Xander…

Alexander Copeland Keenan is a second-generation tattoo artist. He’s got a reputation as a rising star and a six-month waitlist to prove it. He’s been focused on work and family, not looking for anyone or anything serious, but suddenly there’s more.
Suddenly there’s everything when he meets Pippa Hall. Neither is ready for the bolt of instant attraction, or for the intensity of the days and weeks to follow as their chance meeting develops into an exclusive—and very intense—relationship.

Hamish…

To most of the world, Hamish Wilson is a talented, hard living, hard loving singer-songwriter. Most people don’t know the real person behind the mask. From their first meeting a year prior, Pippa saw right to the heart of him and hadn’t judged. Even better, she’d been his safe harbor, and a true friend.
He tells himself he’s not worthy of a committed romantic relationship with her, but fate—and Xander—intervened. Pippa wasn’t the only one either man had history with, and after an unplanned beginning, the three embark on an exclusive triad.

Pippa…

Pippa Hall grew up in a family whose idea of discipline sent her and two of her sisters fleeing to start a new life in Seattle. She’s got an excellent job as a mechanic at Twisted Steel, a custom car and motorcycle shop, a close relationship with her sisters and several dear friends, and then… She wasn’t prepared to fall head over heels with two very bossy men whose focus was her well-being and pleasure. Pippa is loved. Deeply.

Ignition…
In the midst of their happily ever after, the shadow of Pippa’s past casts a threat on the happiness and security of their lives.

It will take more than love to overcome the fear.
The three must stand, united to defend what is theirs.

Lauren Dane has been writing stories since she was able to use a pencil, and before that she used to tell them to people. Of course, she still talks nonstop, and through wonderful fate and good fortune, she’s now able to share what she writes with others. It’s a wonderful life!

The basics: Lauren is a mom, a partner, a best friend and a daughter. Living in the rainy but beautiful Pacific Northwest, she spends her late evenings writing like a fiend when she finally wrestles all of her kids to bed.

HOW DID I MESS THAT THIS WAS RELEASED??

If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times: I will read anything Lauren Dane writes. While that is 100% true, I'm so glad she keeps putting out amazing stories full of wonderful characters who are so good to each other. Sigh. Ignition is another 2nd generation story in the Brown universe. I love the glimpses of the first-generation characters, but I've fallen for the newer characters. I don't know a lot of authors who can pull off that kind of shift and do it so well, which is a testament to her skilled writing. I'm all 🥰

Confused..

I love Lauren Dane books. Any time a new one is released I hide away and read in one sitting. I couldn’t wait for Xander’s story. Unfortunately, I felt like I was dropped into an already in progress relationship. Did I miss something? Was there a book that outlined Xander and Hamish’s prior history with each other? Was there a book that involved Pippa and Hamish‘s prior relationship? I felt like I was missing so much of the relationship building to get them to the triad relationship. I really enjoyed everyone as individuals but was left scratching my head how all of the sudden Xander decides Hamish should join the existing relationship that he had with Pippa, 5 minutes after seeing him. Maybe I am just spoiled after the beautifully written book of how Erin, Todd, and Ben came together. I felt like I was on a journey with them. With Xander, Pippa and Hamish, it felt like reading the crib notes of their relationship.

Wow! Just wow!

It took me a little while to finish this book, partly I wanted to savor it and also life got in the way, but it was worth the wait and I'm grateful I took my time.

Lauren has weaved another tale full of love, intrigue, family, and togetherness. Pippa is new to the group and her back story in a cult was fascinating. How she and her sisters survived and thrived building a life for themselves on their own terms was inspiring and fit perfectly in our merry band of freaks we know and love.

I have to say, I didn't visualize Xander as such a badass. I thought Hamish would be the more dominate of the two in my head. That kept giving me pause as I read the story. Seeing Xander and Hamish together was interesting but for some reason, I didn't feel their connection as much as I felt the connection between them and Pippa. It didn't take away from the story or the flow of the relationship for me, I still appreciated the love between then all.

