There will be spoilers from book 1, Possession.


I would never have expected this ebook to be narrated by Indy. And I would never have expected to love an ebook narrated by Indy. But this story was so interesting. It tied in perfectly with Possession. And it told us a part of the story that we never knew was happening. I thoroughly enjoyed this ebook.

I am not sure if this was the intent at all, but I actually ended up sort of disliking Jag because of this story. Yes, Indy had sort of already broken up with him. But for him to have been sort of dating her and then for him to just show up with Vi (and to be in love with Vi). Well that didn't seem very nice. I felt so bad for Indy. I hope she fits into Surrender some how.

This was a great inside look at what was happening while Jag was away. Loved it and I would highly recommend it for all fans of POSSESSION.

I had no interest in Indy when she appeared in Possession and I still have none after reading Regret. Another character who you just have to accept is deeply floundering in obsession/love. Really, does this author know the difference? Indy would have been a more likable character if we wern't introduced to her as being in love with Jag. This could've made me want to know about her, but no, huge fail. The only interesting part in this whole thing was that someone actually died, finally. It only took a book and two short stories for someone to not just disappear and turn up later, but actually die. Too bad the author couldn't have let the character be that bit more loveable. I felt she only made the competition between the girls to make it more acceptable with readers when she was killed off. Well no, it didn't work. Instead of being angry someone who had potential is dead, I just don't care, because she seemed like a twat. This short story was too long right from the get go because Indy is terribly lame, and now I can expect there to be more from her in the next book. Ugh. At this point I dislike Indy and Jag. And Vi's love of Jag makes me dislike her. It's a vicious circle of yuck.

If anything this book cemented my severe dislike of the main character of the whole book series. It's not just that he throws his girlfriend away in the blink of an eye for somebody he knows for five minutes (yes, yes, some might argue that they were broken up for the moment but still that merely happened about six minutes ago), he tamples all over her feelings by staying at her house without telling her. It also reveals what a poor leader Jag is, leaving Indy without talking to her about a backup plan and never having taken her into his confidence enough so she would know what to do with his precious resistance.

Apart from that this was a huge disappointment as a supposed tie-in novella - mainly because it doesn't tie much of anything together. In Surrender Zenn tells Gunn that he has been in contact with Indy and the resistance, that she is his handler. Yet we never get to see how this came to pass, this story ending with Indy feeling betrayed by Zenn and running into the woods. What happened after that to cause a rapprochement? So honestly, this piece is screaming missed opportunity and doesn't help at all to bridge the events between Possession and Surrender.

This novella is narrated by Indy, who is Jag's ex-girlfriend and also second-in-command in the Resistance. She played a minor role in Possession, and I was not really sure what to expect from this book written from her point of view.

I am pleasantly surprised by how much I did enjoy this book! In my opinion, Indy comes across as much more mature than Vi so the book takes on a completely different tone. Indy is bright and brave, and she is smart enough hold her cards close to her chest and always wears her "game face." Dare I say it? I will: I like Indy more than I like Vi! There, I said it! Please don't hate me!!

The story is followed by the first two chapters of Possession and the first two chapters of Surrender. So far, this is my favourite book in the series!

MY RATING: 4 stars!! It was really good! You should put it on your "To Be Read" list.

WOW! I'm so glad I got a chance to read this story! I learned so much about Jag in this story, and the Badlands, and the resistance. It is told from his old girlfriend's POV, Indy. So yes, we find out that Indy was an old girlfriend of his--actually up until the week before he left the Badlands! I thought I was going to hate her at first, but she is actually a very tough bad ass girl in her own right. And something tells me she might be Jag's and Vi's only hope in upcoming events! I am thinking this story might be pivotal in the series later, so if you are reading this series, I would recommend! 4 stars!

I absolutely LOVE this series, but was somewhat disappointed with this installment. I had hoped to get a deeper look into Jag's past, especially his relationship with Indy, but came away from this with only more questions. In hindsight, I would have preferred that Regret was written in Jag's POV. It's a great novella, and I would recommend it to anyone who has read Possession...I guess I just had somewhat higher/different expectations.

I love Johnson's voice. That was my main thought through this short bridge novella (is that what it's called? I have no idea) along with the thought that I just think Jag is super fly. I can't wait to see how things shake out in the next (Surrender, coming out next week, woot woot!) novel. While I don't necessarily love all the tech in the novels, I can totally look past it because Johnson's characterizations are SO good!!! Love!

Honestly, I couldn't have cared less about Indy, and this was though only a short novella, it was still too long of a try to make me care and sympathize. She was annoying, she wasn't in love with Jag, she was obsessed with him on an unhealthy level.
Why the four stars then? Because of Jag. Because we can learn a few new things about him, and that's great.
I have nothing more to say. Maybe that I'm not looking forward to meet Indy again.

Very good short story. I wanted more though. Realizing that I have read this after Surrender and Abandon have already been on the shelves for a while, I don't see the purpose in this very short book. (too short) But knowing it came out before Surrender makes it a genius marketing tactic. It is interesting to see another view point of the story and to understand what is happening to other characters at the same time. Good to read, but not necessary information to the "Trilogy."

I'm surprised it's a story from Indy's point of view as she's not an important character for me. We don't have anough of Jag, Zenn or Vi and I don't want to have glimpse of Jag's love stories before Vi, sorry.

I liked reading Regret, because I got to know Indy better. I didn't like her in the other books of the Possession Series but I thought this short story was OK.

I do think it's a bit weird that other characters from Regret, like Lex, don't reappear in the other books..

When I bought it, it said 100 pages, I was so sad when it finished at 49 and jumped to Possession. I didn't want Indy's POV to end. I'm excited to start on Surrender, now!
