Good Girls Go To Hell

Rate this book
She’s his enemy’s daughter . . . and the love he left behind

Lucifer Visconti. My ghost. My knight. My captor.
I was the mafia princess in a secluded castle. He was the help.
A disreputable friendship turned into forbidden romance.
I thought he died with my family eight years ago until I got delivered to his doorstep. Cold, stoic, and demanding, this Lucifer is nothing like the man I knew. Locked behind the walls of his Manhattan castle, I find a new version of myself.
We might not have a second chance at love, but we could make the most out of our time left together.

Stella Morelli. My friend. My enemy. My redemption.
Combined we have more demons than hell.
Once upon a time I used to climb the vines to her terrace and protect her from the world. Now I’m her jailor, the man on top of the family who ruined hers.
I was given an ultimatum—hand her over or kill her.
No one touches my princess.
The five most dangerous families in New York, including mine, are knocking on my door. The promises I’ve made are looming over me and the threat of war is whispered in the corners of the room.
Love, betrayal, or death. Which one is it going to be?

I really liked this book! It’s easy to read and the story captured me so fast I couldn’t wait to see what happens next. Stella is a very well described character and I really enjoyed reading about her journey through life. Lucifer is a “bad boy” with good heart who only shows it to Stella. I haven’t read the first book but Dominic seems a pretty dark hero and I whanna know more about him!

I got an ARC and I can easily call this book a page-turner that effortlessly combines elements of romance, intrigue, and danger. Set against the backdrop of the gritty mafia underworld, this spicy romance novel kept me enthralled from start to finish.

The chemistry between the two lead characters, Lucifer and Stella, is scorching hot, making their forbidden love story utterly captivating. The author skillfully balances their intense attraction with the tension of their dangerous circumstances, creating a love story that is both steamy and suspenseful.

The plot is cleverly woven with intricate twists and turns, keeping me on the edge of my seat and making it impossible to put down. The author's vivid descriptions of the mafia world add an extra layer of authenticity to the story, making it feel like I was right there in the midst of the action.

"Good girls go to hell" is not just a love story; it's an adrenaline-pumping rollercoaster of emotions. If you're a fan of spicy romance novels with a touch of danger and intrigue, this book is an absolute must-read. I couldn't put it down, and I eagerly await more from this talented author!

This book was an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

It started with our FMC Stella getting kidnapped and thrown to the wolves, in this case her ex-lover and childhood friend, Lucifer. Stella’s upbringing made her spoiled and a little too sheltered. Her relationship with Lou seems icky because while they were together as a kid, Stella actually lost her virginity as a 16 year old to a 20 year old Lou and that gave me a huge pause. Stella also has this awe and reverence towards Lou. There's this childlike innocence to her demeanours. She idolises him a lot even when he was trying to keep her safe by keeping his distance. But fundamentally I think Stella just latched onto Lou as her lifeline as a child and she never grew out of her feelings for him.

Also I don’t know why it’s so funny that Stella kept describing Lou as this hot as hell older, mature man because he’s just 28 year old now. I’ve seen men that age and I wouldn’t say they’re anything worth waxing poetic over lol. Again this proved how much Stella was blind to Lou’s flaws. Also what I didn’t enjoy much was the unbalanced dynamic between the two of them at the start. Stella has made it clear from their reunion that she still loved Lou and that she wanted him more than anything. Meanwhile Lou maintained this distance and kept his feelings close to his heart.

Of course things got so much better as the storyline picks up and gets more intense. The drama and angst were so addicting and it felt like I was watching a movie as the plot progresses. The plot twists were endless and unpredictable. It was a whole thing. I find myself rooting for Stella and Lou as they went through obstacles over obstacles just to get their happy ending. One would say their relationship was build on lies and manipulation but the fact that they were still able to overcome everything for each other was so worth it. I loved how Stella as a person changes so much from that spoiled princess into a woman who knew what she wanted and stood her ground to achieve that goal. Lou was lucky to have her unconditional love.

Overall this was an intense page-turner that will have you rooting for Stella and Lou as they fight tooth and nail for their happy ever after. This is the kind of romance Shakespeare would approve of.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review which in no way affected my thoughts and opinions.

