Cross & Flag: Revelations: A Novel of Alternate History

Rate this book
2018. For the past six years, the theocratic New American Path regime under President Joshua Randall has controlled the United States, having risen to power following a more destructive 9/11, further terrorist attacks, and a four-year Second Civil War. Opposition to Randall’s dictatorial rule is growing by the day, with the Real Patriot Army resistance and other underground networks preparing for a new phase of open revolt that may finally break his grip on the country—albeit at great cost.

Amelia Weir knows this cost all too well. Having lost her family and hometown of New Antioch, Iowa to the NAP’s repression, she has become a full-fledged member of the RPA, aiding her enigmatic mentor Richard Henley on covert operations meant to fully expose Randall’s atrocities and help build up support for renewed rebellion. This has brought her fully into the regime’s crosshairs, in the form of covert operative Thomas Carter, who is ordered to unearth and capture the two of them by any means—a pursuit which has slowly begun to erode his devotion to the regime. At the same time, Amelia has begun to keep her distance from Henley, having encountered disturbing hints of his prewar past which may prove more dangerous than Carter or any other threat.

At last, Henley persuades her to join him on another mission, one that has the potential to link the RPA with powerful new allies and bring down Randall in one fell swoop. But there are more agendas at work than either of them knows—and further revelations from Henley’s past may forever destroy their partnership, along with the chance for America’s liberation from the NAP’s tyranny…
