Many inconsistencies made this book tedious to go through. Just in the first chapter, I found myself getting frustrated over simple things: Why not check the background of your employer when you just prided yourself not to be dumb enough not to do it? How come an undefined remote location gets to be the first one she picks, without any inclings as what to look for. There is 360 degrees of remote location around a city, if you go far enough... Why call into a house that you just lockpicked? Oh, and so many more questions, just in the first chapter... Then chapter 2 suddently appears when the scene is not finished. The first chapter was not even that long, so there is absolutely no need to start a new chapter, specially at such a moment.
I tried to get over my frustrations and continue the read, but I did not manage to finish the book.

Artemis and Declan make a fun team with their banter and bickering as tenuous allies forced to work together on a mysterious hunt they were led too, but they unearth a horrific conspiracy of the Chimera project. With noone to trust they must work together to hunt creatures and find those in charge to stop hybrid creatures from wrecking havoc. This is an action packed paranormal urban fantasy with twists turns and betrayals. Looking forward to the next book.

Book one in this trilogy and boy is it good! An action packed paranormal urban fantasy that pulls you in as we meet Artemis and Declan. Forced to work together to take down unimaginable threats, they are two strong and kick ass characters whose bickering and banter will have you in stitches and then on the edge of your seat and their adventure takes on twists and turns in this supernatural read. I am so eager to read book two!

I enjoyed this novel - It’s a well written paranormal urban fantasy story with a side of romance and mystery. The main characters Artemis and Declan are both strong and interesting to meet and learn about and there’s a few twists and turns as the story develops.

This is the first novel in a trilogy.
