The bond shared between rider & Dragon is wonderful.!
This book is not a novel, it's part of a serial also it's not YA but NA

Lots of action, adventure and fantasy!

I DEVOURED all 3 books! I’m so happy this series will continue in book 4. I really enjoyed the main character, Zara, and her dragon Lessie. The story is action/adventure focused with a fantasy steampunk setting. Fast paced with a dash of political intrigue and a subplot of romance made this a really enjoyable read for me. I have read quite a few books by Jasmine Walt and this series is probably my new favorite. If you love dragons and fantasy, this is a great series for you to read! 💗💗💗

Not 4th Wing

I purchased this 3 book series because it was hyped as a book that was written before 4th Wing but the same kind of book. Are there dragons? Yes. Is there a military academy? Yes. But that is about all the similarities they share. This is a much more inexperienced author with a scattered process of telling a story. At least half a dozen times there were errors in the storyline that were covered up by random things. Would I recommend? Yes, if you are looking for filler reading.

I'm a sucker for a book about dragon riders, and I saw lots of people online comparing this to fourth wing, and I think that's incredibly unfair. The premise of dragon riding and dragon rider schools is not solely fourth wing. I think the main character here is so dynamic and fun to read about. I don't think any of the side characters are flushed out all that well until it becomes necessary for the plot, but really such an easy read and fun concept. These books are short, fun, and exciting to read.

colorful characters both human and dragon

Zara, the heroine has a mysterious past. First memories were at the orphanage. Lived on the streets until a master thief takes her in to train a thief. Then everything changes on a heist for her mentor. Zara touches a very old dragon egg. Then the fun really begins.

A very enjoyable adventure! This is Books 1-3 of 6.

I really enjoyed reading these books. I just happened upon them and I'm very happy that I did. The adventures that Zara and Lessie find themselves in, is both exciting and heart-wrenching. You feel sad or angry when they do or excited and happy. The humor in this book is well placed at the right times.

you won’t regret reading this series

Really great read! Has all the elements that are needed for a great fantasy, the authors writing is fantastic. And the storyline is compelling. I have been out of the fantasy genre for a while but this has pulled me straight back in and reminded me why I love the genre so much.

The first book was pretty good and I was excited to continue on with the other two audiobooks.

I don’t think the second or third books surmounted to much. To be honest, I’m my opinion, they were fairly boring.

Also I HATE when books are uneventfully throughout then end of a cliffhanger.

Decent read

Enjoyed the story. Love Lessie the dragon. Nastiness of some characters seems a bit overdone and the court martial thing too easily resolved.

The first three books in this great series.

#1 Call of the Dragon - 5*
Zara Kenrook had been abandoned at an orphanage in childhood and by definition that meant she was destined to live in the slums but she has managed to gain a name as one of the best treasure hunters in Elantia. However she does have enemies and when one calls in a debt she is faced with an impossible decision - break into a dragon rider's house and steal a priceless object or lose her career and start again doing something else. However, the object she tries to steal is incorrect and is actually a dragon's egg which starts to hatch - when they see each other life will never be the same again.

Wow - this is a great story that had drama, twists and turns all through the book. I loved the concept of the world, the dragon riders and the scrapes she found herself in. It was well written and everything was well written and easy to understand and feel. I loved the ending and can't wait for the next book in the series now as I really need to know what happens next.

#2 Flight of the Dragon - 5*
Zara is a Dragon Rider and Lessie is her Dragon and when they met the certainly had no idea the sorts of trials and dangers they would have to face together. There have been several murders and kidnapping attempts so her enigmatic family head (Lord Tavarian) has transported them to a secret location to complete their training off the grid on a 1-2-1 basis. However, war is on the horizon and Salcombe is determined to find Zara - before they know it they are being attacked on all fronts and are forced to fight for a cause they are obliged to take part in even if they don't really believe in it. Can they follow the rules even if they know they are not always right or will the rebel streak that is so much part of Zara's character contribute to victory or will it be death?

Wow - I am loving the way the story has continued for Zara and Lessie. The challenge between duty and going against it to do the right thing were well described in the story and I could definitely feel the frustration and dilemma in the choices that had to be made. There were several moments where crucial moments were reached and decisions had to be made - I could understand all of the information and viewpoints including why she decided the way she did. Looking forward to the next book now so I find out what happens next!

#3 Might of the Dragon - 5*
Zara and Lessie are still separated and Zara is stuck in the clutches of Salcombe who keeps her behaving as if she is happy to be there by threatening both her and Lessie. By a combination of Zara's wits and Lessie's determination, she manages to escape only to be charged with treason and jailed before a court-martial.

Wow - loved this instalment of the story. It was amazing to read about Lessie's love and faith in Zara and what she would do into order to protect her. There was a lot of drama, danger and excitement in sections of the story and I loved the way it ended - I wondered it that might happen and now I'm hoping with everything that it works out and becomes a real and permanent thing (no I'm not going to tell you more - you just have to read it lol).

This book was a lot of fun. A professional thief accidently steals a dragon egg. She was going a dragon heart. The problem? The egg hatches, and now she's a dragon rider.

Warning: This book has it's vulgar moments. A few swear words, and a few more to where I wouldn't suggest letting your kid read this series. A shame, because my son would have loved it, and there's so little, that it could be taken out and wouldn't change the story at all.

Overall, great book. I loved the character and the character development of the thief having to leave the world she knows to begin training at a school for dragon riders. I think more time could have been spent on lessons, but the bond between rider and dragon was fantastic, as is the storyline.

Was good

Book one was pretty good but two and three were a bit slow. Zara was pretty strong at the start but I found her a bit annoying in second and third book as she kept putting herself in funny situations. Not sure what the author was doing but Zara almost became one of those brainless heroines that I dislike. Anyway, I'll read the forth book

Two and a half Stars

I really enjoyed the first book. Enough so that I read the second, which was not as good. However, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and read the Third. I won't be reading the 4th

Enjoyable

Nice coming of age tale, with a fine handle on the human side. Good suspense and most of the pacing, & strong, defined characters. Escape fiction. Might be worth a read.
