Dakota--Hell with the Fire Burnt Out. While the land is vast in its beauty, the storied past is every bit of that hell burnt out. Follow along with Jacob and Reuben Killdeer, a father and son, who must pay a toll of flesh and bone to find something worth living for in spite of personal loss and needless bloodshed.
In the words of the Southern Belle of Horror, Christy Aldridge, "As you embark on this journey into the realms of terror forged by John Huber, allow his words to beckon you into the unknown. Embrace the shivers that trace your spine, the quickening of your pulse, and the lingering unease that may persist even after the final page is turned."
Love it! Started it yesterday and finished it today. To read of the horrors that happened back that reached me on so many levels. Seeing my ancestors in the Blackfoot Indian Tribe mentioned touched me. A character with the same last name of Wheeler I felt. My step mom's ancestor was killed in the Battle of New Ulm when he went to go save his horses at the livery. Touched closed to home. I'm with the Killdeer's in that we shouldn't be ending lives based on the color of skin. No more is correct Jacob Killdeer, no more I agree with. I can't wait for Book 2!
