What do you do when a client threatens to stop doing business with your company because he finds out about a one-night stand you had with his daughter’s friend?
I’ll tell you what my siblings make me do.
They make me take our innocent IT Director with us to the client’s largest fundraising event…as my fake girlfriend.
They think this will help with my image and possibly salvage our relationship with our client.
Lexi is not my usual type at all. She’s shy, doesn’t wear makeup, and her clothes are two sizes too big for her.
But when it comes to fooling our client, he won’t believe it for a second. Not unless she dresses sexier, and maybe wears some makeup.
After I take her to a salon, and buy her some clothes that fit, I’m shocked to find out what’s underneath.
It’s not just her new look that’s throwing me off, it’s the confidence that has come with it.
The more time we spend together, the more I realize it’s not enough.
I want more.
I’ve never spent this much time with a woman before. Perhaps that's the reason I keep thinking of her differently.
It can't be because I've caught...feelings.

This was very cute and lighthearted read.❤️ I absolutly loved both characters, I could really connect with Lexi because she is also shy like me and Marcus is really giving golden retriver energy and they both bring the best version out of each other.
I think that 3rd act breakup and that whole situation could be avoided, but I also saw by the end why it happened that way.

If you are looking for something light, cute and spicy with fake dating trope, I would definitely recommend this.🫶

"Do you believe in fate?" he asks, surprising me with his question.
"I don't know. I think so. I think there is something bigger out there that can intervene or help orchestrate something that's meant to be."
"I think fate brought us together."
My heart skips a beat. He just says whatever he feels. It's incredible how he can do that without worrying about getting laughed at or his feelings stomped on.
"You do?" My voice cracks.
"Yeah. I think getting us in each other's lives clearly wasn't enough. I was too blind. Fate needed to create a scenario that opened my eyes to what was right in front of me."

Lexi works for the Giannelli family as their IT director. She likes to go under the radar, be invisible – she gives much more attention to her work than her looks, always has. Marcus is the youngest sibling, the one who has too much fun and screws up – at least that is how his siblings treat him. When a client threatens to stop doing business with them because Marcus slept with his daughter’s friend and didn’t call her back, the siblings convince Marcus and Lexi to pretend to be seriously dating to appease the client.

Another cute, quick, and spicy read! The characters had depth and chemistry, I laughed at the banter, and I cried at the third act breakup. It was really great to see both characters give each other confidence and to watch them grow into themselves – they really brought out the best in each other. Their love was fast but it felt very real. This story contained some fake dating, workplace romance, and the rest of the Giannelli family – which I loved. And I loved all the Italian food and wine, AND Marcus’ library – every book lovers dream!

Nicole Baker never disappoints, and this book was no different – love this series, and can’t wait for Mia’s story!

Thank you Nicole Baker for this ARC!

Nicole has a way with not only words but characters as well. She’s given us a beautiful family through this series and I’ve loved every character we’ve been introduced to.

I loved Marcus’ story. I’m so glad he got his HEA.

Marcus is the playboy, the troublemaker, the goof. His brothers always feel the need to protect him.

Lexi is the IT Director for their company. She’s new to the area and lives in her own little shell of a world.

What starts out as fun & games turns into a beautiful story about love, finding your true self, and making boundaries.

I’m so glad I got to witness Marcus & Lexi navigate through many emotions and challenges. It was emotional for me, too. I laughed with them, cried with them, and loved with them.

Such a beautiful story with even more beautiful characters.

There’s only one thing I’m not happy about. It ended. When you’re given amazing characters who you relate to & fall in love with it’s hard to not want & need more from them.

Thank you, Nicole, for allowing me to be a part of your arc team.

I’ve been waiting for the last brother’s book and boy did it give. 😅😅😅😅 I mean talk about spicyyyyy 🔥😍🌶️🌶️

You have a former player who is grown and trying to show his siblings he has matured that phase, then you have a shy girl who’s a bit of a nerd in the IT department. These two together 🔥🔥🔥🔥 was hot and steamy! They always say watch out for the quiet ones and who knew Lexi would have so much fire in her. ❤️‍🔥

This book had all the tropes I love ❤️
Fake dating ✅
Billionaire man ✅
Former player/nerd girl ✅
Spice ✅
I mean what more do I need? Oh and the last chapters leading up to the ending just broke me. 🥹 I mean I’m in love with all the characters and having a chapter of Gabe in there was just so perfect to see his point of view. ❤️ I loved this entire series but this one by far my favorite. 😍 I hope that we get one more book on Mia the last sibling in this book, fingers crossed 🤞she writes about her next. 🩷

ARC Review:

Nicole Baker's 'Where We Fall' is a spellbinding journey through the enthralling connection between Marcus and Lexi.

