This book drags readers along with the heroine and the hero constantly groaning about not being able to convince each other to break the engagement. Then, the parents decide to get a special license to marry the couple before they can escape. What drivel! This is an accomplished author with many great books under her belt. This isn't one of them.

The Spinster's Club was not helpful; they seemed to be filler to rescue a dull story, and it didn't work. The big scene is when they decide they are in love with each other, and it is sappy (this is just before the GREAT MISUNDERSTANDING).

I finished this book against my better judgment. Fortunately, the author had the sense to end the relationship between Evan and his father, the Duke, as she did. She wrote the Duke as an unredeemable character. As thanks for that mercy, I gave the book a G rating.

Childhood Trauma from Paternal Power affects Betrothed Behavior

Olivia wants to be a spinster due to the unfaithful, disrespectful ways her father treats her mother. At the age of 12, she rejected any relationship with him. Evan suffered cruel physical and verbal abuse until he was 16 and ran away to safely live with his aunt for a decade. Now they find themselves in an arranged betrothal. Miraculously, they use amusing banter and develop friendship with mutual admiration. Precious, tender moments become genuine affection that jumped off the page into my heart! So many twists in the plot lead to reluctant, romantic emotions. Through every negative incident, Evan has support from his cousins and Olivia has support from her friends in the Spinsters Club. The kisses and proposalS are worth waiting for! This is a very engaging, endearing story **********

THEY BOTH WANTED THE SAME THING - BUT WHAT WAS IT

OLIVIA - Witnessed something as a child that convinced her never to marry - believing all men marry for money or status rarely for love and have mistresses, yet wives had to remain in the marriage. WITH HER FRIENDS THEY CREATED the SPINSTER
CLUB.
(Everything was going to plan until her father into her she was to marry.

EVAN - MARQUES - WELL KNOWN REPUTATION AS A ROGUE
he had dreadful childhood his mother died young, he blamed his father the Duke for the deaths of his mother and he would beat Evan until he left to live with his aunt and cousins.
The Duke told Evan his only purpose was to marry produce an
HEIR TO CARRY ON HIS FATHER'S DYNASTY.
EVAN vowed this would never happen. ( until the day came when he was informed he would be getting married).

EVAN WAS TO DIE FOR - LOVED THE LETTER AND THE DAISY !
I LOVED THIS BRILLIANT STORYLINE BRILLIANT LOVE STORY.
GREAT CHARACTERS LOVED THE MEMBERS OF THE CLUB -
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK.

When Fathers Do Not Always have your Interests at Heart

I enjoyed this story. It is well-written. Evan has had a difficult childhood with a cruel father. Olivia has been unhappy because of her father's relationships causing her mother anguish. When they are told they are to marry in an arranged marriage, they are both determined to reject the proposal and end the courtship. Despite that, gradually Evan and Olivia begin to develop feelings for each other. Many of their family and friends are supportive but throughout the story, their fathers cause heartache. Will Evan be able to overcome his fears and challenge his father? Will Olivia be able to forgive her father and move forward? Will they find happiness after all the heartache? Read on and enjoy.

Great Book to Read

This story is full of difficult moments. It shows how a father hurt his child because he thought he was teaching him to be tough, but as a teenager this child left his father and went to live with his aunt. Also, Lady Anna was part of a sprinters club and never wanted to get married because she thought men were not truthful because of her father. Evan grew up with his aunt and as he got older Anna's father and Evans father made a deal to marry them and that is when all the troubles begin. In the end, they really fall in love and eventually got married. Evan cut the relationship with his father. Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. Great job Tiffany !

