I’m shocked this is Vera’s first dark romance novel because it was great!
What happens when Soren has to trade one prison for another?
When Soren’s father passed, she was left in the hands of her stepmother who sold her to the highest bidder. One evening, she’s stolen from her abusive husband’s bed and taken to her captives home. Except, she’s much happier in this home than her own.
I loved how sweet Kade was and that he taught her self defense!
I would have loved this to have a little more lead up to the spice and love declaration. Overall this was such a fun and quick mafia romance!

Beta read this book and OMG SO GOOD! Listen if you have never read mafia romance before this is the place to start. It has everything you could possibly want.

Seriously though I cannot say enough good things about this story, I consumed it so fast. My only complaint is I want moreeeee!!!
The spice is top tier, the story will keep you hooked, and you’ll find yourself completely invested in these characters.

I LOVE A MAFIA ROMANCE.
And there is nothing better than a man who would BURN the world for you, and that’s 100% what our main man Kade would do.
I loved the twist on Tangled, it gave me a loving FMC who had a fierce side due to her circumstances and an MMC who steals her for his own profit but ends up falling head over heels for her.
It’s a quick read; but it gives you the perfect blend of spice and plot and keeps you enthralled the entire way through.
A big, giant slay.

I absolutely DEVOURED this book!! It was a beautiful story, with a mixture of mafia, romance, and some really REALLY good spice.
The character growth by the MMC was so wonderful & the MFC was so badass and everything I hope to be. A fighter through and through.
I highly recommend getting this book when it’s released on May 17th

This book was so well written! Absolutely hands down the best mafia book I have ever read. This book gave me everything I needed and more. This book was hard to put down once I started. I cannot wait to read more from this author. Very talented!

It was good! There were a few things that bugged me while reading, one thing is there was a lot of laughing, in the sense of “she laughed”, “he laughed”, “I laughed”. Which is fine, but it was weird in some instances.
But the bones of the book was good! I enjoyed Kade and Soren, there wasn’t a lot of miscommunication, which is a trope I don’t enjoy. There wasn’t a big plot twist. It was a very good loose retelling of Tangled (which is my favorite movie).
And I’m so thankful to the author for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader! I hope with her next books she gives me the same opportunity!

I am truly shocked this is the Debut novel for Vera’s first dark romance book. I was hooked from the first page.
This is definitely a good place to start if you haven’t read dark romance or a mafia romance. It’s not TOO dark so it’s the perfect “beginner” book if you want to dabble into dark romance.
The only reason I’m not rating this book a five is because I would’ve loved to have more in-depth “mafia” related things. The stuff we had was okay but I would’ve liked a little more detail. Otherwise this book was fantastic.
The spice is realistic and written great. I feel like sometimes with dark romance the spice is SO wild that you can’t find yourself relating but with this it’s relatable.
MAKE SURE TO READ TRIGGER WARNINGS:
I like how this book touched on a lot of real life issues like domestic violence in relationships. The way Kade protected Soren even when he was not supposed to was amazing. I loved the connection they had.
I wish there was more to read!

I am terrible at review but this book stole a piece of my heart. I fell in love with Soren so quickly, she was just a lovable character and I’m so happy for her! Kade was her dark knight in shining armor, whether he feels this way or not he is such a kind soul!! This book is definitely in a top 10 for me so far this year and so happy I was given an opportunity to ARC. If you felt like you need a mafia rendition of Tangled in your life then this might be the book for you!!