The narrative beautifully unfolds their unique story, highlighting Marcus's compassion amidst the challenges Lexi faces.

The spice level in their relationship is off the charts, adding a blush-worthy layer to the narrative.

Baker skillfully weaves Lexi into Marcus's family, creating a seamless integration that brings joy to every page. The happiness radiating from the characters mirrors the delightful progression of their relationship. 'Where We Fall' is a must-read for those seeking a blend of passion, compassion, and familial warmth in their romance novels.

I've read all of Nicole's releases and Marcus and Lexi's story is my favourite of her love stories. I've never been more heartbroken at a third act break up than I was with Where We Fall.

This fits a few tropes- fake relationship, workplace romance, reformed playboy. Marcus finds himself in a bit of a situation with a client after being caught not calling after a one night stand. He is shamed for it by his family and they conspire to set him up in a fake relationship to reform his image. I kinda loved the premise. Marcus is never what he is portrayed as. As the youngest he has been overlooked and disregarded as unreliable and impulsive. He is actually an all round great guy. And in falling for Lexi he becomes a perfect partner.

This is a beautifully detailed book that covers a lot of emotional ground. Nicole doesn't sugar-coat the issues Lexi has going on in the background. Lexi has to face the hard realities of caring for a parent with dementia. She is such a fun loving and sparky character. I felt her heartbreak right alongside her.

These two are perfect together and if I could have climbed into the book to save them pain I would have done. I so badly wanted these two to just be happy. But they get their and their HEA gave me all the warm and happy feels.

If you like fake dating or workplace romance, Where We Fall has you covered.

This is an incredibly spicey Dual POV romance with so much humor and heart. Marcus is sexy, supportive, funny and thoughtful. The relationship starts out fake but quickly evolves into something true, honest and open.

Please be aware that Lexis mom has dementia and since it is triggering for me watching a family member go through it, it is always a little jolting when I come across it in books. It is not so much a warning as a "just be prepared". While dealing with this in real life is horrific it does add a level of compassion and depth to the characters in the book.

There were many funny scenes in this book but when Marcus shows up with his empty bag for "dramatic effect" I was gone for him. I love a man with a sense of humor.

I have not read the other books in this series and was able to follow the story fine but I already have intentions to read the rest as I enjoyed Nicole's writing so much.

Thank you to the author for the ARC. These opinions are mine and are left voluntarily.

Although the MMC enjoys the single life and seems like a player he is at heart a good guy. The whole image change for the FMC and "she is not the regular type I would fu.. date" was a bit cringy and annoying.

I liked his personality and the fact he was always seen as the younger, immature guy, something which hurt him.

The FMC is Strong and she took the first step. Girl power!

There’s a lot to love about the story of Marcus and Lexi. Other reviews have covered the plot so just a few thoughts… probably too deep considering this is indeed fiction! :)

The two main characters are brilliant together and their story is wonderfully written. Seeing the other characters from the series is awesome and they continue to be more fleshed out. You *want* to spend time with them!

It was informative and appreciated to get a chapter from Gabe’s POV. Great idea by the author.

All that said…

Trigger warning: Lexi’s mom has early onset dementia and is in assisted living and hospital, and she becomes a very pivotal part of the story. The whole topic of her illness is handled beautifully but it’s still a bit triggering. (If you know you know.) It is not a reason to skip this beautiful love story.

When the conflict with her mom became a crucial point, I was a bit disappointed that an obvious idea was not discussed: having Lexi move her mom to Cleveland. She was changing care facilities for rehab anyway and I do not mean this in an insensitive way but there were many times she didn’t recognize her caregivers so her ties to one facility were not strong… so why not consider that option? They had no family or real estate in Chicago… and Cleveland certainly would offer medical options… so it just seemed odd to not consider it. That option would have allowed Marcus to stay close to his family and all the beautiful traditions and so on that had been built up throughout the series. Instead, he loses all of that and gives up his home (and library!!) without exploring or even discussing alternatives.

I mean, the whole series was based on ‘Little Italy’ and moving one of the siblings out of the area and away from the picture that had been painted throughout three stories seemed… wrong and a bit sad to me.

