The battle against The Shadow King is over, but the war has only just begun.
In the wake of our victory, the underworld is sealed and I'm living my happy ever after with my fated mates.
Everything is perfect.... but the Anti Magick Alliance hasn't forgotten me. And they have unearthed a terrifying weapon that could annihilate not just me but all supernatural beings.
Called upon by the Bureau, my mates and I must journey to Cambridge, England, where a reclusive witch holds the key to our survival.
Upon arrival, we encounter Kim, a demon hunter with a tragic past and a hidden strength, and Lucien Seraphim, a vampire professor whose silent, confident arrogance intrigues me. He seems to know about The Original Six, and I can't shake the feeling that he's keeping something from us.
As we delve deeper into the shadows, secrets are unveiled, alliances are forged and broken, and passions are ignited.
Can we save one of our own and defeat an enemy more ruthless than anything we've faced before? Or will the icy grip of betrayal shatter everything I've come to love and trust?
'Blood' is the seventh book in The Phoenix Prophecy series. Books seven, eight, and nine will form a complete story arc. For content warnings, check the author's site.
"Blood" is the start of a new intriguing storyline in "The Phoenix Prophecy". It was a nice surprise to meet Nova and her men again, with a storyline that combines elements of the previous parts of the series with some new surprising plot points. Even better, the author also introduces some new fascinating characters in "Blood", maybe even some potential harem members? Not sure where the storyline is going on that part, but I'm definitely game to watch it all unfold.
On top of a great storyline, fascinating characters and the added worldbuilding the author gives her readers plenty of spicy scenes. I believe the plot/spice ratio ends up at 1/1, so if you love that I absolutely recommend this series. And if you've read the previous parts of this series, you'll definitely want to read this part of their story. If you're interested on starting the series now, I do however have to advice you all to start with the first book in the Phoenix Prophecy. Otherwise, this book won't make a whole lot of sense.
As usual, the author can't help herself and leaves us all hanging at the edge of a cliff with this book. Luckily, the next book doesn't seem to be that far away.
This book is classified as Paranormal Romance, and is book seven of a connected series. It does have a trigger warning list: spy references, graphic spice, references to DV, scars, injury from fire, death from fire, fire-play, addiction, brief NONCON, breath play, DOM/SUB, praise, daddy, age gap, blood play/biting, foster siblings, mention of suicide.
The book is written in first person. This book has multiple point of views: Nova, Mack, Kole, Tanner, Sam, Luther, Kim, and Lucien. Nova, Mack, Kole, Tanner, and Luther are all from books one through six. Sam is from books three through six. Nova is now The Pheonix, and Mack is separated from Snow. Kole had reopened his bar, and Luther is back to being a Sheriff. Tanner is also back to Nursing, while Sam is struggling to find his place and worth within the relationship. Kim is a human demon hunter and Lucien is a vampire who works at Cambridge.
In this story, it starts three months after war, and we further learn more about Kole's past. This book does end on a cliffhanger.
this book caught me by surprise, here i thought the series was all wrapped but oh nay nay there is more to come and boy oh boy did this book start off with a sexy moment woah boy that was the best!
the moment Mack fell down i just knew what was in store for him and also poor snow my poor cinnemonroll why did the author have to pick Daddy Mack out of the four.. guess because hes the most liked?
all the ups and down threw me for a loop and kept me on edge. but man i was all there for it and somehow wanted more..
am beyond happy to see theres 2 more books coming because now that ive read this i need more and like yesterday.
Nova and all the guys truely amazing they tackle the dangers and troubles head on and stay somewhat strong.
the way the author wrote this had me hungry for more its like not much time passed since book 6 and i love that it made it so easy to get back into their world and how they think and feel.
big fat 5 stars for this pearl! bring on the rest!!
Please, please, get an editor, or a better one. Changing perspectives every chapter only works when you actually remember to separate the chapter and name whose perspective we’re reading from. Mack suddenly transitions into Nova without warning and it’s noticeable when “Mack” references himself. One has to read a few more sentences to figure out that it’s Nova again, but there was no break. Also, the typos and spelling errors are painful. One does not try to “buy” their feelings, they “bury” them. Just a couple examples. I’m a completist, so I have to finish this series, but these things make it so difficult to get through. Here I was thinking a writer had to care about having good grammar and storytelling skills as well as triple checking their manuscript before publishing it. Silly me.
I was beyond excited to learn that Nova's story wasn't quite over and we'd be getting three additional books adding on to what was already an incredible series. Blood plops us straight back into Nova's life after the end of Fire Bird but with new problems (plus the AMA threats that were still prominent from the previous storyline) that all appear to be connected. On top of an intriguing plot, the steam and relationships are still a couple of my top favorites in regards to these characters. I flew through this book and am eager to see how Nova and her men are going to get through the new obstacles being presented!
