Oh endlich kommt Fahrt auf, diesmal war es auch deutlich besser durchdacht als der Band davor.
UND WER DENKT SICH ÜBRIGENS DIESE CLIFFHANGER AUS?! OMFG!
Aber ja, wir gehen ENDLICH zurück zu dem Thema Serienkiller usw., so finally ein wenig Mord und Totschlag. Es ziehen sich auch die Fäden zusammen, die in den vorherigen Teilen angedeutet wurden und ich bin so gespannt, ob es wirklich irgendwie ein gutes Ende nehmen wird. Ich glaube nicht. Und es würde gut passen.
Und was Lewellyn mit dem Fast-Vergewaltiger getan hat, oh my god. Das war so wunderbar böse, ich hab mich so schäbig gefreut.

It's honestly really weird how this relationship can be simultaneously wildly toxic and incredibly wholesome.
Shavonne is head over heels in love with Lewellyn, which should be leading to a happy ending...if you're the kind of person who has that option. Shavonne's parents abandoned him. The people at the orphanage failed him. None of his jobs have lasted. He's had a string of boyfriends who left him when their time ran out. (Unfortunately, he hadn't realized much of that was due to them being under contract to date him.)
So eventually Lewellyn will leave, too. Sure, he's obsessive now, but nothing lasts - not for Shavonne. That means the more he loves Lewellyn, the worse it will hurt when things end, so the only logical thing is to detach his feelings, bit by bit.
Lewellyn feels that distance growing and is hurt by it - and also reminded of the hot & cold Shavonne from the prison. But he listens to what Shavonne wants from him and does his best to obey him: no killing people, no staying up waiting for him, no pushing beyond what Shavonne is willing or able to give.
Until things get too worrying, and Lewellyn brings back Shavonne's latest romance interest in a bag - because while he respected Shavonne's dating life and never tried to interfere with his sexual activity, assault is out of bounds.
I truly love that Lewellyn didn't blame Shavonne for a minute of it. And Shavonne didn't blame himself, either! He's upset about everything that happened with Turner, and angry for not seeing the truth earlier, but he also tells himself that he knows it's not his fault. That's...so wildly refreshing? Especially in manhwa. It's not about how he got into this situation or whether he could've prevented things from going so far...because it's not the victim's responsibility to prevent someone from committing a crime.
Lewellyn's only complaint was that Shavonne didn't confide in him. He wants to be there to support him. They're partners, or at least that's his ultimate goal. And finally, finally Shavonne starts to open up and truly lean into their relationship.
Of course, things aren't that easy, and I have no idea how they're going to find a happy ending when the literal king of their country is after them. Plus the story still really needs to explain why Shavonne was working in the prison and how he lost his memory.
But now he at least knows that Fawkes was a lie, and he's determined to live a better life with Lewellyn, even if it means changing their names and moving to somewhere safer. (I wonder if that will eventually mean leaving the country.) Curious, too, if Shavonne's increasing headaches are a sign that maybe his memory might come back?

If this volume were based on a book Shavonne has read to Lewellyn, it is undoubtedly The Steadfast Tin Soldier. Because of course this will be the volume that, outside of the drama involving , this would also be the volume where Shavonne attempts to love Lewellyn even a little less than he does.
And I can’t even have the heart to say this is unhealthy when it is undoubtedly a little beautiful in my eyes, to have a love that hurts so deeply, especially when we know Shavonne has had 27 partners before, but not one of them hold a candle to Lewellyn. (And, well, we already know what lengths Lewellyn goes for him.)
And even with the clear , and the (typically overused and rightly hated) miscommunication (but it’s because )? More than wanting this to be healthier, I just ask the damn author to sTOP BREAKING MY HEART and give us the goddamn ending already 😭 I need to see them whole and hail and together and happy PLEASE.

No me gusta contar los manhwas como lecturas, pero voy a hacer una excepción con este porque es largo, porque es una de las historias más bonitas q he leído con unos plot twists que me han dejado loca y sobre todo porque he leído muy pocos libros este año y me quiero arrancar los ojos cada vez que veo el “11 books behind schedule” al abrir la app.
Volviendo al manhwa, de verdad que no sé cómo describir lo muchísimo que me ha gustado. Se nota que la historia está hecha con mucho amor, desde el arte, los personajes y sobre todo el plot. De verdad que junto a Lost in the Cloud es una de las mejores historias que he leído en manhwa. Se siente como un fever dream, es simplemente una locura lo bien hilada que está la historia y todos los plot twists. Casi me pongo a llorar en más de una escena súper cute en serio me ha hecho increíblemente feliz.
Ahora cada vez que vea una cebolla me acordaré de esta obra de arte.

I cannot with this volume, the abandonment issues? The miscommunication because their scared of losing each other? STOP. BREAKING. MY. HEART. I love them so much it’s physically and mentally unhealthy.
