Elani, this was such a good book! 5Star READ!!!! Carter was absolutely a POS. He was a horrible husband and a horrible, power-hungry human. Vaughn was the peace in the storm for Niya and his niece (and mother and sister Shelly). He was thoughtful, protective, and hard to the core --even with this past, he was able to relieve the pain from Niya. Niya, how did you go to that man's house with a gun and strung out on pills and alcohol and miss your shot! That scene was too much...she actually thought she would go over there and talk to Carter (knowing he's a sociopath/narcissist). She was delusional to think that man cared (honestly, she was manic after days of binging)....and don't get me started about the lawyer Allison that double crossed her and was sleeping with Carter (since college). SMH. Drama just unfolded page after page. This was delicious....yeah, the Audible version was virtual voice (so that should tell you something if it was still good).
