Just a few months ago, Hadley Weston was a PR consultant looking to reunite with her estranged lover, Fitz MacGregor. Now, Hadley has become a powerful witch and is leading a crusade to stop Dr. Lorenzo Belmonte from taking over human and witchkind. And they’ll have to step into the alternate universe of Opimae to do it.

When the Crusaders get to Opimae, they’re met with a magical world where witches roam free, faeries linger in the woods, and dragons soar the night sky. But things in Opimae are not as they seem. Between mistrusting witchkind governments, kidnapping attempts, and a possible spy in their ranks, Hadley and Fitz must find a way to win over Opimae’s rulers, keep their team on track, and stop Lorenzo before he takes over completely.

In this breathtaking sequel to Summoned , M.B. Thurman leads her readers into an enticing new world full of magic, love, and secrets. For fans of the All Souls trilogy and The Magicians.

Just when I thought the world of Summoned couldn’t get any better, MB pulls Crossed out. Opimae is such an incredible world with a lovely mix of tradition and modern. The new characters were so fun to get to know, and my love for existing characters grew even more. There was so much action that kept things exciting, but enough downtime that I felt like I was resting with the characters. I’m so excited to see what MB comes up with next. If you love witches, elemental magic, and a beautiful world with great world building, The Summoned Series and Crossed are for you!

Somehow MB managed to make a sequel even better than the debut. This book was so fantastical yet grounded in reality. The perfect mix of vibes and plot. I cannot wait to see what Hadley and Fitz do next.

This series is amazing and I cannot say it enough. Book two was packed with action, romance, heartbreak and more twists and turns than I can count. So excited from beginning to end. I highly, highly recommend this book and series! MB Thurman is the writer that got me back into reading and I will always love her for it!

The charm of the first book having been set in real (and often-times, familiar) locations could only be topped by the wonder of meeting a whole new world.

I was immediately intrigued by Opimae and am anxious to get to explore more of it through Hadley’s eyes as The Summoned Series continues! (Hopefully sooner rather than later? 👀) I loved that Opimae felt familiar to our own world in some ways, different in many others, and existed with traditions and technology that blended any human timeline imaginable. It felt in moments both close to home and excitingly distant.

I WANT MORE OF THE SIDE CHARACTERS! I love Fitz and Hadley but we’ve had such a fascinating cast of characters introduced and I hope we get more time to be acquainted with them—though I can appreciate how difficult that is when there are so many unique folks introduced.

Ian’s death was something I had predicted when it was decided he would go with the crusade but it still had me teary eyed. And like many fantasy books, I wish Hadley, Fitz, and the MacGregors had the time to mourn and process. I think it’s going to make the next book an emotional roller coaster as Fitz and Hadley embark on the next part of their journey in the wake of this loss.

There is something so magic here and I cannot wait to see where M.B. takes the crusaders next. ✨

AHHHHH AMAZING

What an incredible ride!! MB really ate with this one. Summoned was phenomenal, but Crossed really proves that MB has the power in her words to not only captivate a reader, but to bring them into the world she’s created and make them feel a part of the story themselves. She is also evil for not having the third book out for me to read right now!! LOL please read this book

Crossed is a thrilling follow up to MB Thurman's debut novel Summoned and is, for my money, the stronger of the duo. Don't misunderstand me - Summoned is a gripping romance shot through with mystery and magic, and it does an excellent job of immersing the reader in the world MB has built which is so unlike any other magical realm I've ever read before. But Crossed is a triumph, not only for the characters we've met in Summoned, but for MB the author. It's so clear that she continues to grow as a writer, and her voice is so confident in Crossed it's hard not to cheer for her journey even as we're cheering on characters like Hadley and Fitz.

I sat on the edge of my seat waiting for Crossed's released and I can confidently say that it was worth the wait. The feeling of Summoned remained as you set off into a new world and were introduced to an entirely un-earth-like universe. The newfound fantasy elements mixed with the governmental conflict had me feeling like I was reading the Hunger Games in a universe similar to that of ACOTAR. I laughed, I cried, I got angry, and I'm left wanting more. Let's go Summoned Series Book Three!!!

Going to mark that I read this one twice to track my read of Summoned!

Summoned took me right back to my happy place within the Olympic Peninsula with a whole new story that drew me in with exquisite writing and mystical story telling. While I feel Summoned is a whole lot of setup for Crossed, I still enjoyed getting to know all of the characters and, of course, being immersed in Fitz and Hadley’s love story. This has been the perfect book to read in October for cozy witchy vibes! Can’t wait to see what happens in Crossed! 🔥🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨🌲

She did it again! Crossed takes you on the adventure you've been waiting for since that cliffhanger in Summoned. And it does NOT disappoint. This is the action I've been waiting for. Fighting against all odds to save herself, her love, her people and her world, Hadley thrusts herself into learning her gifts and becoming the leader they all need! I couldn't put this book down!

P.S. I read this while staying at the Cedar Creek Inn, it was magical as always!!

I really enjoyed this book! There’s much more excitement and magic throughout this book which I really loved. I feel like the main characters really had a lot of character development in this book as well which made me become more attached to some of the characters we hadn’t known much about before. Can’t wait to see what happens in the 3rd book!