It was great to get little glimpses of the other connected families, the Warner's and Raven was delightful. Seeing Raven and where her life evolved was especially heartwarming. She's always been one of my favs. I can't wait to see more of the Brown/Copeland can emerge into adulthood.

Great story, good suspense, hot sex, and more concert scenes for our rock star fans, and I thoroughly enjoyed that spectacular takedown at the end and I hope to see more of the Twisted Steel group in the future.😀. Highly recommend this book.

Romance/erotica has a bunch of tropes that seem to be exploited to death. Lauren Dane always seems to get to go beyond the reiterative character of the genre creating human-like characters, full of personality.
I love that the characters, especially the women in this book and in all the books of this author are adults, that they own their sexuality, and that they have friends, responsibilities, jobs, and interests beyond the sexual/romantic.

When I read the genre usually think that in real life, I would not like to be friends with the protagonists, that we have nothing in common and that our differences would make us incompatible instead of complementary.
I believe that with these characters I wouldn't mind grabbing a coffee once in a while.

I enjoyed this book and I do enjoy the author, I recommend it.

She's a must click for me and Ignition proves to me she still is. I love when her series mesh together and these younger generations really give her the opportunity while adding in new characters like Pippa and Hamish. Xander is the younger generation of the Brown Family. It's funny how he followed into his uncle's business and his cousin, Miles, followed Xander's mom. Xander meets Pippa through family members and falls for her whole giving a tattoo. Pippa falls hard too, but she has a man she's close to also, Hamish. This book is a rollercoaster of love and childhood trauma. Most of all its about love between three people and also family and friends. I just loved it.

I normally love Lauren Dane's work. Laid Bare is one of my favorite books ever. So, I was really excited to read Xander and his relationships, but dang these characters were flat. The story felt like 90% family drama and there wasn't much substance to their relationship. They had a few dates and that was that. Even the sexy time stuff was flat. It's brought up multiple times that the FMC is into pain, but the most that they go into is a bite or holding her hips roughly...? And one of the MMC characters is in recovery and has pushed people away for his entire life, but magically after jumping into a relationship with these two people, he's all better? Very disappointing.

Never Fails!!

I always buy everything Lauren Dane writes, and she never fails to take me on a wonderful ride. For her books, I plan uninterrupted time to fall into her stories and let them take me along for a wonderful ride of superb story building, terrific characters ( that we keep visiting) with witty, clever conversations. I love that she understands that both strong men AND women characters are delicious and sarcasm is just the cherry on top.

This was an okay book for me. It did not have the same level of chemistry that Erin, Todd and Ben had in Laid Bare. The history between Xander and Hamish was only explained very briefly in the book. Pippa's and Hamish's back story was a bit more evident in the book. Although Xander's interactions with his parents and other family members was nice to see.

HELLO HOTNESS

OMG so good I stayed up all night reading. What a fantastic storyline and the OG characters woven in was better. The telling of how Xander, Pippa, & Hamish had history was seamless

catch up with Xander

Another great book involving the next generation of the Brown family. Well worth every minute spent reading it. Make sure to read Miles and Harlow’s story as well.

This is a first for me. There has never been a Lauren Dane book that I didn’t finish. But this one I just couldn’t get into. I’m not sure what it was. Maybe I will try again someday. But for now. I found the characters flat and dull. And just didn’t care what happened.

A very satisfying read.

At first I wasn’t sure I wanted to read about the next generation, have my favorite characters older and not the focus of the story. But I was wrong, it was so satisfying to read about what the children raised by love and openness became.

Needed some editing and spellchecking which was distracting me. The story felt very rushed in places, almost like I’d missed a chapter or several pages.

Hawt. Passion, feelings, heat, talented people passionate about their jobs and each other. Emotional scars, toxic family, found family, awesome family, blended family. Survival, hope.
