WHAT HAPPENS WHEN FIERY ROCKER MEETS STOIC BODYGUARD?
Tristan Briggs was once a member of an elite law-enforcement task force. Following the murder of her partner, for which she blames herself, Tristan now works as a close-protection officer. Used to guarding CEOs or high-ranking diplomats, the last thing she expects is a bubblegum singer for a client. Still, a job is a job.
Alys Huxley is no longer a kid pop-star. Now twenty-eight, she has established herself as a rock goddess with millions of followers all over the world. When a stalker comes along, the last thing she wants is another damn bodyguard to restrict her lifestyle.
Handsome but aloof Tristan Briggs is not what Alys expected. Edgy yet vulnerable Alys Huxley makes Tristan weak. A tragedy brings the two women closer. But with a stalker on the loose, could it all end before it starts?
My novels are about strong, grounded women who live, love, and thrive in adventurous worlds.
As Natalie Debrabandere, I write lesbian fiction with a romantic twist. As N.D. Shar, I dive into edgy sci-fi with kick-ass female leads and non-stop action.
If this is your first experience with my books, I hope you’ll find as much pleasure in reading them as I do in writing them.

As a bodyguard story arc, this is top shelf. Probably the gold standard for me. And I definitely don't say that lightly. This was a fantastic read. The characters were extremely well developed. At no point did I think, wait, what? And that happens a lot for me. Not here though. The scenes were fluid and very very well written.
This was a great read. I devoured it in a single sitting. Strong and insightful characters, yet also vulnerable. I found tears in my eyes at one point and a smile on my face by the end. Highly recommend.
First, I thought it was pretty well telegraphed who the stocker was from early on in the story.
Second, they take her dog somewhere he will be safe until everything is over, but then a few pages later, the author has him laying next to the MC in her bed.
Third, the author needs to stop using the word “gosh” so much. I can’t imagine a rockstar and a hard-core bodyguard saying “gosh”’ all the time. No descriptive is better than a false descriptive. Nobody talks like that. Some people may not cuss, but 90% of the population does not say gosh”. It became annoying.
I liked the story. There were some hard and deep things the reader has to deal with. Perhaps a trigger warning about suicide should’ve been included in the beginning of the book or in the descriptor. But, other than that, the story was rather enjoyable.
As always, the story is well constructed with 2 top notch MCs. They are each fascinating characters but together they are amazing. Who is after the Rock Goddess? Someone has to protect her and Tristan is just the woman. This story captured my attention and wouldn't let go.
Nice characters but I am officially over the entire “fall for the bodyguard” genre. I love a good romance but there simply can’t be as much push-pull as there is here. I was more annoyed with Tristan (She should be a LOT more professional than she actually is) than I was involved in enjoying the writing which was well done, as always. I do wish Natalie would get back to her science fiction series.
This book has a terrible cover. BUT it is a surprisingly entertaining read. The story is about a pop star who is trying to remake her image as a harder rocker (I kept thinking of Avril Lavigne for some reason). She's been getting some threatening emails and notes and her manager has hired her a personal bodyguard. Tristan, the bodyguard, is an ex-cop whose partner was viciously killed in some drug war murder/torture situation and has been emotionally traumatized by his loss. She's aloof and unreachable and the pop star, Alys (Alice), who doesn't want a bodyguard because she trusts her fans and her staff, is able to get under Tristan's defenses once they get to know each other. Tale as old as time--the boss and the worker who fall in love because of close working situations. But the subplot involving the stalker is actually quite interesting, and the reveal is not obvious or stupid..
I would've rated this 5 stars, but the author has this really weird tic where they write huh-uh to mean yes (uh-huh) when it really means no (say it out loud and tell me otherwise). It was so annoying I couldn't ignore it. There was one other thing like that as well--"uh" when they meant "eh?" I don't know anything about the author, but it made me wonder if they were European or something. Perhaps that explained it. But otherwise, I really enjoyed the book. It didn't drag, and there was just enough push/pull to make you invested without beating you over the head like some of the other lesbian romances I've read this past year. I think I've read one of this author's other books too, but I'll have to go back to my Kindle and figure it out later. So all in all, I liked it! I read it very quickly.
It seems that the “Bodyguard” trope is very popular. I know I always enjoy them. I was surprised that it was written by Natalie Debrabandere. Her writing and other books seemed a little deeper than where this book could take you, but I am so glad I read it. It had suspense, it had flirty banter, it had funny and sad moments and it had love. Tristian the bodyguard, is hired by Alys the music superstar after some heavy threats have come in against her. When the two first meet, there is mutual attraction but Tristian knows better and Alys is still going to do Alys. As the two begin to navigate around each other, as the threats get more personal, they are drawn to each other. As the story unfolds there is a charming aspect about it. I only wish we had learned more about “Rose” if only to understand her more. But still a great read!
Rock stars, Hollywood moguls, do they really need bodyguards?
Most people would think no, except at an event, to keep fans from ruining it for others. “Rocking the Bodyguard” introduces you to a behind the scenes look of the what a singing star might go through to become world renowned. The possibilities of abusive fans. What cops and/or bodyguards must anticipate, look for when performing their jobs. At the same time, bodyguard Tristan Briggs, meet Sex Pistol, cousin Eric, and Brad the manager. Throw in a temper tantrum or two, a whole lot of patience and maybe the stress can develop into an understanding. Who knows… maybe the bodyguard can learn to like the “Rock Queen.”
Ok, this one had me guessing. I was with the cops with my thinking. Enjoyed the main characters and the flow of the story. Kinda liked the addition of Quinn from a previous book as well…as I was reading that bit it was like…I know those characters, had to look back to be sure. Overall another great read. Think The Bodyguard…only sapphic…and in my opinion way better than the film…oh and let’s not forget the cute doggo!
Another stellar book by Natalie Debrabandere. I must say I’m a big fan of her work and look forward to every new release.
This one had me sneaking in chapters on my work breaks and I’m sad that it has ended. There was a nice mystery in the mix and I quite enjoyed the development of the relationship. Not insta-love but definitely some sizzling scenes. Highly recommend!
I drop whatever I’m reading when a new Natalie Debrabandere is published. Excellent writing, sweet emotions and fantastic adventure and action, what’ s not to love?
Started off with emotional grief, erotic, dominant MC's intro, and then a dragging follow ending. The storyline did not justify the lovers. No climatic scenes when they get together, and an uprupt ending.
A very good story not very original but well written with well described main characters, feelings, emotions, suspense and a happy ending. Really pleased with this book, definitely recommending it.
Strong characters with inner demons, alongside being awesome creations make for a pleasing read. There were some leaps of storyline that Jared slightly, but overall, an engaging read.
A very good story with strong engaging characters. The Rock star, the bodyguard and the stalker, a common enough theme but this is really well written and the F\F angle twists it a little. I like this authors books and this is a good one. Highly recommended.
A good read, Huxley and Briggs (as they're mostly referred to) have some great chemistry. Still curious what happened to her partner though as it talked about him being lured out and how it was a mystery.
Another absolutely fantastic book from my favourite author. Mystery, suspense, romance, a hot butch, a sexy rock goddess, amazing sexy scenes, and a cute puppy. This book rocked.
Bruh. Loved it. Read it like four times in a week. A few small typos here or there, whatever, well written, awesome characters, solid plot, really good bad guy. Give it a go
I have enjoyed this wonderful heartfelt story of badass ex cop turn bodyguard and hard driving rock star that has a need when stalker starts messing with her life.
Was kinda expecting the twist and who the reveal of the stalker was, but still enjoyed it. One of the more well written bodyguard/client romances out there.
