The Boss Dilemma

Rate this book
He was the mystery man I couldn’t forget.
And now… he’s my new boss.

A year ago, I had the wildest night of my life with a man whose name I didn’t even know. A chance meeting at a bar sparked a connection neither of us could deny, and he spent an entire night worshipping my body.

One night.
No names.
No strings.

That’s all it was supposed to be.

We were never supposed to see each other again—so I’m shocked when I show up at my new job and realize he’s the CEO.

It doesn’t matter, though. Despite the fact that I can still feel every touch he left on my body, there’s no way anything can happen between us.

So I’ll just have to survive the late nights in the office and the smoldering glances that make me feel like I might combust. I’ll pretend his slate gray eyes and dominating presence have no effect on me at all.

Because if we give in to the chemistry between us? If we let that thread of tension snap? It won’t just be my job on the line…

It will be my heart.

This book was good (3 stars for me) until the closet.

I was bored by 40% as the writing takes minutes and stretches them into MULTIPLE paragraphs long.

The closet incident was just... not what it was cracked up to be. I've seen multiple people say "loving the groveling" but he groveled for 3-5 paragraphs.

The story is basically over at 60% because nothing else in this plot line matters now that his dickishness has been forgiven by yet again, a FMC WITH ABSOLUTELY ZERO BACKBONE.

You cannot be a spitfire and then also have zero backbone or self-control. That's an oxymoron.

One night stand - boss/employee - 3rd act breakup - spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This was a good book but not gonna lie it had a lot a lot of cliches in character background and in storyline. So yeah what I meant to say is that it didn't offer me nothing new, nothing different from what I have read before.

well in terms of the pace it was pretty good there were some moments that I felt a little bit bored but they weren't many.

One thing that I would have decrease was the amount of sex scenes that there is. I'm a big fan of spice but it has to be placed right for it to catch your attention and keep you hooked from beginning to end and in this one I felt there was way too many. I would have liked more tension building so then when they finally gave in it's more memorable. Sometimes less is more.

I liked Sophie a lot I liked how she respected herself and how she sets her boundaries to him. I also like Declan even though at first he was kind of a pain in the ass and stubborn as hell but I did like him and the third act break up that happens is a little stupid but well understandable.

So in general aspects I liked it and I will be reading the next book of the series🙌

This is a man in complete control. A man used to having the world rearrange itself around him according to his whims. It’s impressive. Attractive. And also a little scary.

This book was a breath of fresh air compared to other spicy novels. It was refreshing to read about a relationship where the female wasn’t bribed (by him buying the company she works for, her apartment building or any other cliche’s) she wasn’t forced (being told they have to move in together, he’s insanely protective/jealous) and she wasn’t a complete push over. She stood her ground from the first page to the last page.

I had to mark it down a star because of the level of spice, don’t get me wrong I LOVE SPICE why else do we read these books? But this was literal pages and pages and pages of the same scene over and over again sometimes for no reason. It’s hard to follow two characters love story when they have no more than 5 conversations throughout the whole book.

This writer is good at what they do and I thoroughly enjoyed this book but there were little niggles that made it lose a star.

The Boss Dilemma by Elena Wilde

🌟🌟🌟🌟

TROPES

Workplace romance
One-night stand

Opposites attract
Forced proximity
Secret relationship

Second chance romance
Slow burn

A steamy contemporary romance that follows a woman who unexpectedly finds herself working for the man she shared a passionate, anonymous night with a year earlier. Their chemistry is undeniable, but now that he’s her boss, the stakes are higher and the tension is electric. As they navigate late nights, secret glances, and the pull of their past connection, she must decide whether risking her heart is worth the danger to her career. The story blends emotional angst with playful banter and features classic romance tropes like opposites attract and grumpy meets sunshine.

I flew through The Boss Dilemma in just two days and absolutely loved it. It’s juicy, well-written, and packed with not just a sizzling romance but also engaging side stories that kept things interesting. The plot had great momentum and the characters felt real, making it a super satisfying and addictive read.

“All I want is to protect your heart. It’s the most amazing heart I’ve ever known. It can hold so much love and hope, and I’m going to keep it safe. I promise, Spitfire. I vow it to you with everything I am. On my mother’s memory. On the life I want to build with you—the life that would be nothing without you in it—I promise I’ll never so much as put a crack in that beautiful heart of yours.”

I found this book thanks to TikTok and it didn't disappoint. Declan and Sophie were such a fun and intense couple to read about! We get their backstory and assume that was gonna be it but nope they end up reunited a year later when he becomes her boss and she his employee! At first they try to not interact with each other but find it very difficult to do due to their chemistry so they enter a situation-ship which ends in heartbreak, but then they end up dating. Over the course of the book we learn about them as people and why they act the way they do especially Declan. I absolutely loved the ending!

DEFINITE READ ❤️

Hiii,

i first want to say i absolutely loved this book it was extremely well written and great character development.

Two points though, i wish we got to hear more about reagan, andrea and marks lives. Would have been great to read more backstory on them. The second, is that the relationship wasnt balanced too well. With Declan giving all the praise and Sophie not giving alot back to him. I know its quite a common thing in romance novels. But it would be great for Sophie to do something for Declan like organise a date or a day to do things.

All in all i seriously cannot wait for the sequel!!! PLEASE LET THE NANNY IN THE NEXT BOOK BE REAGAN!!!!!!!!

Rushed Ending

I’d say 4/5 of the book was really great writing. The ending was extremely short, rushed, and left me feeling unsatisfied. There wasn’t even an “I’m sorry” in the make up scene. I feel like the main characters feelings were immediately brushed over because of how much she ‘loved’ him. I wish the writer would have included a few more chapters of him making it up to her.

I really enjoyed this book

Age gap romance, billionaire romance, second act break up, little suspense towards the end. Like how it kind of bridges the gap to the next book and builds towards it.

Spicy 🔥🔥🔥🔥 there were a lot of scenes that kept you going

Definitely a good cute read

3.5 ⭐️