This was probably more of a 3.5 simply because I liked the characters.
The writing style took a chapter or two for me to get into but then I realized it was actually very good writing. There were some typos and some inconsistencies and some things contradicted themselves but still good writing.
Kade kidnapped Soren from her abusive husband for some leverage on some land that his family wanted. Usually when one kidnaps the FMC, he’s kind of an asshole and cruel but I appreciated that Kade was actually pretty nice to her.
The beginning of the book was a little boring though. All they did for like the first half was stay in the house and not much happened and then it seemed like all the drama was thrown in toward the end.
There was some pushing away from the MMC which didn’t make sense to me because he was all “you’re mine” “tell me you belong to me” “I’m obsessed with her” so that’s where I felt the contradictions came. He kept saying she was his and then pushed her away after every time they slept together. I also didn’t like that when he did push her away one of the times she threw herself at him.
Another thing that bugged me? They’re mafia right and their last name is Luchetti, both parents have Italian names. Never in my years of reading Italian mafia books have I seen the son’s name so non Italian. Kade, Maverick, Sawyer and Finn (which I see in Irish mafia books). Idk why that bugged me but it did.
I didn’t hate the book even though I skimmed a lot of the last 20%. There was a lot of potential especially with it being a debut book. In all honesty I would read the next one.

Soren is the daughter of a Mafia Boss who has known a lot of loss in her life. First her mother, then her father, and her own freedom when her stepmother sells her to the highest bidder to combine with another mafia family. Her life is literal hell with a monster of a husband, when one knight a dark, black knight in the form of Mafia son, Kade Luchetti, literally steals her in the middle of the night, starting the Mafia war to end all wars.
This book had so much promise. I really enjoyed the set up of the multiple families wheeling and dealing, in all the ways I love in my mafia romances. My problem with it started about half way through. The build up was decent, albeit a bit quick, but then suddenly it became even faster. Days and weeks are fast forwarded, but along with that is the emotions and the development as well. So, one moment, Soren is upset and distraught, the next it's two days later and she's fine. There are also plot holes that may seem minor, but so many of them started to make things confusing. In the beginning, Sawyer is the youngest brother, but then Kade is calling him "big brother" at the end. Finn is terrifying and just like his father, but then suddenly he's "too emotional to be a Mafia boss." Also, the climactic fight scene was blown over very quickly within about 2 pages. The second half of the book is incredibly rushed and just feels thrown together. All in all, quite disappointing.

Entangled is a very loose retelling of Rapunzel, with the main similarity being that the FMC is trapped for most of the book.
Overall a fast and easy-to-read mafia romance. I enjoyed the beginning of the book but felt like the ending was a bit rushed.
The book was quite short, only a bit over 200 pages, with a lot happening. Personally, I think the book would have worked better if it were a bit longer because then there would have been time to explain and explore things more thoroughly, and the plot wouldn’t have felt quite as rushed.
I liked how the FMC was able to gain more confidence throughout the book. I would have liked to see a bit more buildup for the relationship between the FMC and MMC. Additionally, I would have liked to see a bit more world-building.

Kade and Soren - where do I even begin?! 🥰🥵🫠
Soren - A mafia princess who was sold off by her wicked stepmother to an awful mafia heir after her father passed away. Her life was absolute misery living with an abusive, cruel man. Until she was kidnapped by a rival mafia to be used as a bargaining chip.
Kade - Tough on the outside, yearning for more on the inside, mafia heir. Put in a position to kidnap Soren to negotiate with her stepmother and husband over some land, find himself enraptured by his prisoner.
They toe around each other, falling slowly over stolen glances and interactions. Knowing it’s wrong and forbidden, they can’t help falling in love and into bed 🥵🥰
This is true love if I’ve ever read it & I cannot wait to read about the rest of the brothers!!

I devoured this book! I couldn’t put it down. The tangled vibes in this were just amazing! I kept hearing flyn riders voice every time Kade spoke and I just was here for it all. Soren is so strong and just everything you wanted in a female lead in a mafia romance story.

When I tell you I was not expecting this book, I'm not lying. I adore supporting new authors and their debut novels, but I do keep reservations. RESERVATIONS WERE NOT NEEDED HERE!!! I could not put this book down.
Entangled is incredible. I was given the information of a mafia romance loosely modeled from Disney's Tangled...and was given so much more. Kane, Soren, Jude (unfortunately)....all written to perfection. Some of these scenes (you know which ones) had me kicking my feet and giggling.
I just have one question...where can I find my own Kade?

