Rate this book

Susan MacFarlane had only a few months with David Cameron, but in tht time he taught her the power of passionate love - its rewards and its punishments. Then she returned to her duty: marriage to a man who could run the family's paper mill, the mill she loved and understood but could not have for herself. Trapped in a loveless marriage with only her children to console her, her ambition and her ability thwarted by the conventions of her time, Susan seems destined to finish her life without ever knowing again the heady excitement of her brief time of freedom. Then David Cameoron comes back to Glasgow. Rich now, ready to avenge the slights of his youth. And the implacable enemy of Susan's family. . . The Bolton Evening News loved this book: 'A rich and rewarding tale.'

obviously this book wasnt very popular,no one has bothered to review it!im not sure why not though because ive just finished it and i actually thought it a very good example of its kind, which is basically a book about the upper classes and the scandals and trials they face! I was given a nora kay omnibus as a present, and the cover is very uninspiring, but im glad in a way that i stuck at it,because this, the last book of three was a very good read. it basically follows the story of susan, a woman before her time who in the late 1880's wants to be involved in the running of her fathers mill. in the end he gives in,and sends up a young accountant to teach her book-keeping,which is where the book takes off.if you're a fan of these historical, difference in class romance type books like i am then you'll enjoy it,but be warned,i figured out the big twist very early in!!
