He’s the type of man she should be running far away from. A man she has no business getting tangled with personally. And still she wants him and all the intoxicating ways of his wild world.
Giving away his heart was never part of the deal when it came to women. It was only supposed to be about pleasure. Nothing else and nothing more. But he’s in for a rude awakening when his world collides with a woman as bold, assertive and determined as he is.
Jaxson, The King Who Got Me is the third book in The Evans Family series, and the second story in The Evans Brothers Series.
Miss Jenesequa’s romance novels are known for their powerful and convincing storylines filled with love, drama, and passion. If you’re eager to explore unique and captivating stories, she’s the indie author for you.
This book became one of my most anticipated reads when I learned of Jaxon’s secret in book two and I’m literally sick to my stomach because this book didn’t do me right. I’m devastated! The highlight of the book for me will always be the Evans family dynamic. I love their bond and because of the new additions their dynamic is now amplified. They are closer and the shenanigans went up a notch. The youngest brother is a true clown and he lowkey provided the comedic relief I needed. If I’m being honest, that’s all that stood out for me. For this book to be 400 plus pages, so much felt missing. The main thing missing for me is the chemistry. It was practically non-existent for the couple on page and due to their lack of character development, it was hard for me to connect and actually believe in their partnership. Another thing lacking was necessary dialogue and fleshed out scenes. The author spent a lot of time telling us the story instead of taking us on the journey that would provide us with a first class BDSM experience. Why not give us more intense descriptive scenes? Why tell us about the toys he owns if you’re not gonna demonstrate? SHOW US how he gets down. For Jaxon to be so dedicated to the lifestyle the scenes came off as mundane and I had to force myself not to skim. So many pivotal moments being left off pages added to my disconnect with this story Overall, this book is a total miss for me. Nothing about Jaxson and Nakita excited me. Nothing about their journey captivated me. 400 pages should’ve given the author enough time to effectively complete this BSDM story but it pains me to say that the author fumbled and my heart is broken
I liked the whole BDSM theme of the book, hated how they got into the arrangement. And I expected more bravado from Jaxson but he fell short for me, I think at the back of my mind I compare the brothers to Genesis and expect them bring the same energy and I get disappointed each time. I loved the family dynamic, how well they all gel together hence I expected Jaxson to be more open with his brothers. I loved Nikita's family too, very entertaining.
OK, so this book is 90% BDSM. With saying this, the plot that was there wasn’t very intriguing. They basically had a secret relationship and then obviously they started catching feelings for each other. They hid their true feelings until they were caught by his family and then they broke up for one day and then got back together and then basically the book ended. No epilogue or anything 🙄
Living your life to provide happiness for self is the best part of living. Caring about what others think or opinions will leave you stagnant and stop your growth or dreams also we all need help it’s alright to ask or accept a genuine hand.
Jaxson Evans! Why did I take so long after Genesis to read this. I loved the authority, the dominance, the nastiness, the love it was what I wanted and expected from Miss Jenesequa. The spicy scenes were spicing and the build of the relationship 🤌🏾 chefs kiss!
Whew!!! This book was sexy, steamy and full of spice! In the previous books, Jaxson was pegged as being quiet, shy, and reserved, but in this book….the middle brother showed just how much he could code switch. By day, he was a successful real estate entrepreneur and by night, he was a captivating Dom.
Once Nikita and Jaxson discovered their common interest, their relationship went from 0-100 quickly! I enjoyed how Nikita was able to get the structured and rigid control freak to relinquish some of the control he had a stronghold on. This allowed him to focus on other important things like love and happiness.
This was a really good read but it was a bit wordy and repetitive. There was a lot of unnecessary filler that made the book longer than it needed to be.
This was an immersive reading experience for me and as always Winston James was top tier!!! His narrations as a dom will always be my favorite.
Jaxson is my fave of the brothers ! I don’t think he had the same level of BDE as Genesis tho. He was just bossy and controlling lol but he was soooo sweet to his lady
For this book to be 400 pages I got a whole lot of nothing but spice. Luckily that’s fitting for the mood I’m in right now. I wanted surface level palate cleanser and I got that.
I can objectively see how this book needed depth. They would say things like “we spent all night talking about our histories”…….hmmm tell me wtf was said then especially if you’re gonna be 400 pages long.
Also that one day break up got me irked. It was so silly
This book could have been half as long but for all the BDSM scenes. Every time I started to get into the plot, there was another one. I found myself saying, “dang, again?!!!” If you’re into kink, this is the book for you. I almost DNF.
Ah, this one was a little harder for me to review. While I didn’t dislike this read, I did find the story of Jaxson and his Kitty to be a bit drawn out. Considering how quickly these two met and settled on a relationship, the story just kept going and going. The brothers walking in on them was crazy! Overall, good and hot read!