Halfway through the story, I absolutely despised Olivia's friends and Olivia herself. They just couldn't give Evan a chance, but eventually, they all did. Evan had to earn Olivia's trust after what he did 3/4s of the way through. Olivia grew on me. Her strength and her fears and doubts. I have a feeling Leah's story is going to wreck me with how hateful she is towards men. Im glad that Evan and Olivia reconciled. I'm glad Olivia and her father sort of reconciled. And I'm glad Evan confronted his father and got the closure he needed. I look forward to Evan becoming a Duke and Olivia being a Duchess. They will be amazing parents too!!

very nice read

Olivia is one of four spinsters who are dear friends who formed their own little club. Each has her own reason for being in said club. When Olivia is told by her father she will be betrothed to Evan, a marquise with a reputation, she is determined to get out of it. Evan has his own personal heartaches and feels the same. Why they have such strong feelings against marriage and what all occurs that ultimately has them find their happiness together is nicely told in this clean and sweet romance. A very nice read

Unwanted arranged engagement

Olivia had a poor opinion of men and determined to never marry. Evan had a distorted view of family and never thought he could bring himself to marry. An arranged engagement brought the two together, although both sought ways to end it. Misunderstandings and past betrayals erected obstacles as they began to fall in love. Olivia and Evan were great characters who grew and changed their expectations as their love grew.

Why did I wait so long to read this book!!! OMGoodness, I couldn’t put it down. I loved the camaraderie and the closeness that the ladies had. But the real love story is all about Olivia and Evan. They found each other. Love was there waiting for them to meet! The two people that they hated the most brought them together! Go pick it up people, You’ll not regret it.

Great

Wow what a wonderful story from the 1st book from the Spinsters Club Series. Lots of intriguing suspense with a lot of romance to booth. Story had its ups and downs between two individuals who are determined to get the other person to call off the courtship/betrothal so they could save face. But the joke was on them, because they both had the same ideas, not knowing that they would we’re headed to true love and a happily ever after.

The Betrothed Doth Protest!

Smirks, sarcasm, heroic spinsters, and miscommunication abound in this celebration of an unwanted betrothal by the bride and groom. Though they fight to undermine each other, wild horses couldn't keep them apart. But unfortunately, dark secrets and mistrust can. Read this book if you love a dedicated group of girlfriends, a swoon- worthy gentleman, and second chances at love.

Daisy House

Olivia’s dad arranged for her to marry Evan, a known rake. She had made a vow as a member of Spinsters Club to never let a man break her heart. They both had trust issues and balked at ever turn. A simple daisy brought a simple everlasting love ❤️
Great characters and story line.

I’ll say this was ok. There were so many boring parts in the book that just seemed unnecessary. I feel like with the characters - something was missing and I can’t put my finger on it but it was blah. It felt too long for what it was too. I’d say this would be ok but not great and I gave it 3. Once the characters met I thought it would pick up but it coasted. I don’t really get why they fell in love.

I really enjoyed both of thier plans & how they thought so similar & how they couldn't help but be draw together. I also really appreciated Anna & how she really looked out for what was best for Olivia & what Olivia really wanted, I thought she was a wonderful friend. I would have like the low point to be shorter, but their relationship & story was a fun read & a nice story!

Great story!

This was one of the best stories I've ever read. Exciting plot, very engaging characters. I barely could turn the page fast enough. The banter between the Spinster's Club members was hilarious and between Olivis and Evan precious. Definitely a must read.

lol loved the name of their group

I absolutely love regency novels that not only have one spinster but a whole bunch of them. There seems to be more depth to the character and that was the case in Olivia. I want to stomp on Evan’s toes for being a dunce at times.

Sweet Love Story

Many humorous moments in this young couple's desire to sabotage their arranged relationship. I confess that I was in tears through their trials. I hope to read follow-up tales of the spinster group.

Reject a Marquess

I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Tiffany. The banter between Olivia and Marquees in the beginning of the story was quite entertaining as were the rest of the spinster club. What they suffered in their childhood was keeping them from each other, but love won out.

This was a good story. Evan and Olivia had a rough beginning. But love brought them a happy life. Some fathers do that beating to children and it is wrong.
