Hush 2: The Night Call
In the sequel to the terrifying Hush, we meet Walter Sunderland, a loner sworn to celibacy since his divorce. Walter lives alone, invested in his care work and estranged from his last surviving sibling, his older sister, Bertha. With only his neighbours to speak to on occasion, Walter chooses to live as a recluse until he meets Gilly, a lovely charity shop worker who awakens something in him and slowly draws him out of his shell. As Walter falls for the charming and gentle Gilly, he reveals that he is being haunted by his mother and auntie, who passed some years earlier and whom he misses dearly. Gilly has visions of her own and once they both share them and grow closer, something malevolent lurks in the shadows.
As dreams blur into reality something monstrous and evil pursues Walter, and it wants his soul. Walter turns to a local priest for help but when it leads to nothing, he delves deeper into the mysteries of the occult and demonic possession, after which he looks for Lionel, the next door neighbour of famous ex-clergyman and powerful exorcist, Heath Dorset, who perished a few years back whilst battling with a fearsome entity.
As the demonic harassment continues night after night, a weakened and vulnerable Walter must fight to stay awake and find a way to deal with a hellish monstrosity that will stop at nothing until it gets what it wants, and as Walter's strength falters with every encounter, mum and auntie reach out from beyond but their intercession is limited by an unseen power. Are they trying to save him, or is it deception, pushing him further into the clutches of a foul and soul-starved abomination from the depths of hell?
As Walter slowly succumbs to the unspeakable power of the demon, both his body and soul will be torn apart unless he finds the strength and courage to face the ultimate evil to determine his own destiny and the fate of mankind.