Thank you for the ARC ✨
.
She’s his enemy’s daughter. He’s her long-lost first love.

Stella Morelli, a mafia princess used to be secluded in her family’s castle. Not until the massacre 8 years ago, where she lost everything including her love and knight–or that is what she thought. Until she came to his doorstep, Lucifer Visconti, the ghost of her past but very much alive.

Between love, betrayal, or death. Lucifer needs to protect Stella from the mafia war between the five most dangerous families in New York. Will they survive the war and love again?

✿ Mafia Romance
✿ Childhood Friends to Lovers
✿ Second Chance Romance
✿ “Touch her and you die” trope

👿Published on October 12, this book is the second from the Masquerade series–an interconnected standalone series, but you can read it independently. I don’t read many mafia romances, but I have to say that this book is becoming my favorite! From the character development, and the spice, to the depth of details on fashion design and the mafia world is amazing ✨

Stella’s development is amazing, how she becomes strong enough to fight the ghost of her past. Truly a ball of sunshine, she was very lovable ❤️‍🔥She was also diagnosed with an eating disorder–and I think Leah did great in describing the feeling of people with bulimia, how their surrounding reacts and how it impacts them. Stella is the depiction of a meek princess who turns into a girl-boss queen! 👑

I hope there’s more exploration of Lucifer’s perspective and more grovel from him as I feel a lot of potential in loving his character if I knew more about him. Regardless, I appreciate his effort to get a peaceful life with Stella (especially after all the mention of Romeo and Juliet, I was kind of scared they would end the same) 🫢

The storyline is easy to follow, the perfect combination of dark heavy angst with bubbly sweet banter. Totally recommended for those who want to start a journey in mafia romance with a great plot and spice 🔥

“She shouldn’t be mine, but I won’t allow her to be anyone else’s. I can’t. This will cause one hell of a shitstorm, but she’s worth going to war for.”

Eight years ago, Stella lost her entire family and first love in a massacre done by the rival mafia family. Little does she know, Lucifer was able to escape and he has been keeping tabs on her ever since. They reunite when Stella gets kidnapped (again). She is so overwhelmed with having him back, she fears that it won’t last forever. Lucifer tries his best to keep his distance for his own sanity and her safety, but we all know that’s not going to last very long.

I’ve read quite a few mafia romances lately but this one has definitely been my favorite. Sometimes the story lines feel the same or overdone, but I felt this one was a little different than the rest. The story line was also super easy to follow; this is also something I struggle with when reading mafia romances. The pieces where Stella discusses her bulimia felt really authentic and honest. I was a littleeee nervous that they wouldn’t get their happy ending with all of the twists and turns (there are plenty of surprises in this one!), but I’m so glad they did. My only wish was that there was a little more from Lucifer’s POV because I love seeing a man pine & grovel. Leah–thank you SO much for this advanced copy! I need more ASAP!!!!

Wow! There's lots of things to love about this book yet it feels like there's so much potential to do a bit... more.. yet, it felt a little short in my book. Good Girls Go to Hell is like a well written delicacy that follows your good ol' recipe of mysterious dark guy going after his girl when the whole world is against their relationship.

You can pick this up and expect a good book! But, maybe it's too good for me to consider it great. Good plotline, but there's not anything that particularly kept me on my toes - it felt all a little too predictable (especially if you read alot of this sort of genre)

I flew through this book, and enjoyed the journey but hit some minor plot holes that seemed entirely out of place. The author does a lot of telling not describing (I distinctly remember the FMC mentioning her "size 5 shoes"). I definitely prefer to discover these things through the plot rather than being told - because it felt like a Wattpad book.

Regardless, this is like a good - secure - know it tastes good meal. It's a safe choice that's enjoyable! Good plot with spice.

Thank you for Author Leah K Plamm for an advance reader's copy! This review was given on behalf of receiving that copy!

I got this book as an ARC. I definitely want say to check the trigger warning before reading this book since it does incorporate dark elements and wearing disorder.