So I knew Jaxson would be nasty and Nakita matched his nasty to a tee. my head just fell when Jackson said those words 🤦🏾♀️ I was like my dude you were doing so good. But I am really glad the author did not stall Nikita’s path back to Jaxson. Peaches got on my nerves I knew she would be a problem but Jaxson put her in her place. I don’t know why Mister and Kitty could think they could be friends with benefits because I seen they would be perfect and Genesis did too smart man 🤣. I am looking forward to Jaiden’s story because lil bro definitely needs to meet his match. I loved Nakita’s daddy that man once he got what he wanted was a highlight for sure 🤣. I am so loving this series, Miss Jenesequa never disappoints me!
While I did enjoy this, I feel like, the thing that would have given this that extra umph, would have been if she was the Dom. He didn’t convince me that he was a dominant as much as he was just a rich man that wanted to control and degrade a woman. The “softer” side to him was nice, but this wouldn’t have been the Evan’s Brother that I would have put my money on being into BDSM. It was cool tho
Jaxson was a good love story. I read the other comments, and they spoke about the BDSM not being enough. But here is my take. Miss Jennesequa writes beautifully. All of her stories are convincing, and I turn into the characters. As a new BDSM reader, this book is a perfect segway into BDSM reading. It piqued my interest, and now I want to find more romance fiction that sparks BDSM. I love the Evans Brothers series, and they all flow together. I love seeing the other characters in Jaxson! This love story is so perfect. The scenes had me texting someone and telling him I was reading our life story. LOL 😂 To me, that's some good writing! I felt like, at times, the words were meant directly to me in this current season of life! Some of the messages were exactly what I needed to hear. I also want to add with the new rise of work-life balance; I love that The Evans Brothers Group offered therapy to the staff. I loved how Jaxson also took very good care of all his employees throughout his company. He added a cafeteria and was on them about eating. I love the take that Miss Jennesequa took from that angle as well. We got to see Jaxson in his private life, love life, familial life, and professional! I really love the intentionality of this story!
Almost DNF, but unfortunately I’m a completionist. This book pissed me off so bad because it had so much potential and I was looking forward to reading it. It’s super predictable with way too much filler. When I say filler I mean repetitive thoughts, pointless descriptions, and forced dialogue. Cut out all the BS and it prob could’ve been a cute lil novella.
The characters came off as corny and that made it hard for me to care about them and their story. Literally checked out during the first half of the book and was counting down the pages during the other half.
The BDSM aspect was a big let down. Jax seemed like an amateur Dom because so many important Sub/Dom dynamics were off page. It’s like the author had a list of scenes but didn’t know how to flesh them out. When it comes to BDSM I like immersion so you can’t just half ass it. Idk, maybe I’m strict.
Very frustrating read. Do not recommend.
I said all of that and guess who’s going to read Jaiden….because…you know, completionism…gotta see it thru 🙄
P.S. Genesis/Jordana is still my fav and Genesis gave better dom energy than Jax.
As close as the siblings were, they really didn’t know Mister Jaxson LOL 😂 lifestyle! IMHO he would have taken that secret to the grave because he didn’t want to be judged and looked at differently SMH! In lament terms he basically ashamed by putting his business out there! Jaxson had to understand there’s nothing but love all around from his siblings! You know how the saying goes ~~~ is the quiet ones you got to side eye 😒. His motto is “I’m in Control”.
Jaiden is a comedian OMG 😆 he be having me in stitches!
Their father leaving their mom took its toll on their children, and they each handling it differently!
Take a ride with this couple to see who came out on top literally. Their chemistry was lit 🔥 and Nikita had me rolling because her mouth was slick ROTFL 😂! She matched his energy!
Grab your popcorn 🍿, skittles, and drink of choice to see who triumphed in the end! Will they tear up that contract and live their best lives, you gotta read and find out yourself (wink wink 😘).
Genesis thinks Jaxson works to hard and needs to higher a team starting with a marketing manager.
Inserts Nikita, she worked for Genesis, so he knows what a gem she would be for Jaxson’s company. But Jaxson doesn’t think he needs help so he was straight rude to Nikita at her interview. Leading her to call him out of his name and storming out.
Thinking they will never see each other again, they run into each other at the popular s*x house, finding out they have the same s*xual interest they agree to be dom and sub. Strictly s*x in exchange for the position at the company that she wanted.
Everything goes well, the company is booming, and their arrangement is spicy. Things are getting a little bit deeper as they actually start to date.
There was a slight snag when his family interrupted one of their sessions, but that was quickly resolved and they get engaged.

