Love in Audio is a delightful rom-com where dreams play on shuffle, past regrets seek a rewind, and life’s soundtrack might be worth one more remix.
Fans of Emily Henry or Katherine Center will adore this charming autumn read.
I don’t think this book was great but it also wasn’t bad. I think coming off the high of “Against the Boards” made it difficult for me to enjoy this one. Megs just didn’t seem like she had any direction in life and pretty early on it grated on me. Gideon was okay. Can’t really complain but can’t praise his character either.
It is a cute, cozy, clean romance. The story just flows and it easy to read. I enjoyed the book throughly. I can envision the characters and the story. And its easy to get lost in. I enjoy all of Cynthia's books.
For this one, I can't help but give it five stars this time.
First of all, I listened to this while driving to and from work over an hour away, so that may play into my rating, but I don't care because this was so fun. I went in with a few more expectations because this is my fourth listen by this author, so I knew what to expect this time. But I think she outdid herself! This was a blast! I adore Gideon and Megs was so, so fun. First of all, I relate to her (apart from having a Gideon in my life). These characters never fail to be relatable, and I love that. I also love how there is very little to no miscommunication. These characters actually talk about their problems, and it's nice. Anyways, I really enjoyed this and definitely recommend it, but I also recommend experiencing One Last Christmas first because those characters are mentioned pretty often in this one. I think it will hit better. Anyways, this was great! Toodles!!
This book follows Meg who aspires to be a role actress and whose mother sold their house recently and left her with no choice but to get a certificate to get a white-collar job. Things change when Meg finds different opportunities on her way, one of which is meeting Gaidon, whom she finds herself attracted towards. The problem is that he becomes her professor.

Thoughts and feelings:
🍁This book took me by surprise. I was looking for a cute romcom that would make me forget how hectic real life could be. I didn't expect it to be multilayered or deep or even that beautiful. Tbh, the story might be forgettable considering how much I read, but since I absolutely had a great time listening to this, I might just not consider the tiny things I felt meh about about this book 😅
🍁The book is well written. It flows so smoothly and it keeps you interested. It can be a bit cheesy at times, but it wasn't cringy imo. Also, the dialogues are good and are funny at times. The narrator, who happens to be the author herself, kept me mesmerised with the story. I literally caught myself mouth-open while reading at times. If that is not a universal sign, I don't know what is.
🍁The characters here were interesting to read about. They are rounded and multi-dimensional. They have hobbies, dreams, and ambitions. They aspire to better their today's situation. They are mature, and they act as the adults they are. Well,... most of the time, at least. Some people might consider this as a taboo situation where it's forbidden for a professor to have a relationship with his student. Well.. it is. But, it didn't feel like that tbh. The rapport the two establishes felt like a meant-yo-be thing. They are literally soulmates. And if I am to argue a bit more, the girl is 25, and he's 30, so technically, they can be together. But, I get why it's a big deal nevertheless.
🍁I admire how the author tackled the situation the heroine goes through in this book. Even though the mother pushes her daughter too far (1. Technically left her homeless. 2. Pushed her to study something that is not only tough but also she's got 0 interest in. 3. Neglected her daughter's dreams and asked her to give up on them because they won't pay her bills), the author showed us what the mother did was not a reason for the daughter to despise her mother or crush the relationship she's got with her. It was also interesting how the daughter did push herself and did what her mother wanted, but managed to squeeze in pursuing something she loves simultaneously. That option there was beautifully embedded.
🍁Another theme that is beautifully explored here is romance / love. There is this quote in the book that summarizes the best kind of relationship. I didn't write it down, but it generally indicates that romance comes second in any relationship. Knowing and understanding the other person is what comes first. I couldn't agree more.
I really enjoyed this book and the pacing and the characters. I appreciated the fact that the characters were mature and they didn’t make rash decisions and they understood each other. It helped me to really enjoy the romance that was slowly building up however, I did not understand the choice for the main leads to get married after only one year of dating considering the fact that I was under the impression that Professor Gideon was a smart and cautious man. It really just took me out of it honestly I just thought that was so out of character so it did lose a star in regards to that but overall fun and wholesome read and I loved loved loved their romance.

I listened to the audiobook on Youtube via the author's profile (Cindy Gunderson). I loved the narration and the autumn and academia vibes. I was really invested in the story, so I was annoyed when I had a power outage and had to wait to finish the book. I would have liked a brief summary of Jennifer at the end (tie up loose ends), but aside from that, it was an interesting and relatable story. I will checking out her other books in this series.
I’m currently on a mission to dig up underrated romcoms, and this one is seriously hidden treasure. Never even heard of it before, went in totally blind, and I was hooked. Like, couldn’t put it down, grinning like an idiot hooked. at least for the first 60%. But then it slowed down a bit, and the miscommunication kicked in, which pulled me out of the story a little.
4,5/5 I listened to this as an audiobook on YouTube and it was so cute. I definitely would recommend it. It's about a student and teacher romance (they don't know he's going to be her teacher at first). I love the chemistry, forbidden romance and jealousy in this book. Very likable characters and cute plot.
This was a cute story. I enjoyed the whole "finding yourself" aspect of the book and how building confidence can be such a life changer. It was fun, with a cute get together and compelling characters. Quite enjoyed it.
"Gideon- I want you to do the narration, you're excellent and I-" "Meg's hasn't auditioned yet." Matt's lips flattened into a line "I don't think-" "MEG'S HASN'T AUDITIONED YET"
Loved!! Listened to the audiobook on YouTube via the authors page. It was so good. Meg was very relatable and Gideon was such a great guy. I liked that everything worked out for Meg, but it wasn't her dream, it was a new dream, just like Gideon. Much more realistic. Loved everything about it.
I love how real the romance is! Gideon's ability to follow the rules in the face of human urges, and Megs' ability to admit her wrongdoing, was so refreshing!
I loved the characters and the story. Meg wants to be an actor, but her mother says give it up, get a real job. She's now having a big problem with negative self-talk, like having a devil and an angel on her shoulders. Gideon is an x-rockstar, now teaches audio engineering. Both audition for a book narrator gig for a famous romance author.