On the other hand, maybe Marcus needed the move to step more into being his own man, and less the “little brother”… and that’s the trade off for giving up his hometown and consistent time with his parents and extended family. In which case, I think I would’ve liked that angle played up a bit more… to make that seem like a bigger win. I mean, the whole series was centered around his hometown and now he leaves it behind…… I wanted the ‘reason why’ this was the best choice to be more boldly handled.

Those points are the only reason why I didn’t go full-on five star, because this is a great story.

Bottom line: it’s a love story with a lot of depth as well as the spicy and fun stuff. Definitely worth the read.

I read it on Kindle Unlimited but I’m purchasing it for future rereads of this series. It’s listed as book 3 of 3, but I certainly hope we’re going to get Mia’s story someday!

I've been an avid reader of Nicole Baker's since I stumbled upon one of her first ARC offerings and I am here to say this is her best book yet! Marcus and Lexi's character development, the storyline, the chemistry & dynamics - they strike all the right notes! The Giannelli siblings have been a great series thus far, but this one is my favorite.

Marcus, the youngest brother of the Giannelli siblings, struggles to break out from his 'baby bro' image with his older siblings to be treated like an adult and equal partner in their wine distribution business. When his lothario ways jeopardize their relationship with their largest customer, the siblings demand he clean up his image and his ways to save the business partnership. As it happens, we have the quiet mouse IT Director, Lexi, who can pretend to be his fake girlfriend to save the day. When a Pretty Woman makeover day reveals her hidden beauty & confidence, and opens his eyes to the incredible woman he's worked with for a year - you know these sparks are gonna catch fire!

I loved their dynamic - Lexi and Marcus don't fall into the 'traditional' fake relationship traps: they realize that weekend that they have something real, they don't hide their real relationship from those around them, they communicate and open up to each other, and while they have clear physical chemistry they both treat their relationship with maturity to get to know each other better and support one anothers' goals. I almost expected there to be no 'third act breakup' and just sail away blissfully through this beautiful HEA. HOWEVER, this is probably one of the best/most realistic third act breakups/resolutions I've read. It was so true to both characters' expected behaviors and I literally cried as I read it (saw it coming, knew it was gonna happen, hoped it would resolve the way I wanted!)

I am really enjoying seeing Nicole Baker develop her narrator's voice, her style, and her storytelling skills. This book, I think, seems to show that she's settling in and getting comfortable with the worlds she's creating and clear in how to share that with all of us. I am on pins & needles waiting for Mia's story now!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I'm honored to be part of the ARC team for this fantastic book!

Here are some reasons why I like it:

💋 Good pacing.

💋 Marcus and Lexi encouraged and inspired each other to be better versions of themselves.

💋 You'd want to be a part of the Gianelli family or be friends with them. And attend their Sunday family dinner for the food and the laughter.

💋 I'm a sucker for HEA. But I like it more when it makes me think about how they will work things out to get there. Guessing keeps me on my toes.

Will I recommend this book? 100% if you like the tropes:

💄 Fake dating
💄 Workplace romance
💄 Reformed playboy
💄 Fun family dynamics
💄 Dual POV

Favorite Scenes:

🍷 The Post-Charity Gala 😉
🍷 Marcus' library (every booklover's dream)

It almost felt like Lexi and Marcus was too good to be true. The entire book I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak, but it never did - not really. The chemistry is there from the beginning. As much as I despised Marcus for making a big deal about Lexi's lackluster looks, I do appreciate that he had some guilt and remorse after the fact and that he acknowledged it with her. Lexi's interactions with Marcus' siblings was also fun to read - the banter and teasing was amazing. My heart went out to Marcus when his siblings immediately thought the worst of him. His blow up on them was absolutely spot on! I loved the little POV we got of Gabe feeling so guilty, it was nice.

The third act break up, while short, for once made total sense. I get why they broke up - Lexi had completely valid reasons which Marcus understood. She had to prioritize her sick mother, he'd never keep her from that or ask her to choose. There was no misunderstanding, no lack of love - it was just two mature adults who had a conversation and came to a mature decision about their futures despite how much they were hurting. They still verbalized how much they loved each other.

