PRETTY! Like what? I don't think I've ever seen something so pretty! The inside is amazing! Beautiful!
Now, to the story! I was so excited to finally understand what the freak was going on and only Colby and Lacey had the answers! I love their story. I love how they slowly saw each other as more than what they thought the other one was at first. They are both trying their best, even when life gets rough. They aren't perfect and that made me love them even more.
What can I say? My heart hurts that it's time to say goodbye to the West family but I am so grateful that I've been a small part of this adventure! It's hard To find the words to say goodbye. Thank you so much Jessica for the opportunity to be on your arc team, for being such a sweet soul and engaging so much with your readers. You create stories that matters, I hope you know that and you never stop writing! I love the universes you create and for the time of a book, you make these universe so real! I can't wait for your next adventure and I can't wait to see where your imagination takes us next!
My favorite couple of the Wild Series! Colby and Lacey was the couple that you wouldn’t thing match but boy are they peanut butter and jelly. They are so explosive and that tension jeez I loved every minute of it. I was skeptical of Colby all the stuff he was putting the family ranch through and what chaos it was bringing but I couldn’t have been more wrong about his character and strength. And to put Lacey with him it was chefs kiss! Lacey is a beautiful character inside and out I love there relationship development. And the spice! I didn’t know it was going to be so delicious cough hand necklace cough 🫠 I melted This was a wonderful ending to the Wild Series I loved getting to read the journey of the West Family in all its beauty and the imagery come on I need to find me a cowboy! If you haven’t read this series you are miss out!
The fourth and final book in the Wild Series was truly a wild ride. Jessica does it again and again with well written characters and encompassing storylines.
Colby and Lacey are something else and I really loved following along on this enemies to lovers story. This book has everything from romance, to suspense, to emotional depth.
What a wild ride it’s been with this series, can’t wait to see what else is in store from Jessica Myel!
This is book #4 in the Wild Series. Wow! I can’t believe the series is done. Sad to see the West family go. I want to know more. So many emotions during this book. Colby and Lacey had a different meet cute than other couples, but it makes for a good story.
CAWFILE: 9.29 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Read more from this author? Yes!
This is 1 of 4 books in the Wild series. Of course reading all of the books makes sense in regards to characters that may come up, however you can read as a standalone. We meet Lacey, who is strong and resilient. Enter Colby, our cowboy in the story. The enemies to lovers trope is always *chefs kiss* and this did not dissapoint. I loved all their shared moments and the build up to their love. As usual I liked this rodeo of emotions *lame tempt at cowboy reference* would recommend this book
Book four in the the WILD series. Colby is a cowboy with a mission takes his his ranch to a new level. Lacey is ahead strong lady with no way out. Both wanted nothing to do with each other. Like always faith has a funny way to teach them about love and faith. This one had everything. I love how both wanted freedom but got something greater.