Tropes
Mafia
Forbidden romance
Close proximity
Long lost love
Eating Disorder

Where do I start this book, this books has the spice if you are looking for that. The relationship between the FMC and MMC was a whirlwind to say the least. The ons and offs the good and the bad/gritty we see it all between them both.

Luficer (MMC) is a mafia boss trying to protect Stella from her father’s past. He tries to battle with his internal feelings for Stella and feels he isn’t worth her love and attention. Things take a turn when he can’t resist his true feelings for Stella.

Stella dealing with her present when her past comes crashing in. All the while she lapses with her eating disorder. You read how she deals with it and overcomes it.

This book had me engaged to say the least. A lot of plot twists I definitely didn’t see coming.

!Highly recommend looking up the trigger warnings!

Over all the book was amazing but I think my head wasn't in the right mindset at this point.
I will do a reread at this point but I will have to look when. But I have to say it was a page turner! Also at the beginning I was really confused with Lucifers character. Usually I love characters like this form the beginning so idk why I had a hard time with Lucifer... Stella had a hard past... and also she has to deal with her eating disorder.

Loved the tension between them. It was the right pace. Also loved the "touch her and you die trope" :)

If I look back at the story it should've at least been a 4.5 read for me. After my reread the rating will be higher. But as mentioned above my head wasn't in the right mindset... I promise the reread!

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review*

That you to Leah K for a copy of this ARC, and let me tell you it did not disappoint 👏🏾

With mafia romances being one of my favorite genres to read, I was so excited. Good Girls Go to Hell is now favorite mafia book of all times, especially that it was estranged friends to lovers ( literally the best trope
Combo in my opinion, the angst, the main characters, the possessiveness of the MMC, I could go on. This book was amazing and I can’t wait to read it again(bc I’m that obsessed).

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

This book is easily my favorite mafia romance. It’s just.. *chef’s kiss*

Lucifer is brooding and possessive and drool worthy. Stella is bold and knows what she wants in life. The chemistry between them is borderline explosive.

The lovers to enemies (very briefly) to lovers storyline is executed so well. The two of them can’t deny the heat between them so any animosity quickly burns out.

Overall, this book is packed to the brim with angst and delicious banter, and if you like mafia romance, you won’t be disappointed.

I think I’m just not a fan of mafia romance books tbh. Plus there were some parts that made me think “WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS??” Idk just wasn’t my cup of tea, but I still will be reading the next book in the series because I loved the first one and there wasn’t anything wrong with this book, I just think it wasn’t for me!

it kept me on my toes the entire time, it's the type of book where you can't get bored while reading it. there was enough unexpectedness.
He was her first and last love, because after 8 years of thinking that he was dead, she gets kidnapped and brought to him.

If you’re looking for a fast paced book that keeps you interested in what’s gonna happen next the whole time, this is the book for you. I gave it a 4 because I was missing out on it being more detailed, but that is my own personal want from a book. Happy reading 🧚🏽‍♀️

Author: Leah K. Plamm

Review: This is the second book in the series and I loved Stella and Lou’s story.
There is so much heartache but love overall. I did feel that the book was missing something, maybe more action/suspense but overall I loved the characters and POV’s. I can’t wait for the next instalment.

This was my first foray into mafia romances, well, unless you count "The Godfather." This book tells the story of Stella Morelli, the daughter of a late Italian mob boss, and the lone survivor of an attack on her family's compound in Scilly. Stella moves to NY after the massacre and decides to live a life on the straight and narrow as a high-end fashion designer, until one day, she's kidnapped and dropped on the doorstep of Lucifer Visconti, her childhood best friend, and later lover, who she thought as killed in the attack on her compound. Visconti has risen in the ranks of the mob and has learned that the Russian mob is hoping to use Stella as a bargaining chip to take out the Italian Mafia in the area. So now, he must do everything in his power to protect her. Overall, I thought this book was fine. It was decently written, the characters were complex, and I LOVE a "Who did this to you?" moment. There were also so many unexpected twists and turns, which made for an interesting read. Tropes include second-chance romance, friends-to-lovers, forced proximity, and a wee bit of Stockholm syndrome.