Loved the way it ended. Also, the spice was so good! Lexi...girl!! Get i!! LOL

Marcus is forced to ask his colleague Lexi to pretend to be his girlfriend in order to calm a client who has got the wrong idea about him. However, after giving her a makeover, he realises that maybe he likes Lexi for who she is all along.
I really liked this novel from Nicole Baker. It was a sweet romance, which alternates between Marcus and Lexi's perspectives, and it has a happy every after which of course I love. I found Where We Fall a nice easy read, with characters that I actually rooted for and a plotline which doesn't rely on a stupid miscommunication for it's main conflict. It was so nice to read a story where the main couple actually talked to each other and shared things about their lives, rather than claiming to fall in love without actually knowing each other. The family relationships between Marcus and his brothers and sister were also written believably which added a good additional dimension to the plot of the story. Some parts of the plot might seem a bit inevitable if you've ever read a romance novel before, but this Baker has done a great job of writing a book where you don't really care - it's just lovely and romantic.
A sweet romance, with some lovely characters you can actually root for. 3.5 stars.

I wasn’t expecting to like this one because I don’t like when the heroine “has” to get a makeover to pull the hero, but this one has some deeper elements.

Lexi flies under the radar. Her mother being angry for her husband leaving her for someone younger and now dealing with early onset dementia.

When Marcus is about to lose a big client for his families business his sibling gets him to agree to a fake relationship to try and save the client.

Lexi as their IT director is the perfect person. While their closeness allowed them to see each other with the things they don’t share with others.

I loved Marcus the most. The youngest who hasn’t been able to shed his role of the teenage mess up. I loved all the moments that Lexi was able to read him and also stick up for him.

This one got me in the heart. It ached for Marcus, I cheered for Lexi coming into her own.

A five star read!

I received an arc for review, all opinions are my own and given freely.

When fake dating leads to an office romance.

I've always likes Marcus. He's the younger brother, the one who will do and say anything to get a rise out of his older brothers. Especially when women are involved. It was nice to see Gabe and Luke get to return the favor.

Lexi is your typical IT director. Works all the time and never has time to date. Wears clothes that make her invisible to everyone around her and how they pulled her into a situation that makes her uncomfortable but she goes with it because they're her bosses.

The thing that surprised me was how much this book reminded me of those 90s teen romance movies. How Marcus didn't notice Lexi until she stopped wearing plain, baggy clothes and lost the glasses. They worked together for over a year and it took a makeover for him to see how beautiful she was.

Overall, it was a good read.

I got an arc for the honest review.... I love the book after a very long time I have had read a book that to contemporary romance... for recent most book for the contemporary romance it was getting very repetitive. But this book did not disappoint me. Coming to the story I like the story the MMC and FMC were very real in the story dealing with real complicated situations in the book which we everyday reader could relate to also it was kind of office romance fake dating between a boss and IT director. Also I love the sibling bond within the book and family vibe very together very cool open great. one more thing like there were no very sudden breakup without meaningful reason I like that a lot.
all in all love the book refreshing it was new, also there were emotions very mmc was feeling emotional he was showing it same goes to FMC too. great book

ARC Review!
5 Stars,
Spicy peppers times 10 or more ;)
Keyword: Library!

This book had everything I loved in it! Fake Dating, Office Romance, Angst in some places.. I am so happy that Marcus got his happy ending! Ex playboy, finally got his girl that he can't live without. I also loved how he didn't let his brothers run him over so much at the end. Lexi (even though I loved all the wives so far) I want to say she was my favorite because I resonate so well with her. I am kinda on the shy side, and don't ever really dress up. I loved how Lexi shocked Marcus those times where he saw her all dolled up and showing what she had on under the plain Jane clothes. When Marcus found out that his "makeover" on her was a trigger on her mom's mind, it tore him up. All I wanted to do was to comfort him. His story was a great one and one I won't ever forget, especially how they came back together at the end. I had legit tears in my eyes. I can't wait to read the next one!

This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

Marcus has a one night stand on a business trip and in order to keep his family businesses largest customer (who happened to be connected to the one stand girl) his brothers tell him he needs to bring a girlfriend to their next work event. The only person they all trust to do this is their IT director, Lexi. Lexi and Marcus never had much interaction outside of work but they start to spend time together getting ready to fool everyone at the event and they start to realize how much fun they’re having and form a friendship. One night Lexi decides to see if what she’s feeling is mutual and leaves Marcus wanting more.

Overall this book was my favorite of the three in the series, I’m not sure if the sister, Mia, will get her own book too but we’ll see!

Note this book has mentions of a parent with dementia, which can be triggering. This is brought up numerous times through the book.

This is book three in the Giannelli family series that follows Marcus and Lexi. This family is so incredibly supportive.

Their relationship starts out as business but quickly grows into something more. Their chemistry was so fun to read about and the growth they both went through throughout was heartwarming.