This was such a good debut. I’m always a sucker for retellings or reimaginings so when Vera slipped into my DMs and asked if I was interested in reading her debut which has some dark twists on Tangled I quickly said “heck yes”. I had a great time with Soren & Kade. For a mafia romance, this was actually kind of sweet and on the softer side which is perfect for those wanting to dip into darker romances for the first time. I am so excited to see where Vera takes us next and I can’t wait to see her journey as an author.
Soren is stuck in an abusive marriage she was sold into by her wicked stepmother. She has become a shell of the person she once was but with her stepmother controlling her finances and her piece of shit husband controlling her every other move, Soren has no options. That is until she is kidnapped by a rival gang. And while she’s gone from one prison to another, she soon finds out that her kidnapper treats her with more kindness than she’s experienced in years.
Kade is a good son. He does whatever his father wants of him but he secretly is tired of living the mafia life. He wants to escape it and after falling for the woman he’s kidnapped, he wants to escape it with her by his side.
But leaving isn’t so simple, and blood will run…

Soren was such a strong character the growth that she had throughout the book was amazing. I liked how we got to go step by step with her as she gained her confidence and power.
I am obsessed with Kade. I like how when he has his mind set it’s set there’s no going back.
Kade and Soren definitely had me on the edge of my seat through the book.

I would say a level 3 out of 5 probably on the spice but great plot. Loved the overprotective aspect of kade without it being an overbearing amount. Also loved the fact that she was a bit weak and frail but she didn't make her whole personality based on her being on the weak side like most romance books. Soren kept on pushing through for Kade. Great plot and a wonderful ending, 4.5 stars! 10/10 would recommend!

Soren used to tell me I had rescued her, but in truth, she’s the one who rescued me.
I’m so glad this was my first mafia romance. I loved everything about this - it was captivating, i loved the romance, the spice 🧟♀️ and the darkness we all know and love in dark romance novels.

Overall, the book is Fine. It very much reminded me of One Direction fan fiction I would read when I was in high school. This is a very loose retelling of Rapunzel, and by very loose is that the only thing that it has in common is that the girl is trapped for most of the book. I do wish that the Mafia part of the book was expanded more on. A lot of the fighting scenes felt lack luster and left me wanting more. Same with the relationship between the two main characters. If this book just had a little more meat to it then it would have been wonderful. I do see potential in Vera Kane and look forward to the other books in the series.

LORD!!! The excitement I had when I started this book and throughout reading it!! The whole vibe of it is amazing, there’s one specific part in the book that I adore; Vera did a reference to a movie that is my all time favorite and I love her for it and it warmed my heart so much. But the chemistry this book has 🥵 had me giggling and blushing!

This was a dark mafia romance under 280 pages. It was a fast read. It was just okay.
I’m not a fan of insta love and it felt like insta love to me with little to no build up in the relationship between the MMC and FMC. It was way too much spice for my liking, especially since the relationship happened so quickly.
I rate it 2 ⭐️ , it just wasn’t for me, but might be for others.

The story was amazing! Kade and Soren are so cute!
I wish there had been more to the story. I felt like some of it went on longer in parts than it should, and some things happened too fast!
With that being said, I loved it and will definitely be reading the following books in this series.

I am so impressed that this is Vera Kane's first book, because DAMN I LOVED IT!!
Tangled is my favourite fairytale, so I was scared going into it, but I loved that it stayed true to Tangled but with so much more spice and a mafia twist.
I loved the spice in this book, it was so well written and the MMC is just to die for.
If you need a short and spicy mafia romance, this is definitely it!!

The first half of this book was hard..some parts had me genuinely confused and I feel like Soren and Kade’s relationship development was very very lacking. Overall, it was a decently good read though!

I ARC read this but am only getting around to the review now as life has been throwing me curve ball after curve ball!
I really enjoyed it. I love Kade and his demeanor and I look forward to reading more from Vera! I’m surprised this is her first dark romance and it felt very well thought out!
