A menace , I was, the duration of my life. Unsure of what was next, who was next, or where I was headed next. The only for-sure shit in my world was my paper and my people. The ice around my heart was still intact, never being penetrated or as much as tapped.
Amazed , I was, the day I encountered you. The perfect analogy for your government, you were cold, Mommas. The impression you left on me heated me to the core, thawing the ice around that red vessel, awakening it from hibernation.
A man on a mission , I became the minute I decided that it was you I wanted to myself, promising to never share you with anyone else. Fearful Love
I loved Makai, and that should be concerning because he was borderline unstable and definitely toxic 🤷🏾♀️
Makai and Glacier meet when Glacier's world is falling apart and he happens to help her put a little bit of her world back together. These two were the definition of opposites attract when it came to their personalities...Makai was ghetto af, brash, and stubborn while Glacier was sweet, unproblematic, and borderline bougie.
This book was typical Grey... very wordy, immediate attraction, intense connection, big love, a bossy azz mmc, a third act breakup, and an ending with room to build, maybe too much room 🥴
Things I liked...Makai and his need to protect at all cost. I loved his pettiness, you go low he was going to hell 😩. Makai was so sweet too, his love for Glacier was overwhelming. Had him out of his mind.Unpopular opinion is that I do think we needed the third act break up in THIS particular story because of what he decided to do. Loved The cameos from the wives and the M's and Lawe, with his mannish azz 🤣
Things that needed improvement..the middle plot could have been more precise. There were a lot of words where they were just dating and there could have been less of that, get to the action. The format of the stories are predictable, atp we know there is going to be some conflict that creates a third act breakup...switch it up. We do not need the novellas for the women, instead finish strong. These endings have been lack luster and the words could have been used to have a strong epilogue. Grey is probably the Queen of prologues, I need that same energy in the epilogues.
Overall, I like the M's, but they are no Eisenbergs 🤷🏾♀️ I am looking forward to both Mercer and Chem's stories.

Makai applied pressure effortlessly. I love a man that’s all about his woman and we all know how Domino men are about their women. Glacier and Makai really fell head over heels for each other right away. After her closest friend and boyfriend betrayed her on the day of her graduation, leading to a split. This day is already terrible. She is experiencing car trouble and contacts a nearby tire shop which is Makai's . Three months later, out of the blue, Makai arrives at Glaciers in the middle of the night and invites her on a journey. Because of this trip, Makai and Glacier know that their actions speak volumes about how they really feel. Makai is unhinged and Mommas is just sweet. It was all fluff but I felt the breakup in the third act wasn't necessary, but it turns out that Domino men break up with their ladies near the conclusion of every novel. It ended abruptly, and I felt like we were never given a proper send-off. Anyways I need that Mercer book soon it just something about him.

Glacier x Makai
Makai and Glacier's first encounter wasn't very impressionable. But Makai immediately redeemed himself when he came to Glacier's rescue. Makai is blunt, he's a bit brash and abrasive. He was the definition of standing on business. He wanted Glacier and he went and got and loved her fiercely. Makai is harboring a lot of hurt from his past that made him who he is. But there's also this gentle, loving, and protective side of him that comes out when it comes to Glacier. Especially the protective side. His willingness to protect her at all costs was almost detrimental to their coupling. Glacier was smart, she had beauty and body. She was also very innocent. After a betrayal from her ex-boyfriend she was ready to leave him in the past and focus on her new career. That's when she met Makai and he became everything, everything to her. Her patience, her gentleness, and her love for him were healing.
I enjoyed the book, but the ending alone almost ruined the book. It was rushed and incomplete. Nonetheless, still a really good read.

Makai 🖤
Makai told us from the beginning that when it comes to protecting the ones he loved - he had no limits. The limit was past hell and he stood on business. He did what he had to do to protect Glacier and at first I didn’t understand it. Couldn’t believe he had the patience to sit where he was THAT long but then I remembered - no limits. His actions made sense.
Makai stole my heart from the beginning. Glacier had no one and he was there for her from DAY ONE. She had no family besides her Grandmother who was battling dementia but he shared his family with her. I love how Aeir, Kleu, and Nature wrapped their arms around her. Glacier needed that sisterhood.
Grey did what Grey does best - write amazing love stories with amazing Black Men who love their woman with everything in them. I was mad at the third act drama but the surprise at the end made it worth it. The ending did leave me wanting more but im sure Grey will bless us with a Glacier novella. She has to!

Makai and Glacier cross paths when Glacier’s car breaks down. Glacier calls the only number of a car shop close by which happens to be Makais. Makai rude ass answers the phone but comes through for Glacier. Fast forward 3 months Makai shows back up and claims Mommas/ Kiwi as his. A trip for a week showcases what words can’t say. Just stop and listen. I loved how patient Mommas was with Makai. I hated the third act breakup it wasn’t needed at all. I didn’t even like what followed after the breakup. I liked the cameos from the gang. I can’t wait for Mercers book to see how his restaurant does.