Marcus was definitely just trying to do the best he could navigating this new chapter of his life. I liked how he proved himself after his past and his dedication to his family.

I loved Lexi so much, it was wonderful to see the support system she had that was obviously just waiting for her to be ready to branch out of her comfort zone. Her character and confidence growth was one of my favorite parts.

Overall a great addition to the series!

At first I want to thank you dear Nicole to be able to read an arc of this book.

I totally fell in love with Lexi's and Marcus' story. How their relationship starts with fake dating and develops into something wonderful. I love both of their characters and the family dynamics of the Giannellis. Swooning!

We also learn about the dementia of Lexi's mum and how she and everybody involved deal with it.

This was my first book by the author and the Giannellis and now I can't wait to read about the rest of them. I don't wanna leave this world.

For everybody who loves fake dating, great family dynamics, quite some spice, banter, very emotional characters and great friends.

One more thing; can we please talk about Marcus' library??? Omggg

Another great book in the series! I have really enjoyed all the books so far and this one definitely did not disappoint. Marcus and Lexi are so cute, their relationship starts as a fake date and just continues to grow. The fact that they worked together for a year without noticing their feelings for each other makes it even better. Marcus is the play-boy brother and gets himself in hot water with a client, in order to keep the client he needs to prove that he is not a play-boy. Lexi is the IT Director that likes to fly under the radar, and not Marcus' usual type, they end up hitting it off and fall for each other hard.

Hear me out, I enjoyed the characters. But I was screaming the entire end of the book why they just didn't move her mother to Cincinnati. The entire fall apart of their relationship was absolutely unnecessary....

To top it off, I'm beginning to wonder if this author even likes women. The fact that this family has a sister, but she didn't get a book. The fact that she has her MF characters slut shame in book 2 and the whole " the man didn't notice her until she wore tighter clothes and put on some makeup" just gave me the ick. I finished the series, but I don't think I'll be reading anything else from this author.

Lexi has worked for the company for a year and when Marcus’s personal life threatens to lose them one of their biggest customers, she agrees to fake date him.

A few issues with this one. Firstly he wasn’t as much of a manwhore as painted in the previous book or this one. She made a valid point that the woman in question was more than willing to jump into bed with him. Secondly, I wasn’t a fan of the makeover part. Finally why not just move the mother? I hated that he had to leave his whole family even if it was so that his siblings would see him as an equal.

Lexi and Alexis… interesting name choices!

I liked how she see him and gave him encouragement, this was a nice change

I had the pleasure of arc reading all the book in the Giannelli Series and Marcus and Lexi’s story did not disappoint! I loved everything from the banter to their love for each other. You get to see Lexi come into her own and become more confident even with the emotional trauma she experienced. One of my favorite things is the Sunday night dinners with the whole Giannelli family. The spicy is perfection and the library scene…iykyk 🔥 I definitely would recommend this book and the whole series if you love family owned business, fake dating, all the wine, billionaire romance, and single dad…those are just a few of the amazing tropes in the The Giannelli Series.

I have read all of Nicole Baker’s books and I have to say this is probably my favorite. I didn’t expect to love Marcus as much as I did but there was something about him that I just couldn’t get enough of. He was so supportive of Lexi and had such a big heart. I really need more of him! I really liked Lexi too. She pushed him to be more assertive in his business which is something he truly needed. Be prepared that this book will pull on your heartstrings and may make you a bit teary at a certain point but I would definitely recommend diving in and reading it. I can’t wait to read their bonus scene and definitely want more of them!

I absolutely loved this one! I loved all of the three in this series but Marcus was my favorite. I so needed the conversation at the storage unit toward the end of the book after the tears shed before this point. Squirt conversation was laugh out loud funny! Thank you! The love story of Marcus and Lexi was so good. And the relationship of the brothers and Mia - so heart warming. This series is a must read!!

🙄🙄

The book started out promising. Then he goes downhill from there in MY opinion. Yet another fake dating trope. I can't begin to tell you how many I've read. Fake date/marry to get trust fund, to acquire a client, to make a ex jealous, to get custody of a child, etc. The plots in these books maybe a little different. However they always end the same with the fakers falling in love with each other. The End!

Man I'm a sucker for a fake dating and this one takes the cake.
I absolutely loved Marcus and Lexi. Their chemistry was off the charts. Both of them were broken in their own way and I loved how the other was able to pick up the pieces. But man did this third act breakup hit SO different for these character's. But the ending definitely made up for it and made me love Marcus even more!
