We get a little bit of everything in this book. It starts off right in the middle of a major scene, and then we hit rewind to see how things ended up there. After we catch up, there is also a bit more to the story, leaving us with the opening scene resolved, but in the calm before the storm.

I felt like that was a pretty creative way to start a story. Of course, it's been done before, but it's not super popular in the books I've read.

Sometimes, I felt like I was reading the story, and other times, it felt like the characters were telling me the story. I didn't really care for that aspect. There was a lot more telling than showing, as well.

I also didn't like how everyone ended up finding their mates one after another. There wasn't any build or searching. It got old.

I would have liked more depth. The whole story and relationships seem to be pretty surface level, in my opinion. I did like the journal, and I did like Finn. I felt like they were developed more than the other aspects.

I'm left curious about several things, including Finn's relationship.

Overall, it was an interesting story that left me wanting to know more.

I'll be moving on to book two to see where things go.

The book starts off in the middle, purposefully omitting information. A chapter or two later you start to get the back story and I love the way the author wrote it. It flowed perfectly into each other to start understanding everything that happened in the first couple of chapters.

I love the way Kassia writes in third person not only giving you the story through Everly’s eyes but also Liam’s. She even gives you a few chapters in a few minor characters POVs which I found to be unique and enlightening to the story.

I love the was she used for shadowing in the story. It gave me hope for more books to come. The imminent threats can’t all be defeated in just this one book. It gave me something to look forward to.

The book does have some spicy scenes but they aren’t over the top. They are the perfect amount of spice, and it’s not all spice. There is an actual story and plot that goes with it, sprinkled with spice so it isn’t too much.

This book is really good. I was pleasantly surprised with the story and how it went. Without giving spoilers it ended beautifully and I can’t wait for the next one! For me, this book has the potential to be the next ACOTAR!

This action-adventure fantasy includes dragons, angels, fae, magic, prophecies, friendship and fated mates. This couple in Book one of the Hearts of Fire series is Liam, a dragon, and Everly, a sassy human girl. Liam believes Everly is his Twin Flame (fated mate) but he has always been told that dragons and humans cannot mate. But what if this is not true? What if things are more than they seem?

This world of magic and dragons was well crafted and keeps the reader engaged from the first page to the last. There is plenty of action and steam to move the plot forward. I love these characters and the side characters are just as interesting. I cannot wait to read their stories too.

This author’s writing style is easy to read, and her characters will appeal to everyone who loves fantasy romance. The dialogue is witty and the smexy times adds to the overall story. I never felt the steam was forced because this is a romance. Overall, it was a great read.

So many of my favorite things in one book. Dragons – YES! Magic – YES! Fated Mates – YES! Spicy – YES! I really enjoyed this book and its unique take dragons, fae, magic and more. This installment mainly focuses on Liam and Everly, but we are introduced to whole host of other characters too and get to go through a portion of their journey too.

Kassia DeVane did a fabulously job of bringing to life the different worlds within the story and how all characters are all brought together. The villain roles were perfectly crafted to truly hate them and I didn’t see some of the twists that came with them. It just really hooked me in.
The spice was very well done and not just added to add the spice. I loved the connection that was made during the spicy scenes. I love me some spice in my books and this was a perfect amount without me wanting to skip over it all because it was too much.

I highly recommend this book if you like fantasy with dragons, fae, mermaids, magic, fated mates and spice (and more!)

The story drops you right into the story. Sometimes, that's a good thing. Sometimes, it's too much to try and figure out. In this case, it wasn't bad. Just left me confused for about 10% of the book until I got the flashbacks and the story. I feel that the story itself was all over the place. I'm not sure if it's because of how it started or everything that was going on.

Now, I love the characters themselves. Liam and Everly are so cute together. After finishing Queen of Chaos, I'm so glad that Liam is a decent and loyal guy to his mate. Unlike Knox. The only reason I'm comparing the two is because they are both creatures who are thousands of years old. I also love Cordelia, Marcus, Galan, Felicity, and all the other side characters. They really made the story flourish and come to life.

This story is written with a flashback storytelling perspective. To some it can throw you off guard for a moment. I found myself rereading a line again here and there because the story made me stop and be like wait what? What did I miss? I love that the author created a world with more then one supernatural race/species. To me it just makes more sense especially compared to the real world and there being more then one race or species. There's a lot of action within the story that keeps you up reading just to find out what happens next. I believe it was a great mix of romance and spice with a nice mix of problems or obstacles the characters must overcome. I cant wait to find out what happens in the next book!