I will never not love me an unhinged toxic 🥷 that don’t play about his woman!! What began as a flat tired ended with a love so deep and so potent that Makai and Glacier felt like two souls that fused together as one.
Makai is the type of MMC that you can’t help but to love because the action he’s bringing is as big as my back 😆😂. When Glaicer had doubts he put them to rest! Whenever she called he was always coming and ultimately made the biggest sacrifice to ensure her well being a safety wasn’t ever compromised.
Even though I skipped Milo and Malachi’s books I can still appreciate the brotherhood that was clear between this crew and their women. The way they rallied behind these two and supported Glacier even in Makai’s absence warmed my heart. Glacier town stated how Makai put her broken pieces back together but this was a mutually beneficial experience that these two journeyed through.

🔹We love a pack a bag and hop on a flight 🥷 and we especially love a don’t pack a bag at all I’ll buy what you need 🍑🥷 yassssss!!

I miss Makai and Glacier already
Grey writes books so well that sparks literally fly off the pages. She gets me in right through the prologue and I feel tangled into the characters web, never wanting to leave.
Makai exceeded my expectations. I love an unhinged man that’s soft on his woman.
Imagine never knowing love in a romantic way, finding your person and doing everything in your power to love that woman properly and doing a damn good job at it!! That was Makai!!
I hate that he had to take the measures he did to keep Mommas safe because I know that’s gonna eff with him for life. But I also understand the type of man he is and he gon handle and eliminate anything that’s a threat to his family!
Whew! Grey, I love you for this one.

These rushed endings are not it
A recurring issue with this author is building up such interesting stories and characters, then completely botching the last 4 paragraphs. The beginning of the stories are almost over-detailed, excessive adjectives & advanced wording that doesn't fit the characters. Then it feels like the author has run out of stream by the end of the book. So all her endings are just plopped onto the reader's lap. That's not good writing. Hopefully her editing team can help the author climb over this block.

Wheeewww lord this book was everything for me I don’t know where to start. It took me a while to jump train to reading but I finally got the time and I’m glad I did before I go into the next year of the rest of the domino clan. These men that grey keep producing are just phenomenal I don’t know how she does it honestly 😭. Yes they have flaws but their personality and characteristics mixed with what they represent top it 100% any day all day. I seriously need a little novella mashup of the Eisenberg x Domino all together because it would be a riot of what we didn’t know we needed. Grey is one of the top authors on my list that just does it for me all the time !! Makai stood ten toes for Glacier from the beginning and he came swinging about her when he didn’t even know her I just really loved how he stepped to her and continued to let it be known to her and world who she is to him forever even if in the end he couldn’t be with her she was the priority period. These men are just one of kind 😌. Glacier is a breath of new air yes she’s green but her soul is pure; she matches perfectly with the Eisenberg and Domino crew of women. Their love story was sensational they came together under circumstances as two lost souls who really needed each other and I enjoyed every part played out good and bad.
P.s. I don’t know how grey keeps coming up with these female names but I love each and every unique one of these female protagonist names 😩

I will say that Makai is my favorite MMC so far. I struggle with liking Glacier character but I understands her and like them together. I hated that Glacier had to spend her entire pregnancy by herself. I may want to read more about her side during those months because she was writing him in prison. Overall my favorite book so far.

I glad to see the reviews on this book was accurate. I loved it neither of the MCs were annoying and they communicated so well. They had genuine loved for each other and I really enjoyed seeing that.

Grey Huffington did it!
Another 5 star read in the bag, I absolutely loved this book. Makai was worth the wait! I love how Grey Huffington writes her characters from a view of excellence, they are multidimensional characters. We have Makai who is the head of an organised crime organisation, the boss, he’s funny, hot-headed, family-oriented, mean to the world but he loves whats his HARD. Then you have Glacier, who is a newly registered nurse, non-confrontational, smart but not street smart, loves hard.
From the beginning, Makai had Glacier’s back, came through for her in ways that he wasn’t expected to but did it anyway. From helping with car trouble to making her special day when she had no one. Makai constantly through out the book made sure Glacier was validated, secure & protected , even to his own detriment. Glacier was that woman who made Makai see his own heart and made him realise that loving someone for real was worth it.
There was a strong theme of family & loyalty, we got to see Glacier have a new found family through sisterhood & you know how it goes with the Dominoes, you feel the family love through & through.
Ughhh but where there is love, there is pain & Makai did a lot of selflessness acts in the name of love. It made me sad but I get his thought process & loved that in the end Glacier understood.
Soooo yeah, a great book. Very funny as well I was cackling, we though Lawe was funny, wait til you come across Makai!!