Wow! I was so excited to find that Nova and her guys’ story would continue and it was so much better than I could have imagined! First though, the steam is absolutely amazing! Nova and the guys have trouble on a few different fronts and it’s all somehow connected. They have to figure out how to save Daddy Mac and Snow, deal with the AMA threats, survive the trip to England, plus deal with that ending (trying for minimal spoilers). I didn’t put this down and am so thrilled to see where Cara takes us on this journey!
I'll be honest with how I thought book 6 ended it was the end of the series so when this book turned up I was curious about what would happen in it?
Well Nova (FMC) and the guys still have problems with AMA but now Mack & Snow are suffering their own complications. Ones that take half the guys to Cambridge, UK for help. Only things don't go as planned there. This book definitely keeps you on your toes. With that WTH cliff-hanger ending bring on book 8 I'm ready for it. Can't wait.
Nova and the gang are back in a spicy, new adventure to save the world! I was thrilled to see that there were more books coming out in The Phoenix Prophecy Series! Blood does not disappoint! Short, spicy, and of course...ends on a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see what happens with Nova and the guys in the next two books.
-You must read the first 6 books before reading this one.
Okay so we’ve wrapped up the old storyline and are starting a new one where the big bad is the AMA, who have purchased an “unmake supernaturals” stick at an auction run by supes, which doesn’t make much sense. Now we gotta go find the witch who knows how to make the potion that will both destroy the staff and fix papa bear and Snow by putting them back together.
Eh, the plot seems a little thin, but it’s only the first book in a trilogy, so we’ll see.

I really loved the first 6 books but I'm big time struggling on this one. I know the odd mistake in a book is bound to happen and I don't usually find them to be a big deal, but there are so many in this book. The worst one being chapter 13, which starts off in Mack's pov however mid chapter it suddenly changes to Nova's pov without any warning. It confused me so much, I had to re-read it several times to make sense of it.
What a cliffhanger, now I'm going to suffer till the next book haha This was such a good read, I was dying to see more about their relationship, there's so much to explore, and the plot is giving me anxiety to know more, how's everything is going to develop and end. Love the new characters and can't wait to see their involvement in the story
Way to start a book off with a bang! The very 1st scene was spicy and I'm living for it! I was so happy to see Cara coming back to this series. It was short and sweet but I loved it. I really enjoyed how is filled back story on characters we know and loved. It felt like it made them more real in a sense. Can't wait until the next one!
Nova and her men are on another very dangerous journey and things are going to get way worse before they get better. I'm so excited about this series having 3 more books Cara Clare's world building and characters are incredibly breathtaking. Waring the cliffhanger will leave u hanging literally lol, definitely read all these books!
I enjoy these characters and liked the first arc. The spice was good but not a lot happened plot wise? I realize it’s a setup for another trilogy so I expect things will pick up but not my favorite installment. I almost feel like the POV shifts too often. And the book did still have some issues and needs better editing.
I can't with this series!!! Although it's dragging just a bit the story and plots are so enticing I can't stop reading them I'm so excited to read the next book!!! I'm a bit intrigued how there are new characters included now and honestly I think everyone wants to fuck nova in this series it is hilarious. I just hope mack and snow are OK love the papa bear baloo. 🥰

Overall a good quick read (like the rest of the series). I feel like some parts can be rushed, but since the books are generally less than 300 pages that’s kinda what I expect. Pretty decent smut RH and I like the story line.
Blood is so good! I was a little worried starting the last 3 books in The Phoenix Prophecy as the first 6 books wrapped up so well and I loved them that I didn't want to be disappointed. I should've known Cara wouldn't let me down - I loved Blood too! Nova and Kole seem a little different in this book, but I think that's me trying to make sure they don't set a foot out of line😂. My Snow & Daddy Mack better be okay though, that's all I'm saying😅 Can't wait to get started on book 8: Ice. Really looking forward to getting more to this section of story. And it never hurts to have more Lucien Thornfield and Kim😉 (they're the MMC's for Luna, which you should also definitely read - it's out now!)
The Phoenix Prophecy (9 book series) is available on Amazon and KU - I advice you jump there now and start your journey with Nova and the guys. You won't regret it!
Nice intro to the finale. I like Kim and hope he gets more page time. I'd like to see what powers continue to grow and if he'll be an addition to the team, but in London.
I read a lot of reviews complaining about how this series continues.. but I have to disagree. I like this side of the group. It feels real. Were getting away from the fairytale side of things and seeing how everything works after they save the world. It's cool!
Totally worth the wait! That cliff hanger tho. Oh boy. Glad I dont have to wait for book 8 and I can just continue. So excited to see what happens next.