Twin Flame by Kassia DeVane is a dragon meets ?human girl smexy story with magic and lots of intrigue.

Right from the start I fell in love with Liam and Everly and I think I felt every emotion with them as I followed them in their story. The villain was truly evil, the battle scenes wild, and the different worlds band together to overcome evil.

So many found their fated mates it made my heart soar. Mom, Gramma & Nana made me want to jump into their world to join the family to fight alongside them. The ending had me sitting here open mouthed with a “what the…” expression! Rated ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for this well written story that will leave you wanting to know what happens next… so much so that I’m off to start book 2!

A dragon, fated mates romance?? Yes please!!! Oh my goodness this book was magnificent!!! I genuinely loved every second of this story, from the characters, to the overall story line! The author writes so beautifully, and is able to capture the essence of the story! She's able to do that by giving each character a "voice". This book makes you feel like you're not reading and I absolutely love books that can do that! Liam, the MMC, is a wonderful character and I enjoyed reading his story unfold! Overall this was a fast paced, easy, and very enjoyable read! I can't wait to read the second book!!

Interesting read

This was such a interesting concept! I loved the different realms of dragons! So many different supernatural creatures being involved is so cool! There were some parts of the story that had gaps or simply glazed over. There were some parts I wish, like some relationships, I wish went more in-depth to explain their connections. But over all this was a very intriguing read. I’m curious to see how this story evolves in further books.

This book ends on an cliffhanger.

This book has it all. I can not wait to read more about these fated mates! Dragons, magic, spicy, fae, oh my! This had amazing world building with detail that rivals most. It had Spice that was delectable and leaves you on the edge of your seat needing more. It has mermaids fae and dragons so all the fantasy pack in one. The characters were well drawn up and supported by other amazing characters. It is book one of a series and has so much to offer. There were plot twists and it kept me guessing. On to book two!

Fated mates, a prophecy, a secret identity? This book is an adventure, so buckle up! I could not put this book down. The characters are so great and they make you want to keep reading to find out what happens next. The book starts out in present time with minimal context and then you time travel back to the beginning and that’s when the story really behinds to unfold. Fantastic book. One hell of an ending. I can’t wait until the next book!

This was a fun, easy read! I really enjoyed the characters and the development of the story. Thought it was interesting how the majority of the book is a back story, could have just started out that way, but the flow was still good. Excited to read the 2nd book!

You are drawn into the story by the absolute chaos that starts and then suddenly you are thrown back into the past, which is amazing, you learn so much and it keeps you on your toes, who is Everly and what is actually going on, it’s far bigger than they all suspect! Amazing book, great spice level and the fantasy and plot line are *chefs kiss* 💋 honestly, this little series is worth the read! 5/5 🌟

Liam Bane, a dragon shifter, has found his mate, his twin flame, after over 2,300 years of searching for her throughout the seven realms. His quest leads him to Everly, a spirited human. The problem, a dragon should not be able to mate with a human. Together, they must work together to uncover the secrets of Everly’s past. Their path is filled with relentless attacks, and a prophecy looms over their heads.

The story starts off right in the middle of a major scene and purposely leaves things out. Then we go back and get the back story. This was a little confusing to start off with, but I liked that it was different. I loved the expanded world-building of fae, witches, angels, and demons. The story development and plot was quick-paced. The romance didn’t feel forced. I personally liked that they accepted their relationship quickly. There are some spicy scenes in it as well. Overall, seeing the fantasy elements mixed with adventure and romance created a beautiful love story that I am excited about continuing to read in book 2.

What an amazing story! How could you not love this journey of a story? And it’s just getting started! Fated mates, dragons, a mermaid, the fae, a bad guy and love to unite them all. That is what it takes to make an epic adventure that once you dive into their world it’s hard to leave. Running to read book 2 to see what’s in store for the dragons and their mates as they face the impending war that could span all the realms

I love how the book started off and then went back and recounted everything that happened to lead to the beginning. I personally despised Drew and his Witch lol. I love how all the characters somehow end up tied to each other one way or another and Liam’s momma is the sweetest taking in all these children!
