Hickory Hollow

Luck of the Draw

Tiger attack. Zombie apocalypse. Root canal with gum scraping.

As far as Sarah Winchester is concerned, all of those are better options than getting roped into the Hickory Hollow Ladies’ Society’s annual Love Drawing. No way she's participating in that hot mess. When the Society’s meddling president drops Sarah’s name into the drawing box anyway, Sarah can’t imagine anything worse. Until she “coincidentally” gets partnered with Rowan, who still carries a grudge from when she backed over his mailbox. It was an accident, okay??

Rowan Graham has lost everyone he’s ever cared about, except his great-aunt Millie. He’d do anything for her, even if it means gritting his teeth and suffering through her club's ridiculous Valentine's Day Ball and Love Drawing. Maybe it won't be so bad. Until he realizes the last woman standing is the one he least wants to be partnered with. Yeah, her. This isn't going to be bad, it's going to be awful. It was a Brand. New. Mailbox, okay??

Sarah and Rowan agree on one thing – those sweet little old ladies totally rigged the drawing. Even though the Ladies’ Society swears it was the luck of the draw.

Note: All novels in the Hickory Hollow series are completely stand-alone and can be read in any order.

If you’re looking for a unique romance with no spice, then it’s a fun Valentine’s read.

3.75 stars, 1 spice, mild spoilers. Rowan and Sarah are matched up at a Valentine’s event. They are tasked with 10 challenges over a week. They grow close, but timing is everything for this pair. I really liked the hint of enemies to lovers. They both have a lot of random baggage as well as quirky pets. I really liked the challenges. I also liked how Sarah always called out Rowan for his stuff. Rowan was not the most likable leading man at times. I also thought there needed to be more than a glance at Sarah’s ex husband. It was a bit repetitive when both pets had to go to the ER with almost identical infections. Overall, it was a fun read that kept me engaged.

First book I read by this author and really enjoyed her writing style. I got very attached to the characters of Hickory Hollow and was pleased with how she wove the story line together. Nice clean read. Also loved how the characters interact with Sarah's pet turtle. ♥️ Can't wait to read more her novels.

I absolutely LOVED this book! If, like me, you're a fan of Gilmore Girls and have always wanted to visit Stars Hollow, this is the series for you! Between the meddling of the HH Ladies' Society and Sarah and Rowan's history (see: one busted mailbox), I absolutely devoured this book because I needed that HEA!

I really enjoyed this book. No lazy writing reasons for the couple to stay apart or face drama and challenges. Adults acting like adults and a really fun story. Looking forward to meeting the author at a book signing this week.

Sarah and Rowan are so cute together! The townsfolk of Hickory Hollow put me right into a Hallmark movie. This was a quick and easy read and I can't wait to dive into more from this author.

Highly recommend! This was a very easy read. The story was cute and didn’t feel like the same typical romance novel.

Probably my favorite since Drunk on a plane! The little old ladies make it a wonderful humourous read and I fell in love with their love story.