I am usually really hard on the FMCs in GH books but I must start by saying I loved Glacier. Her energy was the screaming definition of “Protecting My Peace” the way she chose to not respond to things that didn’t serve her… I loved that.
I was extremely excited to read Makai bc his little pop-ups in previous books set a tone that I couldn’t wait to devour, however I really struggled with this one. The way he was described in previous books didn’t match the energy he was giving here.
The idea of putting her on ice while he chased after a man that wasn’t really a threat bothered me big time. His actions didn’t match his name in the streets. Makai was described to be a boss but he gave off childish, and insecure. When the chapters were written from his POV they read feminine, where as when I read from Lawe POV his mannerisms were extremely masculine.
Although this one didn’t do it for me, I am excited about the next books in the series.
I was extremely excited to read Makai bc his little pop-ups in previous books set a tone that I couldn’t wait to devour, however I really struggled with this one. The way he was described in previous books didn’t match the energy he was giving here.
The idea of putting her on ice while he chased after a man that wasn’t really a threat bothered me big time. His actions didn’t match his name in the streets. Makai was described to be a boss but he gave off childish, and insecure. When the chapters were written from his POV they read feminine, where as when I read from Lawe POV his mannerisms were extremely masculine.
Although this one didn’t do it for me, I am excited about the next books in the series.

I knew Makai would be the one!
I expected Makai to rock my world, but baby, baby! I did not think he would take my heart and keep it. I completely understand brokenness can cause a person to react with guarded actions. I also understood Makai's protective mode. His heart was blemished to the point of pain. Glacier was the peace Makai was afraid to accept. But.... Baby, this man took them through hell and back to make sure she had everything within his powers to deliver. He delivered.

I LOVE the men that GH creates. Although I don’t care for contemporary, I enjoy GH’s writing. Reading about black couples being loved properly is so refreshing. Highly recommend.

Makai was just unhinged 🤣 and I loved every part of it. I really appreciate how Grey explored his layers especially dealing with what he dealt with. It really shows why he is the way he is and made me appreciate his person more ❤️ I was not expecting the ending but i was all for it🫶🏾🤗

✨Book Review✨
I am at a loss for words; Makai has left me speechless. Man, Grey knows how to write a book. She immerses you in her story. As she said, this is Art, and it was so beautiful to read. I gave up my whole Saturday just to read this book, and I’m glad I did, too.
Glacier was in a four-year relationship that ended the day of her graduation. Discovering that her best friend and boyfriend were having an affair was devastating. But Glacier was determined not to let that heartbreak stop her from getting the degree she worked so hard for. On her way to her graduation, as luck would have it, her tire pops. In need of assistance, she contacts the closest tire shop, which happens to be Makai’s. Right from the beginning, I fell for this man. It’s something about an unhinged man with a heart of gold that will win me over every time.
Makai saw something in Glacier immediately. And the way he showed up for her on that day was just so beautiful. What I love most about these two is their communication. They felt so mature. And for Makai to never have experienced a romantic love, he sure was showing up like an expert. I loved how he kept asking if he was doing anything wrong; Makai wanted to ensure he loved her properly. 😩 I was swooning 🥰🥰.
I hate that he had to make the sacrifice he did to protect his Mammas, but I also understand that after the family lost Anna, Makai was going to make sure that the same fate didn’t happen to Glacier. And Nelson punk ass had to go so by any means necessary.
I miss him already. Please, please, Grey, give us a novella on Glacier. I have to have more of them.
I definitely cannot wait for Mercer‘s book; we need someone strong to come in and break down his walls. This man is going to love the hell out of his woman.

this was going so well til like the last 20% it felt so rushed after the 3rd act breakup. I wanted to see more of them and their happiness.
It ended so quickly after his release from jail and there was no pushback on Glacier’s end and I found that weird especially since she wrote him letters for almost TWO YEARS and got no response and he admitted to only reading ONE of them. I’d be way more pissed.
She was far too sweet for the way she was getting treated by everyone around her but other than that I really liked her. She has the kindest heart and is so forgiving and communicative and compassionate.
Their chemistry was off the charts. I felt it. They mesh together very well imo. They communicated pretty well too! The spice was HAWT 🔥
Makai is a walking red flag 🚩 but im color blind sooooo

I am a poet because of this book.
I absolutely adored this book so much and I really love and cherish it. I can’t even say it came when I needed it the most but it was so soothing and one of a kind.
Different, humorous and absolutely beautiful.
The love, the instant connection and recognition, the romance, the soulmatism and invincible string theory between Makai and Glacier is inexplicable.
The love makes me speak in another language and the ambience just warms me up like a cup of tea.
It’s so refreshing and exciting.
Exhilarating and heartbreaking too and this made it even better. I felt safe reading it and I’m not even in Berkeley omg.
A beautiful book and the perfect love story.

MY FAVORITE BOOK!! I love a good crackhead and this boy is one!! I did not know what to expect when I was reading this book. I was wondering why he got another book and I understand why. I thought he was just crazy. He has so much sense in his brain when he wants to use it. Makai knowing vocabulary words was too cute and unexpected. The way I read this book all in on early morning. I ate it up. I ate up Makai. HE IS MY FAVE. Out of all the men from Luca to him. This is the one. Side note. I was not expecting the plot twist towards the end. I thought the ex was running his own business on the side but NOT THAT!!!! Hands down love this book. I was sad I had to wait to read Mercer’s book, but NOW I am sad I had to wait so long to read about Makai.
