The Baptist Distinctives and Why They Matter

After salvation, one of the most important decisions a person can make is what church he will attend. The church is where he will learn about God and His Word and will grow as a Christian. The fact that churches believe and teach different things should be evident from their very names. They all should be dedicated to exalting the Lord Jesus Christ; but how they go about that mission, and what they view as essential to that mission, is very different. The Baptist Distinctives and Why They Matter is not intended to be a long treatise on any of the subjects that make up its chapters. Instead, it is a primer into why I am a Baptist, and why I believe everyone should be a Baptist, too. More importantly, I hope also to show that Baptist teaching follows the clear principles found in God’s Word.

This short book does exactly what it was intended to do. It spells out the Baptist Distinctives clearly and concisely. The author is a friend and he did a fine job teaching his way through the book. If you were teaching a class to new converts, new or potential members, or young students this is your book. It is inexpensive so you could pick it up for the whole class. It was written to be understood.

The Baptist Distinctives and Why They Matter was easy to understand, biblically based, and concise. You can tell Mr. Frederick has a deep love of the Lord, the church, and the Word of God.

Mr. Frederick not only explains the distinctives simply, he does so without infusing much of his own personal commentary into it. He points each distinctive back to the Word of God. In appropriate places he references historical and/or personal examples.

It'd be easy to see this 59 page book as a companion to a new members Sunday School class or given to new converts. It could be read in one sitting!

A clear, concise, and biblically accurate primer explaining Baptist distinctives and their importance.

Whether alone, as a group, or even in a classroom setting, new and seasoned believers alike will find great benefit in this book as they seek to further their understanding of Baptist doctrine and how it follows the clear principles outlined in Scripture.

Paul Frederick, you have created here exactly what I wanted - a short, well-written, doctrinally accurate, easy to understand explanation of the Baptist distinctives. My compliments. I expect I will purchase/pass out many over the years. It will be a perfect accompaniment to our membership class.

A substantial, but concise overview of Baptist Distinctives

A great, easy-to-read primer on the Baptist distinctives. I would have liked to see more Scripture included to back up the teaching, but that would be the only negative critique. Helpful and useful.
