Pawning her diamond watch for enough money to run from a man who had threatened her life, Anne Foxworth Jennings meets irresistible pawn broker Spider Webb, and she is sorely tempted to stop running
Anne is on the run from her step-brother and ends up getting mugged outside Spider's pawn shop right after she pawned her watch. After weeks on the run, it was too much for Anne and she was extremely lucky that Spider is a stand up kind of guy. He takes her in, gives her a job and they of course fall for each other while waiting for her friend/lawyer to get back into town. Spider has a white knight complex and was a bit over-protective, but an all around sweet ex-football player.
would have been a five but I didn't care for the overly paranoid Anne. from the moment she met spider she trusted him enough to sleep in his home but not enough to at least tell him the whole truth. for a character so smart she sure took her time. even with the hiccup (and really it was minuscule) I would highly recommend this book to read.
Anne is on the run from her stepbrother a very evil man. She walks into a pawn shop and her life is changed forever. When she meets the pawn shop owner spider he I'd not what he seems to be. He looks like this really hot bad boy but turns out to be her knight in shinning armor. I want tell you anymore but to read this book if you get a chance. This is a very good romance book.
Spider's the kind of alpha male who isn't an overbearing, cynical jerk. Anne's character is nicely developed. The editing is clean and the prose easy to read. This book was better than I expected, a nice surprise.
This book was very entertaining. I guess the first edition had editing problems, but has been fixed with this edition. I enjoyed both characters in this light hearted romance.
