New York Times Bestselling author Jocelynn Drake loves a good story, whether she is reading it or writing one of her own. Over the years, her stories have allowed her to explore space, talk to dragons, dodge bullets with assassins, hang with vampires, and fall in love again and again.

This was fun, magical, and sweet - even with vampires after them and interfering demons. I liked seeing the Varik’s again and look forward to reading Moon’s story!
First - Just What Was Promised by the author: a fun series of novellas that together told one story. All in all a thoroughly amazing fun romp through the love life of a Necromancer. As a whole, it was a 4/5. A fun meal but not a banquet. Characters were developed just enough to work, but not fully. The world-building was minimal but worked as we were supposed to assume it was our world with a few twists. The overall plot was not a smooth arc - but rather four clusters of events that were strung together as the 2 main characters developed a relationship - which was given from the beginning.
I had so much fun with this story, while split into four they flow together perfectly into each other and I adored every moment. The world building is incredible, the action and adventure had me gripped.
Sky and Nolan captured my heart so quickly, they're both so charming in very different ways & well suited to one another. I adored the slow burning feels developing between them, how protective and supportive they're of each other throughout.
The cast is all so much fun though and I do hope Maddox & Redstone shall get their own books sometime as I fell in love with them here. I haven't read any of the authors series this one spins off from, but I don't feel i missed anything essential other then character crossovers.
Honestly every single one comes to life on pace and had me entertained, following their rescue missions and dating efforts was wonderful.
There's plenty to enjoy here with all of the magic, humorous moments and beautiful thoughtful scenes too. Not forgetting the sweet romance developing and they do have a pinch of spice, Sky and Nolan's chemistry is perfect.
Overall I had an amazing time in this world, learning with Nolan as the variety of paranormal are revealed and his growth is lovely. Sky & Nolan get their happy ending 💛
This is my second reading of this series. The first time was as single stories and I had not yet read the Lords of Discord series. This second go around I opted for the 'complete works'. I have a kindle unlimited subscription and this was my way for the author to get paid a second time around. Characters from the 'Discord' series pop up all over the place and whilst it is not necessary to read that series first, I found it gave the book so much more depth, plus it was nice to catch up with some old friends. Sky and Nolan are a great couple and couldn't get into more trouble if they tried. It was a heartwarming story with laugh out loud moments, a little bit of peril and some tender moments.

Heather's Notes I have actually had this on my TBR since Jan of 2024 but instead of reading just the first book, I read the complete works. It was a cute story. I feel like I now need to find the book about the vampires. I also hope JD comes back and writes a story for the rest of the witches. Those would be cute I think, but first the vampires. Even though it is a different series, I feel like I am reading out of order.
I read this as the complete works and I think the stories flowed that way. Neighbors, Sky has had his eye on Nolan for a couple of years. The broody goth writer keeps to himself until he learns vampires are real and Sky offers up his necromancer powers as well as anything else he can give Nolan, in order to help him. Unlike any human Sky has met, the more Nolan finds out, the more he wants to help Sky anyway he can as well. Sweet story and some great side characters and of course, sandwiches!
Four very entertaining novellas that worked well together. Because the magic works in our normal world (we just don't know it) there wasn't much world building required, which worked well for the novellas. Each novella has it's own story arc but picks up seamlessly from the previous one. The guys are cute and I really enjoyed how much fun Nolan had after getting over his initial shock. It's a pity there isn't more.
Tellement bien !!!
All together now! Happy, happy, happiness! I'm absolutely thrilled that all four parts of Sky and Nolan's story are together in one book already! I knew that these would be rereads for me and now it's much easier! Fantastic! Thank you, Jocelynn Drake for giving us such a wonderful couple to love!
I absolutely loved this series, the author has a way of bringing you in to the whimsy of the characters and the world There in. Found myself grinning like an idiot as I read about Nolan and Sky. I absolutely loved how cute they were together, seeing both become protective of the other and bring out the best in them was a delight! I fully intend to read the other books by this author.
Loved Sky and how he won Nolan over. Loved the tie in with the Lords of Discord (an excellent series, highly recommend) and the future link to a series with Moon (and hopefully, the other coven members Mads and Red). Excellent serial, highly recommend!
Loved it so much! Sky is a cute necromancer and Nolan is human. Nolan gets into trouble and Sky helps him out. They try to do normal things but things don’t go that way. Sky’s friends (coven) need a helping hand too.
Love the world and want more. Fun skim reading this again after reading the previous series so I have more of an understanding of character dynamics there. I want more with some of the side characters, as I didn't find the MCs the most engaging here.
I’ve read these individually, so to get the entire series in one book was wonderful! Sky and Nolan were just adorable together, but trouble sure followed them around. A great series! Highly Recommended
A marshmallow necromancer and his found family makes for a series of adorable, exciting romps. Can't believe it took me this long to get around to reading this!
It may be the "complete works" but surely not the end? There's so much more I want to know about these characters and their world/lives, especially that whole "Moving Day" business with the fae. Sequel/spinoff series, please-pretty-please?
