Egbe Orun; Path to Self Discovery. Yoruba culture made us believe that we all have a spiritual comrade called Egbe Orun; they are like our friends on earth but in heaven. This spiritual entity shadows us in the world and guides us before and after birth. They are part of our subconscious and one of the ways to connect to oneself to be whole. The journey to connect with Egbe Orun to self-discovery is like embracing Ori; it is a personal, self-serving, and life journey. It is not a size fit. Just as we use mirrors to reflect our physical features, we can also look within to explore our inner world. Egbe Orun is that sacred club that has always been in plain sight but you were never able to access.
What I liked about this author's perspective is that she endorses other tools like fasting and meditating to get into that heightened spiritual state. Being Christian for 50 years before finding Ìṣéṣé, it was counterintuitive to let go of the tools I had developed for so long. I'm glad that I can use them to actualize my great destiny.
What makes the Ègbé topic such a hot one is that we all have them but we forget our vows to them when we cross into this realm. We don't get off for forgetting we get whopped. You can never learn enough about them. I'm just glad to have this knowledge in my mental library and am looking forward to really expanding my spiritual gifts and talents with my Ẹgbé. I'm going to circle the block with her first book 📙 on Ẹgbé.
