This book was definitely helpful in my creation of my own high elf characters for the game Warhammer. The book is well organized into time lines and maps and linear information about the history of Ulthuan and of its supporting characters in that history. I learned about the various gods the elves acknowledge as well. I did read the dark elf codex to hopefully balance my understanding of the war of Ulthuan versus Naggarond, but I feel more compelled to champion the cause of the good guys on the side of order. I will probably refer to this book often when it comes to needing information about the elves--both books essentially tell the same history, I just feel that this one explains it more clearly and less repetitively (though reading battle after battle with the same push-and-pull outcome does get a bit tiring in either book).
