Miranda and Garrett were the best of friends growing up together. Then, while Garrett was a missionary in South America, Tom Kensington swept Miranda off her feet. He promised that one day he would take her to the temple. But that day never came. Mirandaâ s life with Tom is nothing like she thought it would be, and his unexpected death reveals a secret life Miranda knew nothing about. Although she tries to hide the truth from her children and family, they encourage her to arrange for a temple sealing to Tom and her children. But she knows Tom is not the man she wants to be sealed to for eternity. Garrett, however, has never forgotten what he felt for Miranda, and he is eager to resume the relationship that had ended more than fifteen years earlier. But before Miranda can let someone else into her heart, she must shed the bitterness of her betrayel and learn to forgive. Yesterdayâ s Love. . . a deeply romantic and moving novel.
I grew up in St. George, Utah, where a lot of my family still lives, but now reside with my husband and family in the Salt Lake City area. My favorite thing to do is support my kids in their many interests. Between basketball, ballet and piano lessons we squeeze a lot into a week, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I sometimes have issues with modern issue books, but this one wasn't too bad. Phew! There were a few little picky things that bothered me (Miranda, the main character, celebrated her 40th birthday right at the first of the book, yet it said that her parents had been married for 35 years--inconsistencies like that. I know--I'm probably overly picky). Overall, it was a tender, believable story that dealt with the miracle of forgiveness and a woman's journey to discover it.
It is about a woman who losses a husband but feels she had lost him long ago. As she tries to put her life together at forty she finds an old friend. She also deals with helping her children cope. Everything isn't always roses, but then in real life when is it? This book is fun to read and is great for a romatic heart of any age.
One of my all time favorite books. Realistic problems, realistic people and the love interest is pretty much perfect. I love this book. Read it. Do it now. Why the heck are you still here? Go get this book!
I loved this book so much! You guys may not know this, but my aunt actually wrote a bunch of books, and this is one of the ones that I have read! I really loved the style, which was romantic and had a slight bit of humor, but not enough to make the jokes too over-the-top.
This is the first I've read by this author, although I have read a lot of LDS romance in general. The story was nice, and the characters were likable and true-to-life. I liked the mother/teenager conflict and the way the children dealt with their grief.
This book is REALLY sad but it ends VERY well! I love the turn of events with all the characters. But it definitely has a sad concept. I love how Miranda changes and becomes a better person despite what she's gone through.
I really liked it but the ending almost seemed that their was no problem and the rest of their lives were going to be an everlasting fairy tale. other then that, i liked it
I like Garrett, but as I look back, some of these guys are pretty darn perfect. I don't mind that too much while I'm reading though. The girls in these books have to get understanding men.
3.5 Miranda's husband died in an airplane crash. Unfortunately that wasn't the worst thing she found out about him that day. Readable, hearty story. Although it doesn't resolve until the end, there are secondary storylines that are also good.