Now didn't expect the story to take that change but happy you did Miss. Jenesequa because I really ride want anyone to loose their life, lol. Now sub peaches thought she was about to shut things down but happy Nikkita didn't back down and Jason allowed her to stand her ground but then put Peaches in her place all while giving Kitty reassurance. I knew he wss falling more for her especially at a family dinner when Jayden spoke about trying to get with Kitty his dominate passive side started to come out. Absolutely loved the way Jaxson cratered to her making her feel like the queen she was in and out of bed great love story can't wait for Jayden story and how things turn out with their dad being on his death bed
I have mixed feelings about Jaxson’s story. I definitely liked it, but it didn’t sweep me off my feet. The BDSM theme was a big plus for me . That said, I wish the way they got into their arrangement had been handled differently; it felt a bit off.
I really enjoyed the contrast with Jaxson’s character. On the surface, he’s quiet, shy, and pretty reserved, but behind closed doors, he’s a whole different guy — in a good way! The book was definitely sexy, steamy, and packed with spice, which kept things interesting.
On the downside, it did get a little wordy and repetitive at times, which slowed things down. Still, all in all, it was a good read that I’d recommend if you’re into this kind of story.
Review: Jaxson, The King Who Got Me by Miss Jenesequa
Oh y’all have been hiding Jaxson Evans! Is he a long-lost cousin of the Danger brothers? Because it’s giving kinfolk. 😳🫢 This book was spicy and packed with heat. In the earlier books, Jaxson came across as quiet and reserved—on the surface, the polished real estate mogul, and by night…well, Mister.
The story kicks off with Nikita’s disastrous job interview at Jaxson’s company, but a second chance reveals their shared passions. From there, their chemistry moved at full throttle. I loved how Nikita pulled the uptight but driven brother out of his shell, giving him space to embrace love and happiness. Their dynamic was fun, bold, and full of exploration, and Jaxson’s spoiling of Nikita brought their love to life.
This one definitely rewired my brain chemistry and topped the previous Evans brothers’ stories. I’m sure reading the book is enjoyable, but the audiobook really elevates the experience.
Jaxson, the third oldest of his siblings, he’s a man that needs to maintain control—both in life and in the boardroom. A workaholic who’s slowly drowning in the pressure.
Nikita is smart, professional, and determined to carve out her space in the marketing world—not because she has to work, but because she loves what she does.
One interview gone completely left leads to an unexpected run-in at a private sex club… 👀
Kitty and Mister are GROWN GROWN! 🤭🥵😮💨
Spoiler: there’s BDSM… and some serious hunching.
I do wish there had been a little more story surrounding them—especially with the introduction of therapy. Still, I loved how perfectly they fit together, both understanding and matching each other in ways that felt authentic and genuine.
I swear Miss J you always know how to get our emotions going and you sure know how to tease a B**** lol. But as always you always do an amazing job with your storytelling and always know how to keep us intrigued for more even though you have stressed. Jax and Kitty were an absolute treasure to read about and I love how they’re story turned out. They were fit for each other and he definitely met a sub that can match his dominance while being submissive. Miss J this story was lovely and I can’t wait to see what’s next. Thank you for another wonderful read and continue to be blessed and great in life and May all positive things come to you.
Their first meeting was crazy but it's like the attraction was already there... it wouldn't have affected them if it wasn't. These two are definitely for each other even with Nikita's forwardness when they first met. I loved how everything went with them though. How they brought out the best in each other even when they were going at it. I just knew feelings would be different once the dating started hell even before that. Both had their issues with telling each other but glad they got it right. They were super cute for sure as well a driven couple. They make things happen!!!
This was a good book! I have read of the Evan’s siblings that have been written and this one was next on my list. I did go into this one blindly, and I was in for a surprise. This is a romance book but was BDSM. The last time I read anything similar was 50 shades of grey at least 10 years ago. I can tell you this book had it beat. It was a really good read though over all it took me a little longer to read it than the other books in this series simply because I was in for a surprise and had to gather myself a few times while reading it 😂
I am excited for Jaiden next because I love it when a guy thinks he will always be a player🫢
OOOO this is my favorite book BY FAR in this series. As I like to say, "Don't underestimate those librarian types." Jaxon was soooo stubborn and Nikita was very eager. A match that I felt like Genesis and Jordana were in on. One thing Jaxon taught me, make sure you always make your family knock and/or ring the doorbell to announce their arrival, whether or not they have a key lol. The attraction was definitely predictable and it was a bit annoying that Nikita couldn't see the signs that this man LOVED her and annoying that she wouldn't voice how she truly felt. However, communication is key in all relationships and situationships.
